Fair market value means taking advantage of tax breaks and desperate populations.
AWESOME!!this is such a wonderful action and such a great news story!! we need more stories like this to help inspire people that they can be the change. Thank you to all the people who made this happen and hopefully it will be an inspiration for it to happen to all those empty buildings out there!
$1,400 a month,how is that Affordable ???
Do you folks not listen? It's subsidized.
Therefore affordable only if poor and getting someone else to pay the bulk of the cost, otherwise many will remain homeless unless someone else pays the bill.
YAY! Good work and thank you for your commitment to helping others with housing. Bless you!!
1,400 a month is beyond ridiculous!
This is ripping people off.
At the most $300.00 a month.
I live in California and a studio apartment is not even 1,400 a month unless you’re in one of the 4 big cities.
And I bet the taxpayers are paying a lot of the rent.
This world is crazy.
Awesome job! This is what we need! Thank you to this developer! Giving back to the community! Hope this catches on with other developers!❤😊
This is excellent idea, but $1,400 is still out of most people's reach.
HUD pays the majority of it. The people pay what they can afford.
I pray more people do this across the US. There should be absolutely no reason for this much homelessness... if I had the means, I would do this. Thank you for your help and support for people in your city!
This is a great development, but 1400 is not affordable for many people. How about 900? Then people would be able to afford food, too.
Wow amazing work hats off to this guy , he has made hotel this into someone's home , just fantastic.
This is why states needs to outlaw private equity developments. We need to put our citizens first, residents, hometown development and businesses needs to be top priority.
This man ,the developer ,he gives me hope for the better future ...God bless you , real man.
acting like he is doing this for a good cause then changing $1,400 a month is crazy
He's not. That's the total value and HUD pays most of it. The tenants pay what they can afford.
NOTABLE MIRACLES and Breakthrough's Thank You Sir
God bless you Adam. This is the best example of how to help others. You will be remembered.
I rented a whole house for £1000 and they're wanting more for an room and bathroom...
EXCELLENT WORK!!!! PERFECT SOLUTION!!!!!
1400 IS EXPENSIVE
What a great idea -- I hope more cities come up with similar solutions for people who need and deserve a home of their own.
$1,400.00 a Month!! 130 people 😮 That's $182,000 a MONTH!! No wonder he's smiling ear to ear.
INCLUDES UTILITIES AND IS FURNISHED and a nurse / staff is on premises, so he’s not receiving the utility money, - the utility companies are, so he’s not getting the above conjectured 182K - 🙄
For those complaining about the cost of rent in the comment section, "The rent is dictated by HUD, what's called the fair market rent. For Davidson County, that’s $1,400, and it includes fully furnished units and all utilities, along with peer support and security,” he said. Residents who qualify will be able use vouchers to help cover the cost of rent." In other words, there will be NO COST to those who qualify.
Great idea! God bless you sir thanks!
Recuerda no es gratis, debes pagar 1400 $ al mes.
Adam ....Thank you for contacting them and making it happen.
$1400 a month is affordable housing?
FOR A STUDIO IN TENNESSEE?
I SMELL SHIT.
I smell my federal tax dollars being given away.
@@cakesaregood5176 Taxes go for community services... not the same as "giving away." Plus, with people in housing they can add to the economy in other ways: jobs, spending, etc.
Where I live, studios run between $1600 and $1900 per month, no amenities, with parking and pets extra.
Nashville is very much in demand. The taxpayers pay most of this.
@@RandomGuy-k7m You smelled right. The developers aren't doing any charity. They know what they're doing. They want those HUD money!
Thank for all your hard work to help others! God bless you!
$1,400.00/month is NOT affordable. I’m an RN, making a decent salary for a Southern state. $1,400.00/month is definately OVER 1 week of salary BEFORE taxes.
We have one of those in my town ( Tallahassee Florida ) and we need more. There are a few closed motels in the North part of our town where homeless gather. God bless him.
Way better than those pod home communities they're building.
@@DavidLS1 Actually it's NOT. Tiny home communities are less expensive to build & maintain, self-contained, give a more campus/neighborhood feel, and can be modified or removed at will.
@@sdlock83 Yes, I know. The pods I was referring to are little more than tents. Tiny houses are better. Better still might be to repurpose abandoned roadside motels into living units for the homeless.
@@DavidLS1 Even the pods are better than this. Remember these kinds of housing provides shelter and privacy, but are not meant to me permanent. The worst thing one can do is to make them DEPENDENT on welfare for the rest of their lives. There should be a DESIRE for them to work their way OUT.
@@sdlock83 Not everyone can work themselves out of poverty. Refurbished motels would be ideal for the homeless elderly. At least we agree that all of these approaches are better than tents and cardboard boxes. A number of countries have almost no homeless people. Denmark, Ireland. Finland. Japan and Norway just to name a few. Perhaps we should try to copy what they're doing.
Thank You! For helping all these people.
With ALL the subsidies....sp this guy can rake in $182,000.00 per month...
Then go do it yourself ... for free.
🙄the envy!!, - literally dripping off your comment! … like jealously planning the sale of your soul to whomever jus giv ya enuff… - but then with your apparent internal make-up it’ll probably NEVER be enough…
Finally some good news, so happy for Karen, very nice place & God bless that man , we need more people like him.🙏
1400 a month that’s still crazy expensive
HUD pays the majority of it. The people pay what they can afford.
Finally we are seeing the GOOD developers in the world. God bless this man 🙏🏽
Excellent news!
This is what SHOULD happen EVERYWHERE!!
You need wealthy investors to make it happen. I know if I was wealthy I would certainly invest in this kind of project.
1400 can get you a nice 2bed 2bath high rise apartment in Houston. this is crazy....
This definitely helps with the housing crisis for unhoused populations. The fact that people can have all amenities, a safe and secure home that is furnished, and only pay 30% of income is amazing! More large cities need to try this model so there are displaced families who are housed. Hopefully there is a social worker on site for case management and job resources. It’s a win-win! HUD funding is being put to good use to help Americans and it’s a solution to part of the housing and homelessness crisis.
Thank you. But $1400 is outrageous for that unit. HUD now in the south needs looking into these deals they make with rich landlords that are requiring 60% of ones income not 30%. CORTLAND IS NOT THE ONLY PRICE FIXER LANDLORD GOUGING AND ABUSING TENANTS. .
This is a great idea! May be helpful to get support from local pastors/churches to be available for counseling and substance abuse support.
Really proud of this initiative but to keep it safe and strong additional volunteers will be needed. ❤
LOL 1400 a month without a full separate kitchen... LOL these landlords are predators.
He is a smart businessman, and probably paid the lady to say nice things about the home. He tried to sound like he is such a nice guy for doing this.
$1400. is not a good deed sir, try again.
This is how homeness is overcome! By people care about others ! Thank You to thos gentleman! Money well invested !
Wow! Can they afford $1400/month? A young man I know personally aged out of the foster care system. He slept on the train that runs in and out of of the San Jose area. His biological parents and family were druggies/criminals. He wanted to avoid being involved with them. However, I don’t know that he could afford $1400.
What a wonderful man with a beautiful heart!
1400 dollars a month for that is “affordable housing” ?
RIDICULOUS.
What an amazing man. Such vision. Helping homeless people.
