    Its rare that manufacturing companies are transparent with their processes and challenges. IMO, most consumers are unaware of the detailed process involved in developing feature rich products. Your passion for the design/mfg process and attention to detail will be evident in the final product. Thanks for sharing.

    Good looking top case. Prefer soft cases for most applications but on long distance ride a hardcase is definitely much more secured.

    Great IDEA!!!
    FWIW: just my 2 cents:
    I think it would be important to consider the option of providing the same Molle attachment on the FRONT of the box, sitting toward the rider: explanation: When you're riding loaded, you don't want to put even more weight far back hanging off behind your back wheel. It is better having the weight more forward toward the center of the bike. If you don't have a pinion, then it's the better choice. If you're with pilion, then you have enough weight as it is... 🥴🥴🥴.
    Great development, would consider this for city and short distances, but prefer soft luggage on longer trips - they take more time to get sorted out, but are safer and take at least as much punishment as hard boxes, if not more...

    Very impressive, and a lot of hard work and thought goes behind everything that gets fabricated from start. A lot of trial and error to make something strong and not too heavy. i’ve always liked quality over cheap. I come from a background of Welding fabricating and riveting. Keep up the good work and good luck. I would definitely buy your product.

    Your work in perfecting bags and top cases for motorcycles has been fantastic, but you must have a greater variety of products for the main motorcycle brands. The upgrades to luggage and top case equipment are stupendous, great job. Congratulations.

    Thank you for the information video on how the top box is progressing. There is always a lot of hard work in R&D and it’s just not a simple as putting a box on a rack. The locking device seems to work really well. I will be interested in the final material it is going to be made from looking at strong yet light weight. No mention of impact resistance or water tight testing as yet. Send me a sample and I’ll fully test it for you :)
    Honestly keep up the great work love what you are doing. Built by motor cycle enthusiasts for motor cycling people all over the world.

    I think it's looking really good in terms of everything you're doing so far. Some things I would comment on noticing some stuff about my last camping trip using my top box to hold a water container - the hinges on the case I have now became twisted enough to not allow true alignment when closing the lid. I hope your hinges a beefy enough to hold open the lid with weight on it attached. If they aren't then the top lid would get twisted in the same manner. I also like more screws and threaded retainers than rivets that if one wanted to change something out - the rivet would need removal and replacement by a threaded insert and bolt or screw. Do you have a material in mind for the case itself? are you going with black anodized aluminum?

    • @LONERIDERMoto
      @LONERIDERMoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, we are adding two reinforcement bars across the hinge area and making the hinges removable for service. I have the same experience as you last year on a trip so we built into this product. The coating will be powder coated. Thanks

    I would like to be able to use my ignition key. The BMW aluminum cases have you purchase a separate lock cylinder kit so you can make it work with your key.

  • @konrill2

    Nice vid about the painstaking proces of the development of a new product. To me it’s just another topcase. To be honest I don’t see the reason why I should purchase this product. All the other brands offer the same solution. I would really love to see something that adventurers would really like to have and use. Like for instance: place some foldable legs underneath so you could use the case as a small table. Maybe a steal top that is heat proof so you could use a small burner stove without damaging the case if you spill something ion it. Isolate the case so that food stays fresh longer. I Mean a more practical use that combines features.
    I do believe in the brand and I’m sure that there are still a lot of unused idea’s. So keep up the good work and good luck with production of it.

    If I, as a Swiss, may also say something about it?
    According to the video description, the case is very interesting and logically structured in theory.
    What would interest me is how much load of goods is allowed and how the driving behavior changes, e.g. with a GS.
    In my opinion, the storage space is one thing, but the driving behavior is something different.
    I generally think it's a pity that Lone Rider does not want to show a presence in Switzerland, as I consider this company to be a top brand.

    I'm not a fan of boxes, but this one looks great and very well designed. Big enough, versatile and well thought thru, hence the hinges that stay in the desired position.
    Regarding the lock, it would be great to serve the BMW community with the possibility to use their BMW key.
    From the looks at 14:44 min. and onwards in your video, the picture on the right top hand, it looks like you even used a BMW key during prototyping.

    • @LONERIDERMoto
      @LONERIDERMoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Personally I would have been ok with a normal little key like what you use for your pannier motobags. Seems over engineered. At least that way perhaps allow someone to buy a set of panniers and top box that could use the same key, and get a key cut al local shop.
    The rest looks amazing

    I'd be curious to know how much time it takes for you between start and finish on this product development that you nicely outlined for us. I'm also wondering if the changes made to reduce the inner lining to accommodate the two helmets might be made into an option so that those of us who don't use the top box for helmets might want to keep the full interior padding. Too much...?

    • @LONERIDERMoto
      @LONERIDERMoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      From the idea, at least two years to make a product. The lining will come as standard, no worries here

  • @yair1956
    @yair1956 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Kind of disappointment. The market is saturated with Hard top Cases, I was expecting from Lone Rider to develop something like the Moto Bag Panniers, mean, Semi-Rigid, I don't think those Top Case are attractive enough to make me swap the BMW OEM or any other brand top case, which, most likely, are cheaper than Lone Rider...besides, 46L way to big, can pose a danger, the option of attaching extra stuff increase the instability & danger.

    • @LONERIDERMoto
      @LONERIDERMoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The great thing is we can use the attachment points now to build out other products. Like a soft topbox for example.

    • @yair1956

      @@LONERIDERMoto Not Soft, you already got a great product (Which I use for 4-5 years already) Simi-Rigid, don't go backward move forward, & keep volume reasonable up to 40L.
