I want to make a quick note that you should never hang your sweaters - I only do this when filming these video, but they should be folded to keep from stretching out the neck and shoulders!
I am the other way around: always reaching for skirts and my pants very seldom get worn, even in winter. Then I just layer skirts over each other and wear some leggings. This came at a suitable moment for me as I am currently decluttering my clothes. Maybe 3½ years since last time I did it, and as with creating capsules I realise and need to think a lot about my style and my needs when going through my clothes.
I totally understand wanting to be cozy and comfortable. I find I've felt that way over the last year. I've been working from home for 3 years and had a more dressy micro capsule for work, but I've been dressing up less this year. I finally started sewing by hand this year too and last month I bought a sewing machine because I love it. Have you ever thought of making some of your clothes for comfort or are you too busy for it?
I really enjoyed this video. I find that I have definitely been dressing more for comfort since the pandemic started. I think I’m going to have to add a couple of pairs of comfortable yet warm pants to my wardrobe. Ontario winters get pretty cold. I love the idea of the more dressy sweat pants.
Your style is sleek and practical.this year the colours have been in subdued area....or is it being at home and being at home they slobber and it shows when you I go out.
I also noticed this back in May. I go on campus for work once a week, and the rest of my time is spent at home or occasionally running errands. there's no reason to dress up unless I want to, there's no reason to be uncomfortable unless I'm trying to adhere to a specific dress code (none of which are being implemented at this point in time). It's really nice that I can just sit at home and be comfortable and wear things I enjoy.
I've been watching your videos and capsules for a while now, but still haven't gotten around to making one myself 🙈 love the consept, and love the way you thought about this capsule! 🤩
I absolutely adore your green self-knit cardigan! Really beautiful. And the combination of your nail polish with the lilac shirt is just effortless chic.
Amazing video as always. Wanted more information about Miakoda, this is the first time I’ve heard about them and they are ethical and have plus size!! So interested
Love your cozy capsule! I am actually back at the office so I am wearing my more dressy pieces at work now. I have to admit that it feels great to dress up! I would miss having a pair of jeans as they are part of my uniform. Thanks for another interesting and thought provoking video! 💚💚
i don’t know about the women’s version bc I have the men’s, but the tentree joggers are beautifully think and comfy with good pockets too, would definitely recommend
It wasn't a boring capsule, thank you for sharing! I think it is important and relevant to address how fashion has changed. And while there is still dressy fashion, the more relevant clothes of 2020 are lounge wear.
When you do reviews of clothing can you talk about the sizing? When I go to look for items by the brands you show, I am not sure how to choose a size and what the fit is like. For instance, I wanted to get something from Armed Angels, but I am wondering how their items fit. TY -E
Thanks for a great video! I love the look of the new dress you have coming--I hope we can see it! I didn't know Indigenous and was just looking at their dresses--I love them, thanks for that! Would love to see a little "capsule lookbook" if you're up for it at some point, too! :-) I also REALLY love a longline cardigan for fall and winter and enjoyed seeing yours. And that colorful maxi kimono/robe just gets me every time. I love it so much! The only way my wardrobe has changed is that I don't wear the really structured "stiff" stuff as much, and I haven't been wearing as many of my beloved scarves (lightweight or otherwise)--and that makes me a bit sad (maybe I should just start wearing them anyway!). For some reason those work better when I leave the house. But I do find myself wearing dresses and my favorite wide-leg pants and even some jeans. I've tried to wear things that are comfortable but still make me feel dressed and just a little bit styled and put together. It just makes me feel happy and better. But I believe everyone should do what's right for them of course!
All I want to wear in the winter is pullover sweaters. We keep our house pretty chilly so it’s sweaters for me! I agree about jeans. I wear them to the grocery store or out and about, but usually I’m in yoga pants.
I give you massive points for wearing “real” clothes on days you don’t leave the house. If I have a zoom call or something, I put on a nice top. Otherwise I’m wearing my “I’d rather not be wearing this on a car accident” loungewear.
Going from living in Vancouver to Salt Spring Island, I went from a ‘wardrobe’ to whatever’s leggings and T/sweater is clean 😆. I’m actually looking forward to moving back to a Vancouver so I can play with a wardrobe again!
I can't wait to hear more about the clothing rental company! I'm based in Calgary and have been considering trying such a service for a while but haven't been able to find the right one.
I am kind of having a capsule for 2 seasons, but definitely changed a lot over time with life situatuons, currently 38 weeks pregnant with my second, I can't wait to change to my "old" pieces but also adding some baby/breastfeeding friendly clothing :)
This looks great. The biggest change for me is in the pants - only comfy ones and not jeans-style. You mentioned a few pieces that you didn't include for a while. I am curious, about how many similar pieces do you have stored away? (E.g. other t-shirts, cardigans etc. that are appropriate for fall/winter) I imagine I would want to include everything that I love. Or do your preferences change more?
I don't have many winter clothes currently stored away, basically just jeans and a few dresses and more formal/professional pieces. It's not because I don't love them, just because they don't practically work for my life right now so it doesn't make sense to have them in my capsule wardrobe if I won't be wearing them. The items in this capsule that I haven't included in capsules in a while are my handmade items. I do like them, I just don't wear them as often as other items and maybe should pass them on, but they are also extremely hard to get rid of knowing how much work went into them 😅
