This game is basically on what FighterZ and Kakarot would be if they were fused, It pretty much has everything within the environment and graphics, The coloring even the choice of characters, this might actually be the best Dragon Ball game for the longest time.
It's got the Ki Blast Deflects from Raging Blast and the Z-Vanish Meter Management System from Xenoverse as well, this really does look the ultimate Dragon Ball game
More like a mix of og budokai tenkaichi with raging blast

Battle Wear Damage, the Ki Blast particular effects, THE WAY NAPPA'S GIANT STORM EXPLODED THE BUILDINGS IN WEST CITY LIKE IT WAS FIREWORKS, everything about this looks incredible and i can't wait. Literally the only thing i think can be even better is making the actual hits have a louder sound cue so that they feel even bigger.
I don't care if this releases in the winter or even in 2025 and beyond, no matter what happens in my life even if I'm completely broke and dying the next day, the moment this game comes out, i am on it 100%.

I completely agree that the impacts dont feel good, but im thinking the goku and vegeta fight might have been an earlier build of the game. Looking at the power vs speed trailer they actually have good feeling punch impacts. Its most noticeable when dyspo and trunks are fighting. My only other complaints are that it seems like they focused on making goku's abilities and transformations more cinematic, while vegeta's feel like they put less effort into them. Last complaint is when goku gets hit by the final flash before going blue, the beam doesn't really connect and he kinda just floats infront of it. Otherwise I'm so ready for this game and hoping we can get a demo before launch.

@@cld8510 oh no, I agree that everything looks buttery smooth. The impact thing is just a preference, I'd have no problem if they left it as is. I think the impact just feels a little soft compared to some of the other recent dragon ball games, it's just something I'd have to get used to.
It’s gonna feel better and stuff when you’re actually holding the controller and that your Game volume for sfx is higher then it is in the video.

The camera work for the fighting doesn't get enough attention. The way it angles and tilts depending on both character's positioning will really make fights feel more cinematic.

@@ItsskipppermyG i'm thinking since og Tenkaichi also didn't have crazy impact on normal attacks they want to keep it the same but this deffo doesn't feel quite right yet. They should add just a tiny amount more hitstop and make the characters flinch more, then it would be perfect!
The impact frames don’t help at all I feel like they were misused in some places but that also ties into the punches not having enough impact
Am I the only one who thinks the beam's impact is lacking in comparison to Tenkaichi?. In bt2/3 the whole screen would shake and light up while the explosion sound lasted longer and sounded way more brutal.
I love how the hair actually moves with the wind or when you charge up, same with the clothes. Its such a minor thing but makes the game look 100x better with it

I like feeling the impact of the beam struggling , i personally don't get that same feeling if I'm just tapping a button. It just feels to waterd down and simplified to me.

I get it, but controllers are so damn expensive these days, and they're so easy to wear out. And Idk how they'd enforce something like that. Where you can play with either mashing or timed presses. How would you make them both work against each other?
I feel like timed presses give the most benefit to a wider range of players too. Some people can't mash at all due to pain or disabilities, but can still learn reaction time.

I'm looking forward to showing my friends who the master is with Roshi. Clashes look dope; I think the "boost" allows you to spend resources (maybe skill points or blast stocks) to get an extra edge. I see what you mean about impact; i felt is most on Final Flash where the tip of the beam kinda sits in front of Goku instead of maintaining speed "through" him. Goku doesn't even get hit by the brunt of the blast before the explosion flings him away, but hopefully that's smoothed out by release...whenever the hell that is😅
I'm not worried about the character roster. All DBZ games have a big roster.
I'm not worried about the combat. They've figured that formula out in the ps2 era.
I want modes! Give me a What If story modes. Open mad adventure modes. Character leveling. A capsule shop. Customization.
The What if Scenarios are a big one. While the Budokai Tenkaichi 3 ones weren't bad per say, they were a downgrade compared to Budokai Tenkaichi 2.

The one thing I noticed it seemed like they cut the Ultimate attack finish short, maybe that part is still in development. Hopefully they still have those outer space camera angles showing the huge blast, that shit was peak!

