The way Tifa doesn’t say a word after the boss gauntlet is heartbreaking. It looks like it is taking everything in her to move, she even has to be prompted twice to leave the temple. It feels like she’s retreated into herself. The part that kills me is when Red feels Aerith there, you see Tifa lift her head to look before just letting it fall back to her knees and I just… my poor baby. Regardless on if you shipped them or not, Tifa loved Aerith. And now she’s gone. Just another person taken by that maniac, another person she couldn’t save. Another tragedy Tifa gets to survive.
You hit it. We only saw the fight mostly from cloud’s perspective (what he saw is up for debate). Our heroine has lost so much and she isn’t being comforted. The one guy who could has effectively lost it even if he is correct. We forget that the war between aerith and sephiroth centers around on cloud, and he is the main chrcater, but the actions of sephiroth have hurt others, just as deeply. What makes it even more heartbreaking, is that sephiroth while he does understand tifa’s importance, he dosnt see her as important enough to constantly harass (possibly because he knows he is far beyond her league). The consequences of his actions however are enough to put her into depression and ptsd. He prob gets his thrill just knowing that tifa’s life being ruined just as a side effect. Part 3 better have a moment where it’s just her and him…
Lifestream Aerith only giving Cloud peace of mind about her fate rubs me the wrong way. Game 3 needs to start with Cloud explaining the multiverse to everyone to the best of his ability. They have been seeing Sephiroth materialize himself from the Lifestream and how he witnessed Aerith do the same. They need some hope.
Knew watching your play through that this would inevitably come. Still one of the saddest moments in video game history, the death of Aerith. In OG when you fight Jenova after and its Aerith's theme playing during the fight just hit and I feel like they captured that perfectly in Rebirth. Bring on part 3.
I'm so happy I'm able to watch you again, even if it's just the last episode. I was avoiding spoilers as I was playing myself( event platinumed) but I missed your sweetness and wholesome vibes. This game is an absolute masterpiece

I'm not a shipper, but Aerith was definately more than a friend. Aerith is "the one that got away". Its a common romantic/lovers troupe in cinema, lierature, etc..

