    I am confused here, i mean,can a person be of average IQ and still have overexcitabilities?

      Yes, overexcitability can occur across different levels of intelligence including average.

      This would be a great question to tackle on the podcast in a Quick Bite episode. I'd argue that developmental potential looks different in gifted individuals, and the gifted experience of overexcitability is different than for typically-developing individuals. Because of their advanced cognitive abilities, gifted children and adolescents often experience early multilevel dynamisms. But OEs and DP are not only for the gifted.
