Loved the bike to ride definatley more fun in the bends, but just to wide to heavy and to tall for me, really suprised with the seat 1hr and 30 I had back aik, weird how bikes suit differnt people ABS, maybe platform shoes and a woopy cushion will solve it 🤣🤣🤣👍
Hiya mate, Thanks for the video which I found very interesting, my legs are shorter than yours at 29 inches so I reckon it's a definite non-starter for me. Cheers take care.
The plastic panels between the pillion seat and foot pegs rubbed against the missuses legs above her ankles when we both sat on one. Shame cos I liked it.
48:38 unfortunately it's not always possible these days to get test rides, OK Honda's are not bad but with less dealers out there and depending on the make and model it can be tricky, and that's only new, 2nd hand it's usually not possible
Cheers Gaz, you should get a ride on one your a bit taller than me you may find it ok, The seat is really uncomfy after 1hr, but I would still have the NC👍👍👍
@BirchwoodBiker - try the Honda Forza 750. Same platform as the X-adv but better. Makes me regret having just bought the NC750x DCT. Also, quite a bit lower than the x-adv 750
You have said many times that you are short, but I have not heard you say what height you are. I am 5.10 and thinking of getting one, but now you are worrying me as I am now 75 years old and would not want to fall over being too short for this bike. Please say what you are.
He said at the start that he is 5 10 with 30 inleg. I’m same and tip toe the bike both sides. The boards makes difficult to hold the bike and I as him almost dropped at junction. The incline wasn’t that bad it’s just awkward with shorter legs. The nc it is for me too, lower seat, and 4k cheaper too.
@@birchwoodbiker just got the ADV 350, 9 days ago, and it's just fantastic. Comfortable, eats city traffic and motorways, leaves cars for dust. Amazing mirrors too, compared to my previous two bikes.
We don’t get this model only ADV150 sat on it found due to wide in the seat couldn’t reach the floor 5.8 31 inside leg.nc not released new here.was born in Salford now live in Australia. The wife and I have the cb500x does everything commute and touring purchased our bikes 2020. ike you unable to easily stop on uneven surface or incline at a t junction I am not interested. I know as soon as I sit on a bike if I can handle it.i don’t know what I will replace the Honda with maybe be an Enfield shotgun when it’s release down under. Ride safe
I new as soon as I took it out the gate, they have narrowed it, it wouldn't touch the cb500x on dirt roads, the previous NC was brilliant as it had a better suspension, you miss the smooth running on the NV vs the Enfield, I'm lucky I have the Himmy, it's very unrefinded but that's why people like it,the 650 shotgun may be great twin 650 send some pics👍👍👍
23:41 no it's not, the whole 'half a jazz engine' myth needs burial, yes the car divisions put in design ideas and knowledge which was a first for Honda, and yes a few of the internals are very similar like the tappets and rockers, but the crank is very different, so basically the car engine story is based on a humorous comment made by the lead project manager at the 2012 launch, and the collaboration of the card division.
It's amazing how it started with men and motors and MCN, it's like the bible a story that will keep been told, I realise it's missing gear stick and UGLY Looks🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
love the bike but to heavy to wide, and ride was no where near as comfy as the Himmy, I had it for the day, but still a brilliant bike for what it's trying to be👍👍👍
I imagine those small wheels on bumpy roads/light off road are not going to be the smoothest ride. As an only bike that you want to have the option of commuting, tours and light offroad its pretty good. Not my choice though.
On the roads and back lanes twisties it's fantastic, it's no off roader like the big channels say it is Heavy and Hard ride over rough roads, I'm sure ir you put the foot peggs on it would improve, But the NC is still for me👍👍👍
Personally I think it's a bit of an expensive novelty with too many shortcomings especially if as you say you're short in leg, a scooter needs to be super comfy and easy to manoeuvre including at low speeds, I guess it's just not one thing or the other, neither bike nor proper scooter 🤷🏻♂️
I'm glad they have made the dash less busy.
My very first bike after the mods. Wonderful bike....if it wasn't for my NC , I'd still be on that.
I loved the bike maybe platform shoes would help me 🤣🤣👍
@@birchwoodbiker I put riders footpegs on it....Changed the ride completely for the better
I've got a 2018 X-ADV 750 and a 1250GS. The X-ADV is my fav bike!! Makes no sense given the power difference etc.

I owned one awesome bike comfortable good fuel economy 👍🏴

Cheers Paul it's the width of the bike great to ride👍👍👍
So much to be said for these bikes, but it isn't enough to see off my NC750X
same for me 👍👍👍
The plastic panels between the pillion seat and foot pegs rubbed against the missuses legs above her ankles when we both sat on one. Shame cos I liked it.
lovely bike but it's not that big for pillion even though it looks it, I still take my NC 1st👍👍👍
You need the adventure pegs on it to be able to stand up properly, I have a 2022 one and I do love it, and it was brilliant round the Isle of Man👍🏻
Yes the boards push you to fat forward great bike though👍👍👍

I knowlooks are subjective but only it's mother could love that bike.
It's Marmite, I quite like the looks from the front but side and back just didn't do it for me👍👍👍
Thanks for doing this video, I've been wondering if I should have gone for the XADV instead, but it's a bit more expensive than the NC 👍
Cheers Gaz, you should get a ride on one your a bit taller than me you may find it ok, The seat is really uncomfy after 1hr, but I would still have the NC👍👍👍

Love to try one if I can, there slimmer and the 750x enging is brilliant👍👍👍

@@birchwoodbiker Thanks; I may now look at the Forza as I think it is slightly shorter in height.

I love the idea of this bike. I just dont like the odd 15" rear wheel.
You really can't tell it rides as well as the Africa Twin, get a ride on one you be amazed👍👍👍
If you try the ADV350 you would be pleasantly surprised
I actually think I would prefer the 350 I had c400x maxi scooter and wish I would have kept it

If you have a short leg, maybe you should have tried the nc750s, which has a lower seat than the X

for us shortarses, we have the Forza 750. :)
I'm 165cm. Can I ride it?
34:38 that road looks horrible 😮
It wasn't quiet Holy Bush Lane, but not far off👍👍
Sorry buddy, £11,200 ? Wow.
£9000 for the new NC 750X DCT.
I know what I would buy.
Me to The NC for me is still a much better bike
I would like the brakes suspension dash and rear break lever🤔🤔🤔🤣👍
@@birchwoodbiker Go for Forza 750, then.
Give the forza 750 a test?
If I can get my hands on one def will👍👍👍
It looks like a scooter.
it looks like one but Def isn't 6 gears there fantastic👍👍👍🍻
I didn’t watch your video because I disliked the look of it so much. Did it handle well on the bends and at low speed in traffic?
it's a great bike but being honest I'd have the NC all day long over it, it's tall and quite wide👍👍👍
