  • Our jet-setting family is on a quest to experience 110 distinct cultures across all 7 continents by the summer of 2025, when our oldest, Reagan, heads off to college and our two youngest, Brooklyn and Colt, return to in-person school to start their freshman year.
Four of us are spending the week in Palmetto Bluff, South Carolina, but couldn’t miss the opportunity to cross the river and spend one perfect day exploring the sites and bites of a city that’s the oldest city in Georgia and almost a half-century older than the US itself.
Savannah is known as the most haunted place in the country and as the one civil war city that was too beautiful to destroy, but we’re just here to experience the top local dishes at the most iconic establishments. Let’s start devouring.

    ABOUT US.
We’re the Lockwoods: a family with 3 kids, 5 careers, and endless passion for adventure. Two years ago, we decided it was time for Phil's ad agency to abandon the in-person, 5-day workweek. So they 86’d the office and work hours, allowing our own family to start traveling almost constantly. We now work, school, and explore in a different place every week-from our own mountain and beach homes to exotic villas, resorts, and yachts around the world. As we experience and support diverse cultures, we hope to inspire more families to design a life of freedom and adventure.
Because there’s a new American Dream. It’s one that’s void of templated expectations, templated career paths, templated education, templated families, templated homes, and templated lives. Freedom is no longer an American tagline-it’s just the new, global way of life.
Every day that you spend doing something that doesn’t fulfill you to your core, you’re living your life on pause. You’re deferring genuine family time with no guarantee that there will be a tomorrow or a someday. Some people follow that mentality their entire lives. We’ve chosen to never live that way again.
We appreciate you following our journey. The more our channel grows, the more time we can spend traveling to more locations, contributing to these cultures, highlighting local businesses, and sharing inspiring stories from these communities. So please consider liking, commenting, and subscribing so that you can stick with us for the long haul.

Thank you for highlighting Girl Scouts! I work for the Girl Scout council and anytime we can share First Headquarters with the world, we are excited to do it.

I love Savannah, I visited a friend there about 14 years ago and they brought us to a small restaurant that was frequented by the cast and crew of Forrest Gump when they were shooting the movie there .
A family run small restaurant and we met the mom owner of the restaurant, she was so nice and friendly.

Forrest gump was NOT filmed in Forsyth park. It was filmed in one of Savannah's remaining 22 squares. Chippewa square.

husband speaking another story down, your children are so young here and then so much more grown up in your Philippine tour. We are watching
    them grow before our eyes.

Interesting observation. Our day in Savannah was only about 5 or 6 months ago. They are growing up so fast!!

I love this vlog❤ I’m driving down to Savannah on a bit of a road trip around the southern states this summer. With it being my first visit to Savannah, I needed some advice on where to eat at and what to do.

Hi guys! Here's a fun bit of knowledge I have!
Though the bench was a prop, while in Savannah they told us that they took the bench and it's actually in the Savannah Historical Society Museum! I didn't get to see it, but it's inside in the lobby I believe.
I love savannah, everyone is so welcoming:)

Awesome! Thanks for letting us know. Wish we saw the bench 😊 but now we know where it is.

      That's interesting..
are you a local? (Not accusing you! It's just strange because our tour guide from Savannah said it was there, is all! Not trying to be rude this is not supposed to be offensive!)

Wendy, this was such a fun day for all of us. The food, the city, the family time, it was all great. And yes, Brooklyn didn’t care for duck 😆 but we’re proud of her for trying. We didn’t think the shrimp and grits seemed terribly traditional but it was a good take on it. Mashama Baily is an inspiration to the culinary and local community. We felt grateful to experience her restaurant and learn more about the station back then. Thank you for continuing to support our channel and follow us along! 🤗

you know the smiley faces the pretty smiles are all nice and savannah has pretty trees etc, but the main thing is safety. just yesterday a killing outside across from the mall. murder is a very common event. killing on 38th street last week.wife son and i were almost victims this week, but our protection devices helped prevent. just saying you can have the ghetto in a pretty place. truth hurts but dont let those with dollars in their eyes cloud over truth
