I'm so impressed with how fast Cooper and Greg caught on to candy making and the science of it all. Hopefully Steve and Terry will be able to have a vacation knowing that the boys can handle the back and Cara and the girls can handle the office and the front.
Best part of my day! Just got home from working with confectionery food in a manufacturing setting and these videos are my zen/relaxation. Love all the great banter, positive energy, and the overall love of your craft! It really shows through these great videos. Please keep ‘em coming! 😃
I have watched a bunch of videos from 5 years ago. And yesterday I jumped to current videos. Steve is so much more comfortable with the camera. It's so nice to see him having fun. Everything looks so yummy. Thanks for sharing.
Coffee creams covered with milk or dark chocolate. Maybe even add ground roasted coffee beans to the center. Or a chocolate covered roasted bean to each center before enrobing in chocolate.....Just some ideas.....Or use this idea in the ribbon candy.....
I would like to suggest a new flavor. Apple Cider with cinnamon and cloves. My mom would use our old perkalater coffee pot and would put Apple Cider (vs Apple juice) where the water would go, and put the cinnamon sticks and whole cloves in the basket and then we’d plug it in and the flavor was so warm and calming. Because it already has a liquid component it may not work very well… I just thought that if you needed any creative Ideas for the Autumn season. Just a caution though - it may make you really drowsy or sleepy.G-fabless you all.
Just wanted to say “ Hi guys!” Stopped in with my family and dog on our road trip back home to Florida and everyone was just soo wonderful and nice! Steve was so nice and offered us a piece of hard candy. Terry was too sweet. Thank you
Wondering if Greg would have better luck with the corn syrup if he held his hands in ice water to cool them down before scooping. Maybe toss a few ice cubes into the pot of water. Just an idea
Omg I'm from Massachusetts. I'm dying laughing " idear" lol so true . Soder instead of soda. The list goes on. Thanks for the 😃 giggle. I'm home sick today. I needed it.
I think you guys are correct, with the water content it’d be better to switch to chocolate on the table, and vanilla in the kettle. I love that you guys don’t shy away from testing new and unusual recipes, even when you know it will give you trouble- That’s a rare business ethic these days! And it’s awesome!! No matter what, it will still be delicious!!😍 I love the look as well!👌
I was really surprised when the sticky vanilla pulled out nicely on the hook. Thought for a minute it would be unworkable to pull and destined for the garbage. Btw, nice job Teri on the Ship Station sponsor video. Longest I've seen you go and be so serious without smiling over something!!
I feel like Cooper could sell me a lifetime supply of garden weeds and I'd buy them. He's got such a laid back chill vibe. Digging the boys working with such pride in Hercules.
Love you guys . Miss being back home and being able to go to your shop. Makes me want to take a trip to see you . Merry Christmas , blessings to you and all of yours . Be safe ,keep warm .
Oh my gosh looks so good! You guys should try cream and different fruit flavors next! Like the vanilla cream drop filling and strawberry hard candy or peach! Yum!
These videos are so relaxing when im feeling anxious or depressed. This looks good! Deciding between this one or the smores for my next order. I've never had ribbon candy before and tried the peanut butter cup about a month ago and it was so good! Also, hearts for Cooper lol. 🤎🤎
I love your videos. The fun loving feeling I always get from you guys is inspiring. I love that you are always trying new things. Karen, your tie dye outfits always make me smile and feel happy. I hope you are all having a GREAT summer.
hear me out for a candy idea, candy chips. Like the candy ribbon but just flat pieces of it and y'all can just fit it into a bag half-way filled with air to get the real chip effect. idk if yall have done this before but it just sounds fun to me
I love watching all your video’s, The flavors sound and the candy looks soo good! It helps me to relax. Oh, did I mention I’m allergic to SUGAR? Of all things… 😖🙄 Love to see the process!
I want to use a pastry torch to reheat it just a little and that might help with the severe stickiness of it that's what my mother would have done and it would have helped and she made candy all the time
