I know, I know. Controversial to talk about anything other than the epic guitar playing on an AP video. But man, that snare is so perfect for this song it hurts.
The cymbal selection is spot on too.
Boy thats so a drummer thing to say
the bass strings are pretty good too
This is real musicianship right here. The stuff I'd hear on a beautiful weekend while the dogs are running around and my dad would be fixing up the house or working in the garage and you just hear beautiful music streaming out of the speakers. Pure bliss.
Omg, dude! Why are you not extremely famous by now?! I just don't understand. This, lady's and gentlemen, is a real musician.
I bought tickets for your London show, I can't wait!
The guitar playing and tone are fabulous and it's refreshing to hear vocals that are not overly processed
That melted the face clean off me!
2:32 oh my GODH
Ariel Posen is my spirit animal.
The boy can play.
I love the super quiet moments. You just lean into those amazing tones. So much space and then omg the build up! This is my favorite so far!
I think John Mayer would steal licks from Ariel if the play togheter :D
Koen Roels he likes all his instagram videos! Haha
@@HeartShapedBox93 think how amazing music is we can all love Ariel but dare different opinions about JM and nobody is wrong.
i’m listening to this three/four times per day for a week and it’s always a little more emotional every time i listen to this song played by him.
Ariel!!! This is just ridiculously good. No words man.
I was so happy to see this. More people need to hear John Martyn! Thank you Ariel. Great music covered by a great musician.
Tearing it up with that slide good Lord! An inspiration
12 minutes of ridiculously good shit here
Not as popular as that other video with only the solo of this song, but this version is also as good as it gets. It’s a shame true musicianship like this doesn’t get more recognition in our days. I’m fed up with generic pop stars, I want pure talent like this at the top of the charts from now on.
Goosebumps as usual
Just achingly beautiful.
Trying to crack slide on Ariels jamplay course - how will I ever get that control he has - its mastery - this performance is just beautiful
5:38 - That’s what you’re here for
You’re welcome 😉
Found this guy a week ago and ye gods this has got to go somewhere
Fantastic version of a great John Martyn song. Beautiful.
Masterclass in taste and tone and a beautiful spin on a John Martyn classic song. The control with which you built that stunning solo was wonderful beyond words.
so good
tone is soooo tasty...i could even eat it on its own ;) cheers man!
You're going to hit it hard bruh. What playing 👏
Incredible. Live and on video. Come back soon.
OH MAAAAAN!! BEST PERFORMANCE EVER!
Ariel you are a heckin' god. Much love
Well, that was fantastic.
His playing is very reminiscent of Derek Trucks. That’s a good thing!
Great touch bro!!!!
I think I was living under a rock
Please make this be in your next album.
Great rendition. Have fun in Italy. Wish I was there!!
Beautiful 😭😭😍
Thanks, Ariel.
Keep up the good work (and share it whenever possible).
Much respect.
Cheers
Incredible. OPEN D tuning is the shizz and Ariel makes it look so easy. GREAT song Ariel.
Not open D mate, B standard with capo on second fret
@@bradleyhargreaves9307 sure sounds open to me. thanks for letting me know.
@@JeffKeel i've read he uses Open C which CAPO at the second would be OPEN D but it's so hard to see his chords voicings and im certainly no expert
Brilliant. Many thanks for posting this, Ariel. Love the drumming and bass, and the mixing (and obviously, the guitar).
Killed it
absolutely amazing! Thank you !
Amazing! 🇧🇷
Well done!
The best moment
Wow....
omg great music n song...masterclass
Thank you Ariel for sharing this !
It's just a perfect simulation to your fans that have never been to your concerts, getting a taste of what to expect.
I like the synergy between your raspy voice along with the not-so perfect recording
Killer vibes and solos
Oh man, wish I was there, amazing!! Hope you come to Mexico City soon.
This guy has it all - git :)
Ur #1 dude
I need to see Ariel do something with Julian Lage.
Yes!
I second this
I would die.
The guitar players, guitar player.
Class as usual. Seen an interview with Joss and yourself, glad to hear your writing songs your next album. Can't wait.
Graeme Ross this is a cover
@@zTrebster Yeh I know, I was refering to his comments on this interview concerning new songs th-cam.com/video/gg0djIElPhY/w-d-xo.html
That snare tho
11:38 "hmm yeah im badass"
Most underrated six month old comment with no likes EVER. Ive never clicked that thumbs up button as fast as I just have. I saw Ariel’s expression too at that part and noticed his moment of self gratification. LOLd hard when I read your comment. Dude is scary good with that slide, huh?
@@austinjones3126 hahaha duuude
Ariel is a beast man
I don’t even know what to say
love that panky slide!
3:00 that rendition to Slow dancing in a burning room
Hahah!! I didn't even notice that
Love it! Any chance this cover will be on your next album?
Imagine this guy played against Eugene in Crossroads
9:18 face melting mode activated
If you all like slide listen to the Hellecasters Will Ray kill it on Sweet Dreams. Will used the first take on the cd. How about a Hellecasters review 😊
Wish the camera person had caught the guitar as well as your vocals for the song. Amazing though!
Seriously though. What kind of snare is that?
Wow. Ariel, killing it as always mate! What's that guitar you're playing?
Paul Camus mule resonators built it for Ariel.
Its a mulecaster, a steel hollow bodied telecaster baritone guitar with regular scale neck length. I think he usually plays it tuned down to C
Tuning?
Open d
Yiu can see the fuckin novo guy in the background haha
I see the person driving the camera made a huge mistake in showing that there really are other musos on stage. Can't have them getting ANY credit for holding it all down and tight. Jerk.