@@okNiko same here! The only thing I hope they keep as well. When you use your ultimate on a low health opponent their entire body disappears. That was one of my favorite things for me and my cousins playing the when we were kids. We called it “totally obliterating the opponent” 😅

I think the biggest thing for me is that everything is to scale which is great but it just looks so easy to look sight of your opponent after a knock back or when smoke clouds on screen even if your character stays locked in, just looks irl difficult
ngl I like that they were using the old Budokai voice lines for "hitting/pain" lines and that they pretty much turned the Ultimate Move mechanic from Budokai 3, that determined whether the move would succeed or fail, into the beam clash mini game.

My only issue is that the camera looks a tiny bit snappy during combat, but that can be improved on at some point post-launch, if it's not something they've smoothed out already.

The only thing I ask is that they bring back the chargable down attacks. In BT3 you could leg sweep mid combo with triangle and you're opponent would be open for a second
I hope they fix it so the beam is actually make contact with the character model, because there's a huge space between goku and the end up vegetas final flash.
Also the deflect mechanic is technically new, because now it cost 2 blast stocks to do it or "skill points" as they refer to it now, which they demonstrate under Gokus portrait when he deflects. Raging blast you could just spam it making beams pretty much useless, now it's a decision that actually impacts you if you try to spam it which I really like.

The purple full power mode they went into was in budokai tenkaichi 3 as well it’s how you do your ultimate and the infinite loop combos and personally I like how the basic hits look budokai tenkaichi hits were always sorta had that rapid look to them idk how else to describe it I totally get wanting a little more impact but for me right now I’m liking it

I also hope they bring back exchangeable Auras from Raging Blast 2. Also would love costume color variations. Everything thing else is a fine addition. I just hope they stay true to BT3 gameplay flow. So far it seems to look more like Raging blast. Most importantly team ultimates/mid battle fusion
The only things I don't like are the punching sound effects like you said, and the beam stopping when it hits you, I feel like it should explode or go through you instead of some wonky animation just pausing when you get hit. the rest is so hype

The first thing i said when i saw this is that the punches lack some impact
When you punch your opponent in old Tenkaichi you feel that satisfaction because you know you're hurting the opponent and you want to clash with hands more often even tho the combos are repetitive sometimes
So far I'm loving everything I'm seeing! But I agree with the audio and lack of impact on hits. Other than that, really looking forward to playing this game!
We have had tournament game modes in the past, as well as cell games...It would be VERY cool if they did a tournament of power battle royal that can be played either online or locally! And when a character gets eliminated it would be cool to see their picture get greyed out like on Zeno's screen from the show.

I liked to think their reasoning behind the changes with ki clash mechanic is so that you don’t have to keep breaking your controller from button mashing or twisting your stick.

This might get me back into gaming for sure... havent touched Dbz Kakarot since i bought it anf i pre ordered it got the game ..played for 2 hrs..that was it .....havent played Xenoverse 2 for almost 4 yrs now ... and i bearly sit down to play games maybe onve every 3 months for 25mins and mainly NFS or FH5 car games... this Im mega hyped for..

OOOH the ki clash has the infinite world offence and defence gauge that's a nice touch. Infinite world was the first budokai game I played idk if that same gauge had been in other games.

For the Impact of the punches, I am 200% with you there right now.
What this game misses is the screen-shake, Tenkaichi 1 to 3 was BOMBAREDED with it at every occasion your screen was shaken like crazy, I feel like they rely too much on Impact Frames right now, they really just need to bring back the screen shake, especially if you hit the opponent with a heavy attack or he hits the ground.
I hope the charging “stance” if you will gets an update depending on how strong you are like in tenchichi 3 their charge stance was different depending on how strong they became.
If it comes out late this year or next year we have nothing to worry about. That’s more than enough time to smooth everything out and let the Voice actors record their lines.
In Ultimate Tenkaichi, I loved when they powered up and the screen shakes. Seeing that here looks so badass.
The best thing they can do is have the different transformations have different movesets upon transforming. BT and RB had different ults per transformation
I also notice during the beam struggle it looked like they did a similar approach to dbs broly movie 👀when gogeta clashed with broly and they shifted to another dimension for that short amount of time 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥I can’t wait man 😭

seems like the beam struggle uses the dragon rush finisher from budokai 2... or 3? i remember in one of those games there was a meter that filled and you had to press X at the right timing
