People mean to this expansion while they forget that THIS is a build-up story expansion after the long and depressed and hopeful 5 saga expansions end. Please, you cannot top the Endwalker-saga with just one expansion.
No sorry. Anyone who makes this argument is incredibly off base or doesnt understand what good writing entails. It has absolutely nothing to do with "build up". Taken as an isolated narrative, it was incredibly weak. Do the same with HW or ShB for example and the same is entirely untrue. Stakes do not make or break a story, you can absolutely write a great story with new characters, locations and events, etc etc. This was not it. Not by a long shot. Regardless of what future stuff they are "setting up"
@@Exeeter1234 You have NO idea what good writing is. Building up a plot is LITERALLY an integral part of any good story, without exception. This theme was SO unexpected and I was obsessed from the moment I first heard it midway through msq. The music has consistently just gotten better and better every expansion. Soken is absolutely brilliant!
I actually kinda am happy this was the ending theme, for one because it was so different to that of all the other expansions that were all very much in similiar style, so having this for the start of a new journey is fine, EXSPECIALLY at least for me because this expansion was not about the WoL really, like we were never before quite as much in a background support role as we were here for Wuk Lamat, so for me this was truely her Expansion and for her that theme kinda fits, with her ideology of happiness and also her more positive outlook on life and death Explanation for the Wuk Lamat thing: Normally even if expansion like stormblood with lyse had front and center characters it was always the WoL who had to defeat the big enemies, so it was alone the WoL and people supporting the WoL in some way that drove the main story In comparrison in dawntrail is that we never truely did anything meaningful without Wuk Lamat being front and center, like all the feats were her ideas and understanding the people or us supporting her, the fights she always was there even in the none trust trial and lastly we were quite often litterally told to stand aside and let her do what only she as the leader should do, which for me is fine simply because power scaling wise the wol is a monster for the writers i guess exspecially if you want to start the next arc in a way where you do not want to have our enemy and the stakes be something that power wise is stronger than despair personafied, sonce staring slower lets you build up a story once again BUT i also understand if people are kinda dissapointed with the player taking such a beackseat in comparrison to pretty much all the other expansions and did not enjoy being forced to be the support this time since it is a self insert MMO which normally does put the players in the main active roles
This is the first expansion that WoL become a mentor, real mentor to Wuk Lamat. We already beat the cosmic side enemy, this is our time to take part as mentor.
@@bebekkurushonestly I would have liked for at least one section where we try to do things as usual only for it to blow up in our face, showing that even for as experienced as we are we are still fallible and have room to grow as a mentor. Even if it’s piss off pretty much the entire fanbase lol.

Why are the back singers loud as hell?
Regardless of what future stuff they are "setting up"
here is me who loves this expansion, probably my favorite expac as a whole, SHB and EW were peak story, but DT was PEAK in everything else
@@blackandwhiteduo4971 Same, i'm an oldhead from eaerly HW and I still love this expac so far
@@Exeeter1234 You have NO idea what good writing is. Building up a plot is LITERALLY an integral part of any good story, without exception. ALL isolated narratives are "weak" if they amount to nothing else, or are designed to not amount to anything else.
Stop pretending you're an expert. It's embarrassing to watch.
This part is especially sad:
>This was not it. Not by a long shot. >>>Regardless
@@optimaltt6070 Yeah! You can't say that it sucked because we haven't seen the next three expansions yet! That would be like watching a 30 hour long movie and saying that you didn't enjoy it when you haven't even seen the sequels! Your opinion is invalid! But of course mine that says that it was good is fine. /s
Help, my ears are hurting
Disney ass song
What’s the big deal guys? You don’t like my black church’s gospel music? Bigots.
🤡
High school musical x FFXIV let's go
Wild Cats! Everywhere!
This reminds me about the type of bangers we got from FF13-2
Had some trouble with the vocals at the start, felt the singer was kinda struggling ? But it's growing on me tbh. Not as good as the two previous ones, but nice nonetheless.
It's really whiny, idk why they thought that'd be necessary. It might be the whiniest lead vocals in existence, odd choice. And oddly mixed. The choir sounds like they're a room over meanwhile the lead has the mic down her throat. Maybe the theme is stepping out of your comfort zone
Because that's definitely what happened here with the creation of this track lol
It’s the lady who sang Scream in Pandemonium, AKINO from Bless4. She sings really well so I’m not sure how they managed to get her to mangle this song let alone think this was acceptable for a final take.
@@brianngo8172 completely agree shes amazing, just some odd choices on this one by the producers and mixers
Same notes sounded slightly off during her solo part… I really like the uplifting choir later on though.
She's glissing everything, that's def a director's choice
me when cider spider disconnects
Terrible. Shameful when compared to dragonsong/tomorrow and tomorrow/flow
This is awful.
lmao skipping this expac was a good idea after all
I guess im the only one who really liked this song???
Seems like it, I hope you get well soon though.
You and the shills for Wuk Lamat's English VA.
