Great video thanks. Love the terminator, such a tiny compact and powerful flashlight, easy to use, amazing Lep with useful setting for the wide spot, and natural warm colour rendering with nichia 519a flood led.
Mann i need you i have the astrolux wp3 with 3km lep but i want a good floodlight and and spotlight in 1 i dont know wich one i want the m1 or m2 , i think m1 is soo beuty and good ligt but is the flood better on m2 , but i also like the zoom on m1
Nice! I just picked up the rider rx 2.0 with cri90 also new terminator M2 and getting the L35 2.0 tactical I'm excited about. So many great lights coming out. 2024 is going to be huge. I've seen and heard about some great lights coming out soon.
The 5100 mah cell is 10A, other is 15A as stated on the cell. I do not own an M1 but I do have a W35 and LEP's seem to perform better the lower the impedence of the cell, I run Molicel P45B's in my Maxtoch W Pro's V1 & V2, my LA60s, W35, and W3 Pro TAC. The difference is noticeable enough to warrant the purchase of the P45B imo. The LEP doesn't care about the 50A the P45B can produce, it's for the ultra low impedence rating of the cell. I've been running them for quite awhile and have noticed no performance drop, both W Pro's still measure 4,000,000 cd+ You likely have a P42A or even a 40T sitting around, either should be way better than the stock cell, maybe do a little testing with the ones you have and see if you can measure a difference?
You tested them the way I would as an enthusiast, and either are fine for seeing furthest down the dog walking path. But that is not the purpose or testing means for a LEP. You need a scope and serious use case beyond 1000m to know how they compare.
Yes I know, but I am not one of those proper technical reviewers with all the gadgets and gizmos to test these lights in their entirety. I am more for the average person who is going to use these lights as an average person would. My channel is based around the average flashlight enthusiast use, not a military or search and rescue operator who needs to know if they break out their binoculars which one they will get best use out of. Obviously the W35 wins in distance (as i said several times) but for everyday use, the M1 held its own and was very impressive. Thanks heaps for your comment and for watching mate
If you're gonna compare, compare in all distances. They are throwers w/ flood, you only throw down the street. YOu also need to throw them at distances over 1km. Can't just shine couple times down the street and conclude one is better than the other. That's too biased.
so you are saying to shoot this video through binoculars or a spotting scope? lol. go run that test yourself instead of making demands of others. this is a very practical "spitball" comparison video here, with a surprising but logical result. once you get to freakish candela numbers, there are steep diminishing returns... too bad you bought the wrong light homie... hahaha. i am kidding. the w35 is a huge step forward. i love mine, and i love my m1 as well. that said, the m1 feels like two flashlights in one hand.... the w35 feels like i stole it from the starship enterprise. merry christmas!
I have both lights and am only keeping the M1...when you look at how the w35 works (Liquid Crystal Diffractive lens) is that checker pattern you see through the lens, and is effectively blocking the unfocused light output at each press of the button. While the flash light is amazing, it needs the extra 1 million candela to compete with the lower output of the M1's very focused and crystal clear output. If acebeam figured out how to focus the w35's light, like that of the M1, it wouldn't be a contest. I also would like to see acebeam make a more powerful (still 21700) version of the M1 LEP only, with similar (or better) M1 optical clarity (in the 6"-7" long range). A focusable version of that is missing in the market, as I've tested LEP lights from fenix and others, and no one is doing anything better than acebeams M1.
Mann i need you i have the astrolux wp3 with 3km lep but i want a good floodlight and and spotlight in 1 i dont know wich one i want the m1 or m2 , i think m1 is soo beuty and good ligt but is the flood better on m2 , but i also like the zoom on m1
I’ve had one of their first LEPs, the thing that drives me crazy on these is the optics, as even half of the hotspot ends up being rather bluish/overly yellow minimizing usefulness further in my experience. Has any manufacturer successfully gotten good beam quality on an LEP with a reflector or TIR lens?
You are confusing candela with lumen. Candela tells you, how far the light of a flashlight can reach, AFTER leaving the flashlight. So, you can have two different flashlights of 1000 lumen each, but with totally difference in candela, depending on several physical factors. The W35 has +1.700.000 cd, almost three times more than the M1, resulting in an enormous difference in reach. I tested my W35 against my Weltool W4 and my (beloved) M1. While the M1 is the most useful flashlight in everyday situations, it has absolutely no chance at all when competing for distance/reach against the W35 and the W4! It´s nowhere near the long reaching throw of the W35. With the W35, I reached a concrete radiotower 1570 meters (almost a full mile) away, very good visible with the naked eye. With my M1, I reached a concrete industrial building 890 meters away, barely visible without my binocular. So, there is a huge difference between those two in terms of reach/useful distance. It´s even more noticeable, when doing a test in mother nature(fields and forests around), where there is less contrast than in urban areas. (distances measured with Google Earth) Greetings from Germany👍
Really well done. That was indeed an unexpected outcome. Just goes to show bigger isn't always better. M1 Terminator, tiny but mighty!! Think about it, it's more compact, you can easily put it in your pocket, it's about a $100 cheaper and it performs as well if not better. Yeah, I'll take the Terminator.
No momentary thumb switch. Idiotic ergonomics. Deal breaker.. W35 can fit a basic loop holster. M1 doesn’t and isn’t comfortable feeling at all in the pocket anyways. Also worse middle modes. M1 Lep performs like any basic lep. Not better, and also not better than the w35. Has moonlight and better flood. that’s about it.
Because I don’t hold my torches like a boomer holding a tv remote?. I want a thumb grip, flood/lep combo. I don’t wanna carry two flashlights side by side pretending to be one. The w35 lense diameter is too big as well. should’ve been a similar diameter to the battery housing. Or sell an option of. I’d take the nerfed performance if it meant better pocketing than the m1.
@KILLJILL_Official you sound like a lovely person very agreeable. Just don't buy it if you don't like it no need to hate, there's plenty who love the design.
Never again ordering anything from Battery Junction! I ordered the w35 from them Nov 23 and it still has not shipped out. It was “Free Shipping” but 5-10 business days for delivery. That’s ridiculous
Witam. Pozdrawiam.
Wow, ignorance is bliss. You're testing these lights in an area that doesn't look much larger than your living room, the flood lights on both of these are hitting your target. Expand your test area where these lights can stretch their legs, and you'll see the difference a million cd makes. I get it, not everybody can live in Colorado where you can truly put these lights to the test, but come on man perspective is necessary. You can't honestly say that there's no difference you can see when you're testing them at 100 ft 🤦♂️ and then you're comparing a diffused LEP to 3 LEDs for the flood, unbelievable....Most of your commenters think you're some kind of flashlight expert😂 Both of these are exceptional lights on their own but you're comparing apples to oranges....
Ive got the W35 for only 215 euros! I love it, compared with my K75, im not blinded by the beam itself instead i see the target so much better. I carry it in a side pocket of my cargo pants, ill probably buy a large Olight sheath for it.
It appears the m1 has No protective lens cover over the lep?! I have two W10s and both do not have any protective lenses, that is a HARD NO NO with leps all it takes is 1 scratch. Never try cleaning your lep lens. I had to custom build 2 lens covers for my W10s... acebeam really dropped the ball on that.
i have about a dozen leps. and i take my lights out jumbled loose bouncing around in a huge toolbox... never had an issue with lep scratches. so i'd say, who cares?

The 15A is I believe referring to the discharge rate. 😊 high discharge batteries are used for high lumen output lights (that’s my understanding)
Both are very nice lights. Acebeam is putting out some good stuff.
