Matt I want to say thank you for this series of gaia, i'm just learning you are a great teacher and patient. I live on east cost so challenging to find trails, Thank you Love your content
Good to see how you use GAIA. Thanks. 1. Two of the dead-end side trails off frog bayou trail have huge waterfalls nearly as good as the main frog bayou falls. 2. I see your Crystal Mill and Devils Punchbowl photos on the wall behind you. Those are awesome trails we love to ride. Marble to Crested Butte is great area. Thanks for taking time to document your process Matt.
love these videos .. wife and I explored a few trails and camped in the Ozarks for the first time this past weekend...such a beautiful place, was the first time i took my Tacoma on some trails other than backroads, and you are some of them are TIGHT lol, came home with a few new beauty marks down the side, no biggy, thats why i bought the truck!!
I appreciate you taking the time to put all this together. It proves to me that trying to overland in Arkansas is an absolute waste of my time so I’ll continue to go west. The idea that the forest service can right a ticket for traveling on a “closed road” without notification is appalling
I understand what you're saying and it's frustrating. But when you figure it out it's very rewarding and beautiful. I do love traveling out west as well!!
Thanks for the video! 60 miles is a lot to cover in a day in that area? On adventure motorcycles I am used to covering at least double that in a day in the Missouri Ozarks or northern Arkansas. I'm new to the 4x4 thing, so getting a feel for how many miles I can cover in a day is something I am going to have to get a feel for. When planning a route for adventure motorcycling I am always thinking about alternate routes. Having alternate routes thought out ahead of time saves a lot of time in the field.
I would say 60 miles is a long day. I tend to pick more technical trails so you can't move fast. I've had days where we barely covered 20 miles after a full day wheeling. All depends on the trail conditions and how many scenic stops you make.
Have you had a chance to try out Gaia GPS on AppleCarPlay? I am having a hard time finding a good place to mount my ipad in my Subaru and I am seriously considering updating my 2010 Forester with a radio unit that has CarPlay. Gaia updated to utilize carplay close to a year ago but I was wondering if it works well, or just gets by. Thanks
I watched your videos again because we're going to do some trails soon. I decided to just get someone else plan the route. I've always just been a paper map or just get out and explore kind of person. Never gave used a GPS.

Kody Kline glad you liked it. Both Arkansas and Colorado have amazing places. Arkansas is home but we go to Colorado and sometimes Moab every year.

Travis Warner thank you so much. I’m glad you had a great time!! The Ozarks are a special place.
Great series of videos Matt!
Another great video ! I learn a lot from them thank you.
Thank you!!

Are you going to post this route in the Files on Natural State Overlands FB Account?
Mike Bromberg lol. Nope. I just showed you how to create it.

The maps in OnX Offroad have been great.
This video was made before OnX was a thing. Lol. And OnX and Gaia have the same MVU Maps.

It works well but it’s limited. You don’t get the full functionality on the CarPlay screen but it’s great for viewing the map and where you are.
is there a way for you to share your giai maps?
All my routes are private and I only share them with people I know and trust. I hope you understand.
If someone could bring these 4 or 5 maps of gibberish together into 1 useful map. They could make millions
That's what I love about Gaia. You can layer the maps into whatever you want.
