  • Typically scp is used to copy files to a remote server. In this video, I show how to use it to copy files from a remote server to your local machine, with the option of using a pem key for a secure connection.

I think its important to support people that take the time off to make these tutorials. Sure it can be frustrating when they're not up to snuff but we shouldn't always take them to ask.
I think this is a great try.
But in the future, consider what i suggested in making videos!

Wow, awesome feedback, very constructive and specific, which is super helpful! Honestly, I just made this one on a whim cause it's something I lookup all the time so I wanted to get it in a place that would be helpful for me. That's how I come up with many of my videos. But it's great to get feedback on it. These are good points for a v2 of this video.

Question on the type of files that can be on the server. How would it be affected by heavier files like raw footage or heavy project files? Asking because I'm an editor and plan to live abroad but need an easy way to store/have access to these files while away.

he's making a tutorial to teach people how to send files via scp and also paranoid about it, hiding letters, typing in parables, well I guess some people are not cut out for this teaching stuff

Always good to be secure, even if chances for an attack seem far fetched! Hopefully the video was helpful otherwise

Let me know if there’s anything specific you think I could do to make it better. Honestly I made this video so I would remember how to do it haha but it would be nice if it could be more helpful for you or other people so let me know

To help other people out! Anything in particular that you think could make it better?

@@ReadWriteExercise - I think you know your work well, but the video and tutorial isn't at all well done.
You should possible follow some of the other better tutorials online.
It's short, which is good but lacks substance.
      1) write down what you intend to do and put it on the screen
      2) show step by step. open terminal, log into terminal, (ssh)
      3) what scp is, what i is, are you using recursive r?
      4) what's the server's address(ip) and when you're on the server vs when you're on the local machine.
      5) use real life examples. If you need to, maybe use a virtual machine so you can show the result. Don't just block out the data.