I absolutely love it too. I don't get all the hate for this song... I mean, it's not my favorite, but I think it's really fitting for Dawntrail who is supposed to be a more chill and happy story compared to ShB and Endwalker
@@realname8362I hope you find the whimsy and curiosity missing from your life ❤
I like part of it, and then not so much the other parts.
Soken tricked me into liking Christian Rock the last few expansions, I think I can enjoy gospel too.
This is the worst song I've heard in a game.
2:26, horrible performed there, what the fuck is that "carry on" LMAO.
The pitch for “carry on” should be going up, instead it’s going down for some indiscernible reason.
not a star in the sky aroun to guide be to leaaaah 🤣🤣
this song is so bad i fucking cant
I wonder if the backing vocals are voice synths? Cuz they don’t seem to have the cohesion of a live vocalist
This theme was SO unexpected and I was obsessed from the moment I first heard it midway through msq. The music has consistently just gotten better and better every expansion. Soken is absolutely brilliant!
I hate this song so much...why am I here!?
I actually kinda am happy this was the ending theme, for one because it was so different to that of all the other expansions that were all very much in similiar style, so having this for the start of a new journey is fine, EXSPECIALLY at least for me because this expansion was not about the WoL really, like we were never before quite as much in a background support role as we were here for Wuk Lamat, so for me this was truely her Expansion and for her that theme kinda fits, with her ideology of happiness and also her more positive outlook on life and death
Explanation for the Wuk Lamat thing:
Normally even if expansion like stormblood with lyse had front and center characters it was always the WoL who had to defeat the big enemies, so it was alone the WoL and people supporting the WoL in some way that drove the main story
In comparrison in dawntrail is that we never truely did anything meaningful without Wuk Lamat being front and center, like all the feats were her ideas and understanding the people or us supporting her, the fights she always was there even in the none trust trial and lastly we were quite often litterally told to stand aside and let her do what only she as the leader should do, which for me is fine simply because power scaling wise the wol is a monster for the writers i guess exspecially if you want to start the next arc in a way where you do not want to have our enemy and the stakes be something that power wise is stronger than despair personafied, sonce staring slower lets you build up a story once again
BUT i also understand if people are kinda dissapointed with the player taking such a beackseat in comparrison to pretty much all the other expansions and did not enjoy being forced to be the support this time since it is a self insert MMO which normally does put the players in the main active roles
@@stitches1110 Haha.. yeah, it would be great to show Lamat’y that failure is a common things and how to handle it.
@@bebekkurus exactly. And given how many parallels to shadowbringiners there are in heritage lost on, you’d think that the wol would be more open to speaking with Wuk Lamat about his experiences with Emet, and his own battle over the lives of two civilizations.
The WOL this expansion was the sleeping eldritch horror just waiting for someone to try something lol
This song sounds like what I expect a parody of this song to sound like.
Speak to Wuk Lamat again
This is kind of ass, what happened to FFXIV music in this expansion?
Really good for the most part, raids all have great themes, but this is so bad 🤣
This theme does a great job representing what this expansion is about, and I adore it for that.
Yeah it's bad and this song is a perfect representation of it
Actual dogcrap? I agree
@@CorruptedMaterial what's with the toxicity? Where are you tourists coming from? Go back.
@@crimsonpotemkin I just think the expansion is bad, not everyone has to like things you do you are not the main character. Expansion is horrible story-wise compared to every other one, the dungeons and trials are good though.
Also why are you using 4chan lingo outside 4chan.
@@CorruptedMaterial You're free to think anything about an expansion or anything at all. But why go and rain on someone's enjoyment just to be vitriolic ? That's the toxic part of it
fire wuk lamat
im kinda neutral to the song. i feel it’s a weird tonal after what we essentially did in the last zone. it’s reminds me of that one song from that circus movie that came out a short while ago
THE GREATEST SHOWMAN. THAT EXPLAINS IT. I knew the sound of the chorus was making me think of something, and you're so right.
I really really do not like this song.
Rare Soken L
Common Soken W
I think I would've liked this song more if any of the moments that it played at were earned.
Theres a part of me that hopes we get a more combat-oriented version of this(Like Flow into Flow Together), during some sort of battle where positive Dynamis is overflowing from us and our allies, or maybe a friendly battle with Wuk Lamat, Koana, and Bakool Ja Ja
I was hoping to see the part of the mix from the trailer get made into a full ost, the part with the lyrics "just imagine what's around the bend"
I just love so much how you can hear the "Close in the distance" theme in this one. Every new journey builds upon a legacy we lived through. No memories are forgotten. We are who we are because we are formed by everything we live through
Cringe manifested in song form
and thats whats great about it. because anyone affected by cringe is lame as hell
if you base your enjoyment on things on whether other people seeing you enjoy said thing is embarassing then you're way too insecure and need to love yourself more
THIS is Dawntrails version of Dragonsong/Tomorrow and Tomorrow/Flow????? It's never been so over... Disaster expansion.
Its sung in a very broadway manner vs hollywood pop musical. Its not for everyone, I personally like it.