After finishing the game i always wish aerith returned in part 3 and took her revenge by swinging her iconic chair right to his face saying "you stabbed the wrong girl fool!" 🥲 but again, thanks jade for your gaming experience in FF7 Rebirth! I hope you keep well to continue the journey in part 3!
We still have Cloud and Aerith lying in coma in a different timeline. As well as a possibility that Cloud saved Aerith in another timeline because Sephiroth was merging worlds together and he needed Cloud to expirience pain so he could control him, but Aerith was able to calm him whether from lifestream or another timeline, so Cloud was able to keep a cool head while fighting. So it's still a mystery whether Cloud is just coping with her death or actually see her in another timeline, or he is just connected to the lifestream and is able to communicate with Aerith.
I’ve been avoiding direct eye contact with anyone whenever I’m out and about. My eyes are pretty swollen since I have been crying multiple times everyday from watching yours and other play through. Thanks for sharing the journey! I truly hope, either by Cloud blocking the first strike creating a timeline where she lived or otherwise, that we get to save Aerith.
@@timonalexandr151Our Cloud blocked it but he created another world instead of changing the future and once that world was created his world returned to how thing are supposed to go. Sephiroth explained it himself the future can’t be changed but you can create alternate realities when things change, that’s why Zack is alive in one timeline but dead on the main one same thing with Aerith.
@@Zero-fx8pc How do you know this? I thought that after the Arbiter of Fate was defeated in Remake and they went through the portal, they could then make different choices that leads to a different future.
@@timonalexandr151 Sephiroth explained it when Aerith pushed Cloud into the portal and we saw how Zack was creating different worlds (one where he went for Biggs, Cloud and one where he couldn’t decide) idk why the whispers are still there but the black ones are controlled by Sephiroth and the white ones appear to be controlled by Aerith.
There is still hope to get her back. Depending on where they go with this timeline stuff and wether this is a prequel or a sequel to AC. At this point we can't really tell.
I don't know if you remember, but in FF7 Remake Cloud had several visions of Aerith's death. Do you remember the part in the Remake where Cloud shed a tear as he watched Aerith walk away from him? If you want, you can check the lyrics of Hollow, the main theme of FF7 Remake. You'll be able to really understand them now. Of course, the lyrics of No Promises To Keep will also hit you differently now.
Finally the full version of Aerith's song played in the credits ^^ Take a look at these lyrics, they're very interesting. Plus the fact that the singer and coposer confirmed that it's about Cloud. From my understanding Aerith knows that someday she will reunite with Cloud again and it will most likely be on the Loveless street again. Of course all this timeline/multiverse stuff is completely new to the Remakes and it makes me want to belive that Cloud and Aerith could be together again.
Hey, I've really enjoyed your playthoughs. But I have noticed the harassment you've gotten from way back when you played the first game, to now, for not picking Tifa. And I just wanted to apologize for it. A lot of FF7 fans are very toxic unfortunately. And you're so sweet and chill. And from my knowledge, have never said anything bad about Tifa. You just seem to prefer Aerith. You are definitely not the first or last person I've seen being harassed for the same reason. And what's worse, is picking Aerith is kind of the intended route for the story. If you get Tifa, whole the last section of the game doesn't make sense. So you being harassed for that is just... I'm very sorry. I hope it has not discouraged you too much.
Aww thank you so much! I freaking love Tifa just as much as Aerith!! I guess romantically however I more resonate with Aerith but I think Tifa is such a wonderful character!!
While I agree wholeheartedly about the losers who harass others about video game relationship preferences I don't think picking Aerith is the "intended" route, it's just serves a different purpose where the Tifa one is only about romance and Aerith sorta spends the whole game making good memories to remember her by and preparing both Cloud and the player for her death like her speech on the Costa beach directly implies. The endgame "dream" sequence also does that imo, tho if you chose her at the Saucer you can interpret it as romance I suppose. Everyone can choose whoever they want without it impacting anything storywise is what I am saying.
Great playthrough, I finished it 2 weeks ago and it was fun seeing you react to moments I had already experienced. I played the original back in the day, it's one of my favorite games, and Rebirth managed to be just as special as that. I can't wait for Part 3, knowing what's to come... There's so much good stuff ahead of us in the final entry of the remake trilogy... ✌️ I'm not sure you played Crisis core FF7 before this, but I recommend not playing it until you either play the original FF7 or the upcoming Part 3. It assumes you have full knowledge of the FF7 story and might spoil you some of the biggest moments in FF7, moments that will surely be depicted in the next game.
This is gonna take me awhile to get through but just wanna say thanks for sharing, what a journey i have no words i experienced way too many different emotions during this game
Glad you enjoyed it. Rebirth is such an incredible game. Easily my personal game of the year! About the ending, I think Aerith is acting from the lifestream, which gives her the ability to get inside Clouds mind like Sephiroth does. Nanaki felt Aerith because in Remake part 1, she touches him and gives him her "gift" as well. At least, that is how I see it. A particular line from the ending song, "Take my hand and believe that we can be together evermore", as well as other lines, I feel supports this idea. There are some theories floating around that the Aerith we see in the ending scenes is just Jenova messing with Cloud, and while that is possible, I'm not really convinced of it. In any case, Rebirth is AMAZING and I absolutely cannot wait for part three!
This Cloud in the present timeline came from the pomeranian world, but he is still the cloud from the beagle timeline.. Cloud is not sad because he knows that Aerith is still alive in another timeline..
It makes sense why the ending was all sunshines and flowers, cuz Aerith wouldn't want Cloud or anyone to be sad. its not in her nature. Its a crazy juxtaposition. But we all know Cloud is in denial. When the next game breaks Aerith's death down, ooof... It won't be pretty.
For anyone who thinks Cloud isn't all there, do keep in mind that, when Cloud deflected Sephiroth's sword, a rainbow effect occurred. That same rainbow effect could be seen every time Zack made a decision. As the scene unfolded, you could see blood going in and out on Aerith. That seemed to indicate that the scene was flashing between Aerith being dead and Aerith just being tired. Also, Stamp was different in each of Zack's timelines, adding to the evidence of multiple timelines. So, there's every reason to believe Aerith died in the main timeline. But, Cloud managed to create a parallel timeline for her to exist in. A sort of limbo state.
I think the rainbow effect means "The Planet" moreover Aerith...the cloud section of the sephiroth fight is happening within the lifestream I think...and aerith is all the way dead... but being a cetra.. can navigate around the lifestream...the same sephiroth is doing because of where he actually is...and well if you know you know on that lol
Oh yeah, and the reason I'm guessing at this point for why cloud can see her and the sky and whatnot is because of.... well more spoiler, if you know you know stuff lol
I’m very much of the mind that Cloud *did* manage to save her; the world seeming to snap to one where she died, I took that as a consequence of Sephiroth’s “reunion” of worlds. Things may be a little fuzzy and more than a little strange now, but I do believe that in the end, he was able to do *something* even if he still has to say goodbye either way.
Congratulations Jade... What a Journey! 💯🏅 I can tell that you enjoyed every minute of this game... Now, we can't wait for part 3 in a few years. You should definitely play the Gilgamesh chapter. And finish the story for Queen's Blood. 🃏 A big hug to you! 🤍

