I love that Amity was actually kind of into the tunnel of love, and Luz’s insecurities made her react in a way that lead Amity to believe that Luz didn’t actually want to date her. The scene where they actually do ask each other is awkward as hell, but instead of being cringey, it’s just plain adorable. Also love Eda’s surprise and support of Luz’s feelings! Fantastic episode!

Literally everything about this was perfect.
Brilliant LGBT+ representation aside, can we just appreciate the most realistic representation of a developing romantic relationship in any kind of media so far. Most relationships I've seen, even on the best movies or shows, fall into one of 2 categories: the people involved are basically predestined to end up together due to circumstances, selective introduction or forced writing, with the usual useless will-they-won't-they arcs that nobody falls for (ex: AtlA with Aang and Katara, B99 with Jake and Amy, any MCU movie that has the tiniest trace of a romantic subplot) or one of the characters goes to increasingly ludicrous shenanigans to eventually win over/ wear down their love interest (ex: TBBT with Leonard and Penny, Literally any Disney Channel show from the 2000's). None of that happens to people in real life who have feelings for each other. You know what does happen? Awkward silences, vague gestures, questioning EVERYTHING you say or do, before, after and while you're doing or saying it.
For all of that alone, The Owl House owns a place in the media hall of fame and my heart for ever !!
Facts. Not to mention the "now what?" part after. Teen love is messy AF and this show gets it.

Knowing that Luz has ADHD and definitely experiences Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria really makes her scenes struggling with it hit different. Especially as a fellow ADHD-haver.

Ive noticied the same. Paticularly with Luz they give her a lot of small body language movements which adds to how energetic she is.
I love how in season 1 we were all thinking Luz was going to be super dense about the whole thing and maybe if we were lucky we'd get a last minute hookup and now we're here in the middle of season 2 and they're both blushing messes and they're dating. Kudos to Dana and company for blowing expectations completely out of the water!

Im reading the one star reviews on the owl house from google and judging by what the christians had to say in their reviews WOOOOOH are they FURIOUS right now
as a bisexual, I literally almost cried watching this. I had no idea that I would be able to see a romance between a couple of kids without the weird sexual angle that is often thrown on gay relationships. This is shown in a very sweet light, not like the way I' m used to seeing same-gendered stuff play out ( as if same-gender romance is somehow inherently deviant) I cannot thank Dana enough for not playing into the 'will they or won't they' dynamic snd being straightforward how the characters feel.

3:30 Amity's greatest fear was getting rejected by the person that she has crush on. At this moment, it was even worse than a rejection. Amity thought the girl she loved doesn't feel the same way, in fact she was disgusted of the idea of dating her. She cried after Luz finished destroying all the romantic stuff. Must be really heartbroken here.

My heart did ache when Amity said 'us dating hmph that stupid right' but when they both confessed that healed me so cuteee. This is the best episode everrrr thanksss hooty
Everytime I see these two together crushing on each other it just melts my heart into a gooey puddle.
I seriously can't remember the last time I was so giddy to see two characters embrace their relationship. It's awkward but also so heartfelt and pure. I LOVE IT.

We've known since ep 1 she was an outcast. She found acceptance here but past experiences won't let her believe it's sustainable. She's always waiting for the other shoe to drop. That's why she tries so hard to keep people liking her.
I think we should get some kind of backstory where Luz has a crush on a girl in the human realm but the girl rejects her and tells her she's not into girls and makes fun of her. I think it would take the representation to a new level and would be a relatable situation for wlw girls.

I mean just Imagine that she's literally in a 'Tunnel of Love' with her crush and she's not able to enjoy it because she'll think that she's gonna make fun of is so sad.. instead of enjoying it she worries, knowing that she often gets bullied and labeled with unpleasant words (cheesy, loser).

This episode was just a rollercoaster of emotions from cackling over hooty, screaming and awwing over lumity, and also feeling nervous/sad over Eda, King, and Lumity angst

god the tunnel of love scene still breaks my heart even though I know it all turns out okay in the end, cause Amity’s so bewildered at first and more scared that neither of them know what’s happening, but then sees the tunnel of love and finds it cheesy but also so adorable and flattering, and thinks Luz is trying to ask her out, but then Luz, worried Amity thinks it’s lame, starts destroying it, and Amity interprets it as her destroying the possibility of a relationship (evident when Luz says “I’m sorry, Amity, this is NOT supposed to happen!!”). She’s clearly heartbroken, and I’m so glad Luz explains her true intentions behind destroying it (thinking Amity was too cool for it) and asks her out for real later, but man, this hurt to watch in the moment.
honestly the fact that lumity became canon in the most chaotic neutral episode of all media ever, speaks of itself :D

I thought her conflict would be on the portal!! I was watching with my family and I literally spat out the breakfast bar I was eating.
I think one of my favorite parts about the whole love tunnel sequence is that it makes complete sense about both of their reactions. Luz is afraid of being too extra and pushing Amity away due to her eccentricity (The main reason she doesn’t have friends in the human realm). While Amity is completely entranced due to it one of the nicest and seeming sincere thing she’s ever experienced (with most people being nice to her due to her status and nothing else really).
