Not sure what you do or don't already know, but just in case you weren't sure, it was in fact confirmed by the real-world writer of the song, No Promises to Keep, that it is Aerth's song to Cloud. Very touching scene, imo.
So I'm sure you've been told by now but "No promises to keep" is a love song from Aerith to Cloud. It works a lot better when you're on Aerith's route. Love it.

All the dates are really beautiful and there is a difference in how everyone reacts to the song when you with someone else on a date, but for me Aerith singing this song makes so much sense when it's her date. ❤
The song clearly touched Vincent's heart, I can tell you that much. You'll learn more about him as his story unfolds, but fair warning, be prepared to cry a lot.

I love ff7 and the whole compilation and not all of us but the most veterans love Aerith! thanks❤️

Despite my best efforts, somehow someway I ended up getting Yuffie as my date here.......and it was actually surprisingly endearing and showed an unexpected Side of Cloud with how he handled Yuffie on the date. 😂
Good video. I hope you watch the other loveless dates when you have the time! Also, Aerith Song about Cloud is very cute and sweet. I'm a Cloti, but I think they have some very sweet momments in this game. i hope you will enjoy the rest of them! ❤

Nope, after years of being denied it in the original game due to the very rare potential of it I purposefully aimed to have my date be with Barrett and it’s was worth it. Also Tifa/Cloud is my Roman Empire