And that's why Cloud and Aerith are called the Star-cross lovers; because they can never be together, that is why in Remake Aerith tells Cloud not to fall in love with her because she knows it will only cause him pain and suffering. Cloud doesn't know that is in love with her and he just realizes when she dies; He didn't know how much he loved her until she died. The love story between Cloud and Aerith is so tragic, a love that could never be. But maybe this time there is hope, the song No Promises To Keep talks about a reunion between Cloud and Aerith, maybe the two will meet again on that street called Loveness where they met for the first time, maybe in another life or world and they can be happy together.
You apparently never played crisis core! Zack is Aerith’s true love and she even says he gave her no reason not to love him in this game. So here are 2 facts for you: 1. The gold saucer date with Aerith felt like good friends and he loved her like a sister. The gold saucer date with Tifa they actually kissed and embraced because they are childhood sweethearts. This was already mentioned in the game how they liked each other but were shy to make eye contact. 2. The devs says so. They said in deciding Cloud’s love interest they picked Tifa so there, this came from the mouths of the creators.
@@duyle557 The original is Canon. CC came out 10 damn years after 10 years. They wanted to take away the church scene from Cloud. (luckily they have respected it here) they changed Zack's Death scene, in my opinion much more unattractive for the tone that ff7 has. and they turned Zack into a shonen protagonist. Zack was her first love when she was 16 years old. In the Remake Aerith in the park says you have to look forward not back. 5 years passed. She has feelings for Zack just like Cloud does for Tifa. but They 2 love each other. If you don't want to see it, you haven't understood anything. Why does she tell him not to fall in love with her in the remake? She sees the future and doesn't want Cloud to suffer. Do you know the novel the Maiden ho travels the planet? It is official from Square Enix and is included in the compilation. This game is inspired by all that material, games, movies, etc. She tells Zack that she loves Cloud more. It is normal, it is 5 years, you have the right to be happy, especially because of your destiny. Forgot the shipping. Hey Jade FF16 second DLC is coming out April 18. I hope u get to play both DLC starting with Echoes of Fallen and I would highly suggest u equip Clive Odin and get take out Phoenix because Odin attack is powerful than Phoenix.
I finally beat the game a few days ago and am making the reaction/streaming rounds. I am amazed how many people don't play the ending with the Buster Sword, considering how the final battle plays out and the amazing symmetry it leads to with Zack's appearance.
It's true that Rebith's ending is confusing, emotionally draining and opens several windows to the future... But there's one thing that worries me... imagining part 3 of this trilogy without Aerith leaves me completely frustrated. Aerith is the life of this game, the hope, and her relationship with Cloud is unique... It makes me sad to think that whispers, destiny, timelines... all of this has only served to make fans create theories for years and keep the game being talked about... if that's the only reason for creating all this hope, I'm going to be tremendously disappointed at the end of the third game. I know that Aerth's death is very much a part of FF7's story... that tragic love that will never happen. But I wish that before her farewell, we'd at least have her big moment with Cloud (guys who like Tifa better, don't get upset with me) ... Cloud and Aerith deserve to have a big moment before their farewell. Square ... is my biggest request Congratulations on reaching the end of the game Jade
Great job Jade! it took me a couple of tries to beat Sephiroth during the last phase as well. It's basically a huge DPS race at the very end and he will destroy you if you don't kill him before his stagger runs out. It also doesn't help that the four options given to you at game over are so poorly worded, I'm sure you felt all the frustration there 😛🙂

