    I successfully fixed my Mitsubishi remote control screen. Was able to do confidently after watching your video.
    I used a thick piece of cardboard with aluminium on one side and applied 2 drops of liquid glue to stick it to the screen.
    Thank you so much Lawrence

    I just wanted to let you know that I had an unrelated issue (buttons not responding) on this model of remote and yours was the only video I could easily find when searching for any guides on opening the device up. I knew from other repair videos on other devices that there had to be some kind of clips holding it together since there's no visible exterior screws, but I didn't want to risk damage to the unit just shimmying under the plastic blindly. I rent, so I couldn't afford to either have to pay for the damaged remote when I move out, or to break it so badly that I had to pay for a new one immediately. Five minutes later and my remote is back together, the contacts for the buttons having been cleaned with IPA, and now they're more responsive than when I first moved in. Cheers for self-reparability! Thank you!

    This tricks works. I used aluminum foil which I pressed against the glass using some thin foam from a protective bag. And the video is outstanding. Detailed recording, no elevated speed playback, no music. Thanks a lot.

    Many thanks Lawrence! I followed your method but glued a simple kitchen aluminium foil to the back of display glass. It works well. 😁

    Tks bro, managed to apply the same fix to my Toshiba aircon remote and its working great. I've got 3 other controls that have same problem which I'll fix soon. Tks again for the great fix/hack!

    Great video. I’ve wondered how to open my remote without breaking it and now I know to feel for the clips. You’ve saved my sanity! Thank you.

    Thanks for the walk thru. It is helpful. But I didn't know the materials involved. Had to improvise the foil part. Lol... in the end i got it done. Thanks!!

    Great help, simply showing how to pull apart was what I needed to know. Now fixed. Thank you.

    I used just a plain white paper , and it worked. Better than previously almost half of the screen black. Great video , albeit the difficult task to disassembly of the housing

    Thank you, Lawrence. Your video is very helpful considering I’m using the exact same model too and wondering how to disassemble the thing itself since there weren’t any screws

      No prob. The opening of the casing is the biggest hurdle. Once pass that, things get a lot easier. Happy fixing 🙏

    Great video help me in my repair of my 3 Mitsubishi KM09G remote
    Can use plain thick plain white paper, not need to buy adhesive reflective foil.
    The white rubber stopper piece at 09:35 and the 2 upper protruding upper part of the main rubber piece 24:37
    will help to hold paper in place when reassemble back

    Hi Lawrence, thanks very much for the very well explained video. I have watched other video such as repairing Gameboy screen where only the front polarised transparent sheet is changed. I scouted Shopee and found that the back sheet aka reflector backlight which is also polarised and needs to be rotated appropriately too. I have quite a lot of my LCD displays giving me such dark patches especially my elliptical machines which has no spare parts but cost a good USD3000. Any clarification you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Is it the front or the back sheet that is causing the trouble?

    • @HdBanger
      @HdBanger  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I’m not a technical guy. So I’m not sure what front polarised transparent sheet is about. The removal of the fading silver piece and replacing with a aluminum foil, was pasted at the back of the led screen. Hope that helps.

    Good work, but what should I do if glass broken? Please guide

    • @HdBanger
      @HdBanger  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I haven’t come across that situation. All likelihood u have to get a replacement remote. They should sell them online. I don’t think it’s economical to buy just that part.

  • @hellothere6477

    I used a white cardboard instead of the foil. Replaced 2 today but 1 of the contacts for the screen drop out from the screen completely and the screen can't work now. Any way to salvage this situation?

    • @HdBanger
      @HdBanger  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I won’t advise paper or cardboard in this case cos it won’t hold on to the glass panel well. I assume the contact u are referring to are the two rubbery sides of the glass. I have no advice, since tt is an important part, and I was careful not to dislocate it.

    • @berniesih5021
      @berniesih5021 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The rubbery strips can actually be removed. You need to make sure that they are properly aligned with the circuit board when you put it back. If you have lost the correct orientation, just change the positions until you get it right.

    May i know what is the liquid you use to clean the screen ? Thank you very much

    • @HdBanger
      @HdBanger  ปีที่แล้ว

      Isopropyl alcohol. IPA in short. Can get fr local pharmacy. I can’t remember the percentage concentration. But it’s also used for cleaning other regular stuff. Like my computer cpu. I get mine fr nearby pharmacy. Off the shelf

    • @HdBanger
      @HdBanger  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, I don’t know about the brand. If the screen is dead, maybe trying to do a reset or change of battery may revive it. Just a suggestion.

      It’s some tape I ordered online. I merely searched using the keywords aluminum foil tape.

    • @HdBanger

      Anything that is silver color. Which is what the original was pasted with. As some shared, white paper also works, just need to secure it to the screen.

    Hi..this foil can repair motorbike meter

    • @HdBanger
      @HdBanger  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I’ve no idea. Depends on the components in your meter, if they have the same principle. It will hinge on whether there’s a foil at the backing of the glass display, and if that piece can be removed. I tried to apply this fix on some calculators. But the foil behind seemed to be stuck firmly to the panel.
