The Dirndl is my personal favorite of all heritage/folkwear styles of dress - just so flattering, beautiful, and feminine! Loved the reveal footage as well! What a gorgeous country. Really appreciate the quality of all of your content, and looking forward to further projects from you in the new year!
You don’t realise how iconic a movie scene is until you’re two seconds in and have already picked the reference... took me a moment longer to realise that it was you and not from the actual movie 😂 Beautiful work and fits you so well!
I cannot get over how pretty this turned out! I'm German, and even though I'm not from the South, a drindl is defenitely on my sewing bucket list!!! :)
In the U.S., we call "this rolling device" a tracing wheel, although rolling device works too. When I can't remember the name, the object usually becomes a whatchamacallit. Your dirndl looks great. Thanks for sharing part of your trip to this lovely location. And, Happy belated Birthday and Happy New Year!
Yes, of course! A Tracing wheel! Now that you say it, I remember that's what it's called, I just apparently had the longest brain fart ever 😅Thank you, and Happy New Year to you too!
I made a phantom of the opera inspired Dirndl in fashion school last year 🥰 I'm Austrian and at my school it's usually done, since it's our traditional dress here and this year we make fitting jackets 😍
This is gorgeous! Also thank you for this video! My family is from Austria and Germany, and I’ve been wanting to make a dirndl as a way to be closer to my culture, and now I have a better idea on how to do that :)
Some very helpful tips and a beautiful dirndl! I will be back at the Munich Oktoberfest next year and planning to make a dirndl for the visit. I wish you would have included the construction of the apron as well. I really like the updated straps with the buckles instead of having ties. Is the fabric just under the waist gathered using several lines, or is it shirring (or smocking)? Danke!

I wanted to make a Dirndl so badly after watching “the Sound of Music”. Then you played the intro and I new this was the video for me!!

Unfortunately I bought the apron, that's why I didn't show it being made :) It's gathered by like 6-7 parallel lines
Ok. Thanks for answering!@@AspiringCostumeDesigner