So sadly that's saying no crisis core reunion. damn that's a shame. The creator and producer of remake and rebirth and reunion went on record to say that it was INTENDED for you to play reunion so that you would understand what was so integral about Zack when rebirth came out. It's such a disservice by not doing this, not only to yourself and the story but also to the developers. Idk why everyone seems to think that the game developers are stupid enough to incentivize people to spoil the end game, by playing a game that they remastered literally on purpose. The writing should be solid enough at this point for people to understand that if remake and the original and rebirth are this great, surely they know what they're doing. By incentivizing someone to spoil the ending by playing a game that they purposely remastered, IT WOULD DECIMATE their sales for the last game. Especially since most people that live ff7 have played crisis core on the PSP in the past. There's not as much incentive to re-buy a game to play that you've already played in the past as their is to buy the ending of a three-part remake. It would make no sense business wise. I really understand people wanting to just make sure but this is getting so frustrating to see people just do this to themselves. However it is your channel and your decision so no one should be able to convince you or force you. I understand and respect that it's just monumentally frustrating. But if that's how you think you'll enjoy the series better than that's the best way to do it. It'd be at the service for anyone not to get the most out of this game series
I don't think that everything in crisis core would be explained in part 3 unfortunately. The game developers are going to be focusing on developing and creating the end game not repeating information that's available in two previous games and 2 previous movies. They won't have the time or space to focus on things that have already been elaborated on when they're having to focus on making the story and game that's ending and wrapping up the entire remake series. Does it make sense from a Time perspective or a monetary perspective or a business perspective. All of the answers entirely in remake 3, but I think what we're going to see is a lot of people go back and play crisis core after 3 comes out years from now and be like "wow I probably should have just played it then. I would be able to understand why the ending of the remake is so impactful Even more." The developers really aren't as dumb as a lot of people think

My favorite scene is the church scene with Cloud and Aerith, it is the most romantic scene in the history of video games. A detail when Aerith comforts Cloud and tells him that it's okay, she puts her hand on his face, it's the same gesture as in the remake when she tells him that she didn't fall in love with him. She knew her destiny and wanted to protect A cloud from suffering. At that moment, since I know the story, I started to get emotional and when we fought with Jenova and Aerith's song started playing, I broke down xD I had to pause the game 💔💔!❤️

The Whispers, the different timelines, Loveless, the whole compilation are meaningless if we don't have a Cloud and Aerith reunion. Obviously, Cloud is the vessel that can be filled with emptiness, sadness, hatred, regret (Sephiroth-Jenova) or love, self-acceptance, joy (Aerith).
Hey Jade I just got done beating Sephiroth too a hour ago Congratulations on defeating him.The ending broke me too. I haven’t felt like this when I played Final Fantasy 16.
Thank you for the play through but not for making me cry again. If you do want to continue post game, I recommend chapter 12 as that is the last chapter before losing Cait Sith. You will only be missing 1 side quest at the gold saucer and to be honest it’s a shitty quest so you can do without. However, you missed the meridian ocean exploration and the protorelic quest which is the best quest in the game so do that too! Looking forward to your next game.