If you get burned while cooking Immediately put mustard On the burn. It will keep some blistering and scarring. Y’all make amazing candy, I enjoy watching your videos. A friend from Texas.
I have an idea. What if you made cheesecake (or another flavor, I just love cheesecake and chocolate) ribbon candy and dipped one side in chocolate. So when a customer breaks off a piece of the candy, they get a little bit of chocolate with it. Dipped in chocolate on one of the long sides. I hope that makes sense. I feel like it would be a bit labor intensive but it's different than anything I've seen you guys do so far, and I've been watching the channel since the basement! I love you guys and I love how much the Hercules family has grown and expanded. keep up the good work!
Another idea for the vanilla would be vanilla bean paste. That would give it a rich vanilla flavor plus the little flecks (like in vanilla bean ice cream) but it wouldn't effect the consistency and stickiness of the hot candy. Just a thought (no guarentee 😉)...
Awesome guys, thanks. Terri this idea came to me this morning. I was wondering if you could try to put editable gold flakes in one of your candies. I talked with my oldest daughter tonight and she said that they have been watching candy making from Lofty Creations. I mentioned you all to her and she said they will have to look at your stuff too. Love you all!!!
It isn't that we don't trust the owners and staff to be truthful when taste testing, but some fairly impartial opinions from a few random customers hanging about in the store would be fun to see.
i still don't understand why the hook has to be hammered....does it eventually get out of place? or does the shock shake the candy loose from sticking? need answers!
@@kimbain6019 but you dont wanna tell me which one? the hook doesn't really seem to move ever so ill go with shocking the candy loose from the hook then :)
Strawberry and cream Apple and blackcurrant Rhubarb and custard Cola Pineapple Just a few of my favourite hard boiled sweets I get in the uk 🇬🇧, I’ve never seen you guys do, maybe they are not popular in USA 🇺🇸 ?.
Hmmm. What if you added vanilla to the whole kettle before splitting it? If you add the vanilla while it's still on the burner it'll give the water in the vanilla a chance to boil off. Then when you split it, add the vanilla bean on the table for the vanilla half and the chocolate gets added in the kettle, just like you did here. I'm just thinking about how just about every chocolate recipe I've ever made has vanilla in it, and they'll both be together in your mouth anyway.
i think just do vanilla flavor with the oreo crumbles and chocolate drops. skip making the chocolate candy with it because it may overpower the vanilla.
I got a question for you about this cookies and cream ribbon candy my question is wouldn't it be easier to make the vanilla on in the creamer like you make drops after that instead of pulling it out put the drop mixture in the middle that way you wouldn't have to pull
Awesome! Always fun to see new ideas come to life. I really thought that the first batch was a no go. But persistence worked. Second badge that was almost perfect. I'm pretty sure what the big secret is but I'm keeping 🤐🤣 Thanks guys for another video filled with fun! 👋🏻❤️
Wonder if you can use a little regular cream, heat it up to pouring consistency add vanilla and pour some cream and sprinkle the cookie them, just like you would the caramel nut filling in the apple ribbon candy
I'm so impressed with how fast Cooper and Greg caught on to candy making and the science of it all. Hopefully Steve and Terry will be able to have a vacation knowing that the boys can handle the back and Cara and the girls can handle the office and the front.
I was just thinking the same thing. They really understand the process now and the nuances of candy making.

Chocolate _has_ vanilla in it. Maybe adding half of the vanilla to the batch before it's divided would be the key?
You guys should try fruit and vanilla cream flavored hard candy too! Like cream savers

Does the vanilla done in the kettle taste the same as the batch where it was added on the table? I'm curious if it gets cooked out more.

Try using vanilla bean paste
Have you tried vanilla powder or vanilla sugar.
Instead of liquid vanilla extract
That chocolate mixture looks delicious. Would you consider an all chocolate hard candy or a chocolate cherry mix?
Could you add less water at the start? Would that make it less sticky?
I just recently bought some candy it took me ever since you were in your basement until now for me to finally cave.
