I’m a lecturer in children’s nursing & I’ve used ChatGPT to assist in developing a scenario for a safeguarding session with students. We did a simulated multidisciplinary meeting, focusing on a child’s risk factors. I gave ChatGPT the basic information (eg 7 year old boy with suspicious bruising came in to A&E with parent)
It was helpful to consider perspectives from different roles (A&E nurse, social worker, teacher, health visitor, GP for example) then ask chat GPT to consider what this ‘role’ might need to focus on. It was helpful, as it allowed me to keep interrogating the information to seek greater clarity.
It will be interesting to see how the use of ChatGPT plays out in the next few years.

Thank you for sharing - really interesting the perspectives you asked ChatGPT to answer from.

We are also grappling with this issue in Uganda, particularly concerning tests and assessments. Several lecturers are shifting from essay-type assignments to more classroom-based quizzes, exams, and assessments. The concern is that otherwise, our students may rapidly lose their critical thinking abilities.
We are, however, instructing them on how to use it, as they will require this skill in the future, and we hope that they will develop their own AI software/apps/systems/products.

Thank you for sharing - it is very interesting how universities are sharing and adapting to the rapidly changing tech. Thank you for the comment 😀