It's not really a dream for me, bringing a dead character back to life through a multiverse just to satisfy the Crisis core fanbase, it's more of a nightmare
You’ve been lucky. A newcomer, watching without any spoilers one of the most controversial endings to a video game. The third installment now has to hit the landing. This game was made from a crew that has said they love the original and tried to tell the story with some…DECISIONS…this project isnt just simply retelling the story..it’s perhaps going beyond that. We are privledge for better for worse to be a part of that. What do you make of the ending? So many questions, so much moments to think on. 1. Every party except cloud when battling jenova gets limit. Breaker…why? 2.why is every party member jovial and or disappears when cloud is in the vicinity (I recall how when cloud and the others bring jenova to the ground, your party members are gone). 3. Did tifa see aerith being covered with blood and then not covered with blood…?? 4. How did cloud get the black material..? Did ..did he get in the Forrest? 5. The way cloud SMILES, and acts happy…I mean my god…it’s creepy and yet alarming and also tragic.
Now I have to wait as long as everyone else did from remake to rebirth 😢😢😂 I was lucky to have a shorter wait from remake to rebirth than everyone else
I believe in reunion we will see Aerith again. Maybe not alive but in the lifestream. Cloud has lost his mind, and i fear things will only get worse for him. Tifa couldn't even speak to him at the end. All that Tifa and Aerith have done is to protect his mind and now everything is like this. What an amazing game with an amazing cast of well developed characters. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Cloud isn’t crazy. That’s been recontextualized into him seeing into the multiverse which is beginning to merge with itself. Chances are when he’s wheelchair bound in Part 3 he will be running around helping Zack or Aerith in a different timeline. Similarly to how he was wheelchair bound in Zack’s timeline when he’s running around in the main timeline.
So this time around they made things more confusing for people particularly new players but essentially you (via Cloud) saw multiple timelines play out at once, this is evidenced at multiple points in the end. For example after Cloud and Aerith fell you see what can basically be called timeline 3 with Cloud and Aerith walking around the slums, you know it’s a different timeline as the Shinra mascot Stamp is a completely different breed of dog from the current timeline as well as the Stamp you see at the end of the first game when you see Zack alive (we’llcall that timeline 2). You also see Zack play through multiple potential outcomes within timeline 2 (going to Shinra to get Hojo for Cloud or going to save Biggs or waiting at the church etc). This culminates in the final fight where you see the iconic Sephiroth stabbing Aerith however Cloud keeps seeing 2 different outcomes 1 where he saved Aerith from the blade and (the traditional) time where she is stabbed and killed (the blood you see). You also fight Sephiroth across the 3 timelines, timeline 1 is the group fighting him, timeline 2 is Zack and Cloud and timeline 3 is Cloud and Aerith. All of this ends the game with Cloud arguably even more mentally broken then he was at the same point in the original game as evidenced by the fact he still sees Aerith and the crack in the sky what’s worse is while Aerith is clearly a good person in any timeline much like Sephiroth she is still using Cloud for her own ends and while those ends are to save the world she is doing so at the expense of Cloud’s sanity.
If you're wondering about Zack... he's in clouds world. Aerith pulled him out of his world and put him in the same world as cloud. How do I know this? For one, it was the white whispers that pulled him in that portal before he almost died from the meteor and Aerith controls those white whispers. Secondly, they would've shown us a dog if he was in a different world, but they never did. Thirdly, cloud is still influenced by sephiroth because of the Dark Materia. Aerith saw this, so she pulled Zack into Clouds world to not only stop sephiroth, but to stop cloud from doing something stupid as well. Hence the "No promises await a journeys end." Zack will track cloud down and will more than likely join the party towards the middle of part 3.
As much as I love how they handled Aerith's death in this remake, I will never forgive them for cutting out Cloud carrying Aerith's body to the materia pool and letting her go to sink to the bottom 😭😭😭😭
I was upset at first too, but I've come to realize it's almost guaranteed that it'll be shown in this final part specifically the livestream scene where cloud "wakes up" they've been very intentional and conscious about faithfully doing every iconic scene right and I don't see a reason to remove it other then to save it for part 3 and reinforce clouds new break Side effect of it being multiple parts years apart I say, point being I think it sucks but I'm betting we will eventually see it once cloud accepts the reality