@@MyGreenCloset Thank you, that makes sense. I recognize that it is hard to get rid of your own pieces haha, and I am not as good at sewing as you so some of mine are even uncomfortable or ill-fitting, but still a lot of work and love went into it xD
I would recommend you checking out WOOL CLOTHING. I mean, indeed you already own wool sweaters however you can have a look at wool t-shirts, leggings, underwear shirts or socks for example. You'll be surprised at how thin the fabric can be! You'll be able to wear the exact SAME piece for days without smelling. Because wool has incredible properties: it doesn't only keep warm in the winter but also cool in the summer and the less you wash it, the better it is. I have experienced wool nappy covers for my baby - to be combined with cloth nappies of course - because wool is also naturally waterproof thanks to lanolin (but I wouldn't be surprised if you are already aware of it, and sorry if that's the case!.. since you're also using clothes diapers). I can use the same cover for over a month without smelling wee, just hang it to aerate a bit and then it is good to use again. So same goes with sweat! No creasing, dries super fast. And super comfy (can work with regular wool, merino wool or even wool and silk) The only downside I would say is that you want to hand-wash it (or put it in the washer using a wool program) to preserve the fibers, but as I said, you really don't have to wash it often at all.. You'll find plenty of videos about it here on TH-cam, nomads especially like to use it when they travel so they can pack extra-light :) I am personally planning to test out the brand Green Rose Clothes available on their own website or on Etsy, certified, made and own by a small family business in Lithuania, and really affordable. They have a nice selection of basics for both babies- kids and adults. And by the way, your capsule wardrobe has always been, and will always be my favorite!! I absolutely love it.
I have a video series about fibres and fabrics which talks about all the great properties of wool! :) The issue is that I'm careful of where wool comes from and want to ensure animal welfare (because there can be some pretty cruel practices), so the vast majority of my wool pieces are secondhand. There are very few brands with good info about their wool sourcing/standards that I trust to buy new wool from.
I’m surprised you don’t have more long sleeve tees. I’m in Alaska so I know cold, even inside, most houses are around 60F and short sleeves are too cold. Personally I don’t like my sweaters on bare skin and with two small kids at home, I frequently have to change my shirt mid-day. Do you have to wash your shirts all the time? What is your secret?
In the winter I basically only wear the tees with the cardigans. Also any undergarments like tanks/camis, tights, or tops which are only worn under other clothes, like sweaters, aren't included in the capsule since they are never seen . I do laundry about once a week and easily have enough clothes for a week, maybe things will change when my little one is older, but I haven't been washing any more frequently.
Im in the same stage: comfy, cozy and mostly on the floor with my kids. I also look for comfort and practicality these days. Your hair got so long by the way🤗 you look nice
Having done capsule wardrobes for 3 years I find they are the best in colder countries(Canada) or countries with distinct seasons since pieces need to be rotated by weather anyway. I was hard to do capsules when I was travelling in South America (precovid) as I needed most of the same pieces all year round.
Hello! Very nice vidéo ! thank you 🙂 I would like to know about your coats and other winter clothes ??? Enjoy the snow (I saw it snowed in your province ) Can't wait!
Hey Erin....I really love your comfy collection...It's so cozy...I also bought some great clothes for staying home during winters....I hope you're having a great time...Lots of love from me to you...Sending positive vibes your way....
I often put my leggings under my thinner pants to make them warm, that might work for the Matter Prints pants if they won’t cling or static to them! I also have a pair of matter prints pants and that works for them. However, if I’m staying at home I can’t be bothered to layer pants haha!
At the end of each season I always donate clothes I did not wear or liked. But I found with covid that I couldn't do it since I just wore work clothes (im an in home caregiver so all I wore was comfy clothes that enabled me to care for someone else). I have a small wardrobe anyway so I just put my few summery things away instead of going through them.
If you find a good pair of thicker dressy sweatpants please share! I've been on a quest for a better pair of pants for the winter that is also cozy/movement-friendly.
Do you have a good recommendation for where to buy a sweater like your Icelandic one? I've been looking for that Nordic/Scandy style in the thrift shops but either coming up empty or they're some kind of mixed acrylic material. I would like to get one sustainability if I can
I really needed this! I’ve been living in my pjs and I need to just do a comfy capsule! Also can’t wait to check our your little ones capsule! I have a little 17 month old and I feel like she’s at the age now where I can do a capsule for her too 🥰
I want to make a quick note that you should never hang your sweaters - I only do this when filming these video, but they should be folded to keep from stretching out the neck and shoulders!
I'm totally jealous of your knitting skills. the two you made were my favorites.
Aw thanks!
Yup, knitting is a superpower :)
Hi Erin, I love your winter wardrobe, your hair looks great!😊
Your knits are beautiful, didn't know you were a talented knitter.
Thank you 💚
This video made me realize I want more comfy sweaters!
I am the other way around: always reaching for skirts and my pants very seldom get worn, even in winter. Then I just layer skirts over each other and wear some leggings.

