We had a guy in Deni that used to tell people where the fish weren't, but of course they were the better spots to give a go for Murray Cod, he just didn't like people there when he was fishing. Awesome job finding the fish Mick and yes, sometimes it takes a bit of scouting around and tring different baits, but that is half the fun. Great job and have yourself a terrific weekend.
Cheers heaps as always legend, it's strange the person who did the video never really comes to this section and hasn't seem too for years now... He showed up made a video and then kept complaining about the area during the next few videos. I think the river is doing great but still definitely suffering in areas, there is a lot that could be done to better protect our waterways, unfortunately we all know that is unlikely to happen 😔
Very true, don't believe what you hear! Someone told my wife yesterday that there's no fish in the river that I film all my videos in LOL. What a beautiful waterway! Mate you're too good at those skip casts haha. I'll have to make a trip to some bass territory this year, I've never caught one. Great video mate full of tips
Cheers mate, really appreciate you watching and leaving such an awesome comment, it would definitely be great to watch you get some bass in the near future 👍 Just like everything practice makes perfect when it comes to the skip casting 🎣
Lol, I lose count of the number of people telling me I won't catch fish in my drain. It is the best when I then I get a fish while they are still around ;)
back in the 70/80s we would fish down past the weir near the rock baskets n caught plenty mullet , big ones n few nice trout .i moved to qld in 85 n went back penrith in 03 n ppl told me dont swim in the river lol . as a kid we go to the mud pits n then hangout at the weir traps great times cept for the snakes lol
My step dad used to me stories of doing the same thing back when he was a kid, Unfortunately he passed away recently but every chance you probably bumped into him down there back in the day 👍 After floods we still get plenty of trout and they hang about until it gets too hot... Still plenty of life in the river
Awesome And Great fishing🎣🎣🎣🐟🐟🐟😍👍🏻extraordinary The nature is beautiful, cool, the place is very beautiful, I like it, congratulations on your successful work, Amen, thank you, my dear friend💝
Hey mate , You covered a lot of the spots I fish most days and your right theres plenty of bass there ,what I have found this season is the closer you get to the weir the harder it is to get one . Good choice in lure too ,I tried a white frog for the last couple of days and found it hard to land one ,switched to a dark blue frog and straight on ,that last spot you were at has been "the" spot for me this season pulled out some nice bass there, nice video mate .
Cheers legend appreciate you watching 👍 I always like the dark colours for Bass and unlike others I don't change that due to the lighting on the day 👍 It's that dark silhouette on the surface they see best, I have had great luck on red frogs as well though. After my camera died, I got another 4-5 on the walk back up as well. I agree about the Weir but this rain might help, also on the same day I caught a decent one (high 30s) right under the Weir as I came back up river Thanks again mate
The short was filmed yesterday afternoon I think this will only make for better fishing once the flow slows down a little. I still managed a 86cm carp on plastic in Peachtree creek itself yesterday, that will be my video next week 👍
I have eaten a Bass and an eel from this section, people will say not too but the odd fish won't hurt, the river is mainly so dirty looking because it's full of carp... I swim in it regularly since the floods because these days it has no smell and looks very clear. So I would say it's fine but I wouldn't catch my dinner there on a regular basis
Thought id message you on an older vid ahaha but you were with mrmolske Right? 2 green fish dont just happen in nepean ahaha you were surley up near where they are in the “nepean” Surley hahah
Bro I promise you not far from Penrith, It's something I never would have expected to happen obviously. One let alone 2 still feels like I'm dreaming, something just went right that night. They are definitely there and someone caught one not far a while back now close to a meter. I have talked to you about it before, you would pass it in your boat 👍

Yeah I agree mate, I spend many an afternoon walking from cassola pl to Russel st 👍 I have seen many bass caught in the 50s over the years as well, Lost a few myself to snags 😂 But hey it's all a part of fishing 👍🎣
I have spent a good 18yrs on it myself and the health of the river is looking the best it has since the last floods when I was a kid. I remember after the floods when I was younger, even at wallacia where I grew up was clear 👍
Exactly right Shane 👍 Always appreciate the comments and we will definitely have to catch up for that fish soon, the spot you wanted to hit might go okay after this rain 👍
Sometimes the more you know a system the more it can help, I just don't understand what was going on in the video I saw... The guy can definitely catch fish and knows Bass well, yet was casting into full sun and fishing middle of the day in the heat... If you are going to fish full sun you have to cast the shadows 👍

I wouldn't exactly call it a secret spot, anyone can walk down the river.... On days I walk all the way to Russel st catching bass, there are plenty there for everyone.
@@shanewannell3481 I like that approach 👍 I have done 2 secret locations and the reason being, is because mates have given me the spot or they are on private land of people I know 👍 Walking down the nepean isn't really a secret spot now anyway 😂 Always appreciate the comments Shane