You are correct that Aerith's death isn't a spoiler at this point. What happens after her death is however...the devs intentionally left that scene out.
Nah, he is merely seeing into the multiverse that has begun merging with itself. Thus he can see things others cannot. Lifestream Aerith isn’t a delusion she’s very real just like Lifestream Sephiroth is they have been chasing for the entire story so far.
Yes I did get that when he was talking about how Sarruf didn’t turn up and Rufus said maybe if it was a better production or something I was thinking ohh it is 100% him!

Aerith is a Cetra, not "truly human", even if Aerith's friends and companions would accept her, most other humans will try to kill Aerith out of fear of a race that is superior to themselves.
The biggest question I have as someone who grew up off the original is the passing of the White Materia between "worlds." From Aerith to Cloud, Cloud to Aerith, and then back to Cloud. I know the significance of the white materia, but confused as to which Aeirth is which and why it turn clear when given back to Cloud. What does it all mean? 🧐😂
@@MrTate66 Why did she give it to Cloud in the first place only to take it back from him. The Aerith in the church obviously isn't the same Aerith in the forest. Because when Sephiroth noticed the white materia in the forest he said, "that does not belong here", and sent the black whispers after him. None of that happened in the original. Both Aerith and Sephiroth are out here playing 4D chess while we only perceive things through Cloud's fractured mind and memories. 🤣

What would be the point of OG Aerith giving Rebirth's Aerith the materia if it's only going to fall in the water again after Sephiroth kills her? I think the OG Aerith needed Rebirth's Aerith materia so she could not only come back and help Cloud fight Sephiroth, but also walk amongst the lifestream again like Sephiroth. The Aerith that fought Sephiroth at the end was too OP to be Rebirth's Aerith. Only time will tell, I guess.

i'm all time FF player from 3 to 16 but not 14.i realise all final fantasy game having kind of bad ending to catch our emotion very well. but well FF9 got kind of good ending . wish they can remake 9 and 10 like they did to 7
Spoilers further down If the white whispers belong to aerith, as they are hindering the team to reach Aerith, are they trying to secure her death? Is she seeking death in a last effort to stop Sephiroth?
yeah just like the original sephiroth kills aerith 😢😢 even we know that's going happen because marlin told Zack. But aerith death was strange, some people say she died in one timeline and the other timeline she lives and the other says she's dead and cloud See's her ghost or something, but she wasn't a vision because red could feel she was there too.
These quotes say so much about Cloud's mental state and whether or not any of it is even real: Sephiroth: You will never see the truth with such clouded eyes. Sephiroth vs Cloud and Aerith: What do you make of this, Cloud? Is any of it real? Or is it all just a fever dream?
Sephiroth says the first line to Aerith in Remake, it's him calling Cloud & Aerith sentimental to these other worlds and memories. The second one is Sephy trying to gaslight Cloud as he always does. I think it's not the best to judge Cloud's mental state based on what the man who likes to toy with him says.

