I am so glad to see both you and @vinylreckoning talking about them. I love them so much. I saw them at Radio City Music Hall when I was in vacation in NY in like 2008 or something. Do you have Colin Meloy’s solo stuff or Tarkio as well?
Hi Andy, loving the enthusiasm! I’m a big fan of the Decemberists, all on CD however. I wasn’t aware of The Tain or Always the Bridesmaid so will check them out. By the way you do know it’s Pennyfarthing and not Pennyfarther? Andy
Do check out “Joan in the Garden” - seriously blew my mind! It’s kind of a three parter across it’s 19.3 minute length, with the middle one being more of an instrumental breakdown. The third part is a hefty rocker and the first one is just plain GOOD! I’m probably going to do a road trip to Nashville in late May to catch them, even though they’ll be in DFW earlier that month.
bro! finally a channel that talks about one of my most beloved bands! I precisely have the 3 albums that you are missing from your The Decemberist collection. My favorite will always be The King is Dead because of his relationship with R.E.M. Good video bro!

I used to have Colin Melloy Live on vinyl but sold it a number of years ago. I do have a few of his solo cover CD EPs still though!
Colin Meloy also wrote my favorite book ever, The Whiz Mob and the Grenadine Kid
Crane wife! 😊🎉
So good!! Dude… you gotta check out “Joan in the Garden”

I do, but always forget re: Pennyfarthing. 🤦♂️ The Tain is one of my favorites by the band… you are in for a treat!
Look at us liking the same band. To be fair I’m not an “active” fan but I’ve never heard a song I didn’t like.

I need to give The King Is Dead another listen for sure! Glad you enjoyed it!
King is Dead is a notoriously bad pressing: majorly off-center so the needle jumps all over the place.