I love your realistic Capsule Wardrobe! Thank you for sharing!
This was really calm and nice video, thank you 🤗
I love your capsule wardrobe! I'm a sucker for comfortable, cozy sweaters.
Also have to say: your hair looks amazing, it suits you really well. 🤗🤗
Thank you! 💚
Love your hand knits 🧶❤️
Love the green and white sweater.

Thanks Nicole!
Love your video and capsule wardrobe of this season.

Amazing video as always.

I love them!
I live in TX and it’s still pretty warm here so I’m pretty much just in a tank top and jeans/ shorts. Really looking forward to the cooler weather

Truly a cozy capsule, very nice and all the items look so comfortable. Good health to you :-)
Love this!!!! Do you only put these items in your closet?? I’ve been trialing how to best store my clothes so I use them well!!!

Hm unfortunately I don't. Maybe try Etsy?
Check the men’s section at thrift shops if you aren’t already! They can be worn as unisex. You just might need to size down
@@laceyb1197 that's a really good suggestion, thank you!
Try etsy and also poshmark!
Nice video ☺️ in which country do you live? Canada?
Yes :)
the patterned wool gifted sweater looks awesome! it made me click on your video
I really needed this! I’ve been living in my pjs and I need to just do a comfy capsule! Also can’t wait to check our your little ones capsule! I have a little 17 month old and I feel like she’s at the age now where I can do a capsule for her too 🥰
I love having a capsule for my daughter!
You could wear a pair of leggings under the thin patterned pants in colder weather.
I do sometimes, it's just not as comfortable so I can't see myself doing it often this winter.
Leggings with pockets?! I need these!
They're so helpful! I wish they were more common.
Leggings, tshirts and jeans when I go out.
Pair of joggers would work in your wardrobe
I am mum + corona = at home. 😅
boring is good.
Loved this!!!!
Love it...feels so right for now 🧡