@@nohemi6899 We can't really take anything that only happens to Cloud and his perspective as reality until Tifa puts his mind back together and brings him back to reality in the next game. You get hints here and there that shows us that Barret thinks Cloud is crazy but out of respect for Tifa tries to trust him.
@@slyktech1860 The whole point of Cloud's identity crisis and memory repair is realizing he has always been himself. Hiding himself under a facade of First-Class SOLDIER that Jenova constructed. Cloud's feelings and thoughts the whole journey are always his own. Even Tifa's perspective isn't entirely trustworthy. But clearly, they added scenes to confuse the player as well. Point is Aerith is there in some form or another because Nanaki senses her. Lifestream or another world, Cloud is broken but in this case he's not. The party will absolutely think he's bonkers, but this seems to be one case where he's not entirely nuts.

XD Don't get me wrong, I love speculation and theories as any other person but don't try to act as if you know *for certain* what happened in Rebirth or will happen it Part 3, that's just a delusion of grandure on your part as far as I'm aware.
The part of the game that’s probably gonna stick out the most that I will remember is how stinging the beginning was right after the first chapter “story time” where he makes Tifa cry, by basically accusing her of😂 yeah, I don’t know why- well, I do know why, I’m just-vindictive in how I enjoy just desserts for my pain. But no, the chapter of the game that’s gonna stick out. The most is the parade, that was the part of the game that made me realize that this game was nostalgic for the players of the OG and man was it fun, it felt like something from a retro game, turned it into something fresh and totally EXTRA ❤❤❤ I totally rushed through because I was thirsty for Zack and that’s all - that’s my only excuse, and I hate it😂

Crisis Core is Zack's game and worth playing in its own right it helps fill out the holes
The way Tifa doesn’t say a word after the boss gauntlet is heartbreaking. It looks like it is taking everything in her to move, she even has to be prompted twice to leave the temple. It feels like she’s retreated into herself.
The part that kills me is when Red feels Aerith there, you see Tifa lift her head to look before just letting it fall back to her knees and I just… my poor baby.
Regardless on if you shipped them or not, Tifa loved Aerith. And now she’s gone. Just another person taken by that maniac, another person she couldn’t save. Another tragedy Tifa gets to survive.
So true!! Tifa lost one of the few people she has been open with since losing her father and she was so close with Aerith!
Seeing her cry with Nanaki absolutely broke my heart!!
You hit it. We only saw the fight mostly from cloud’s perspective (what he saw is up for debate).
Our heroine has lost so much and she isn’t being comforted. The one guy who could has effectively lost it even if he is correct.
We forget that the war between aerith and sephiroth centers around on cloud, and he is the main chrcater, but the actions of sephiroth have hurt others, just as deeply. What makes it even more heartbreaking, is that sephiroth while he does understand tifa’s importance, he dosnt see her as important enough to constantly harass (possibly because he knows he is far beyond her league). The consequences of his actions however are enough to put her into depression and ptsd. He prob gets his thrill just knowing that tifa’s life being ruined just as a side effect.
Part 3 better have a moment where it’s just her and him…
Aerith was her supportive pillar. Now she has to handle Cloud's madness alone.
Lifestream Aerith only giving Cloud peace of mind about her fate rubs me the wrong way. Game 3 needs to start with Cloud explaining the multiverse to everyone to the best of his ability. They have been seeing Sephiroth materialize himself from the Lifestream and how he witnessed Aerith do the same. They need some hope.
This game has been a beautiful tribute and homage to one of gaming's most iconic female characters of all time.... Aerith Gainsborough!!! 🌼 🌸 🌻

Knew watching your play through that this would inevitably come. Still one of the saddest moments in video game history, the death of Aerith. In OG when you fight Jenova after and its Aerith's theme playing during the fight just hit and I feel like they captured that perfectly in Rebirth. Bring on part 3.

We still have Cloud and Aerith lying in coma in a different timeline. As well as a possibility that Cloud saved Aerith in another timeline because Sephiroth was merging worlds together and he needed Cloud to expirience pain so he could control him, but Aerith was able to calm him whether from lifestream or another timeline, so Cloud was able to keep a cool head while fighting.
So it's still a mystery whether Cloud is just coping with her death or actually see her in another timeline, or he is just connected to the lifestream and is able to communicate with Aerith.
I’ve been avoiding direct eye contact with anyone whenever I’m out and about.
My eyes are pretty swollen since I have been crying multiple times everyday from watching yours and other play through.

There was only one strike. An alternate world version of Cloud blocked it, but our Cloud (the one we play as in Rebirth) did not.
@@timonalexandr151Our Cloud blocked it but he created another world instead of changing the future and once that world was created his world returned to how thing are supposed to go.
Sephiroth explained it himself the future can’t be changed but you can create alternate realities when things change, that’s why Zack is alive in one timeline but dead on the main one same thing with Aerith.
@@Zero-fx8pc How do you know this? I thought that after the Arbiter of Fate was defeated in Remake and they went through the portal, they could then make different choices that leads to a different future.
@@timonalexandr151 Sephiroth explained it when Aerith pushed Cloud into the portal and we saw how Zack was creating different worlds (one where he went for Biggs, Cloud and one where he couldn’t decide) idk why the whispers are still there but the black ones are controlled by Sephiroth and the white ones appear to be controlled by Aerith.
There is still hope to get her back. Depending on where they go with this timeline stuff and wether this is a prequel or a sequel to AC. At this point we can't really tell.

The aforementioned "street" is the Loveless street where her and Cloud first met (Aerith in Remake part 1 had memories of the future and fun fact, her idle animation in the game files is literally named "waiting for Cloud" and when she gave that flower to Cloud and said "Lovers used to give these when they were reunited" that's a completely new line, she didn't say this in the og). From my understanding Aerith knows that someday she will reunite with Cloud again and it will most likely be on the Loveless street again. Of course all this timeline/multiverse stuff is completely new to the Remakes and it makes me want to belive that Cloud and Aerith could be together again.

And you're so sweet and chill. And from my knowledge, have never said anything bad about Tifa. You just seem to prefer Aerith.
You are definitely not the first or last person I've seen being harassed for the same reason.
And what's worse, is picking Aerith is kind of the intended route for the story. If you get Tifa, whole the last section of the game doesn't make sense. So you being harassed for that is just... I'm very sorry. I hope it has not discouraged you too much.

While I agree wholeheartedly about the losers who harass others about video game relationship preferences I don't think picking Aerith is the "intended" route, it's just serves a different purpose where the Tifa one is only about romance and Aerith sorta spends the whole game making good memories to remember her by and preparing both Cloud and the player for her death like her speech on the Costa beach directly implies. The endgame "dream" sequence also does that imo, tho if you chose her at the Saucer you can interpret it as romance I suppose. Everyone can choose whoever they want without it impacting anything storywise is what I am saying.

Great playthrough, I finished it 2 weeks ago and it was fun seeing you react to moments I had already experienced. I played the original back in the day, it's one of my favorite games, and Rebirth managed to be just as special as that. I can't wait for Part 3, knowing what's to come... There's so much good stuff ahead of us in the final entry of the remake trilogy... ✌️
I'm not sure you played Crisis core FF7 before this, but I recommend not playing it until you either play the original FF7 or the upcoming Part 3. It assumes you have full knowledge of the FF7 story and might spoil you some of the biggest moments in FF7, moments that will surely be depicted in the next game.

About the ending, I think Aerith is acting from the lifestream, which gives her the ability to get inside Clouds mind like Sephiroth does. Nanaki felt Aerith because in Remake part 1, she touches him and gives him her "gift" as well. At least, that is how I see it. A particular line from the ending song, "Take my hand and believe that we can be together evermore", as well as other lines, I feel supports this idea.
There are some theories floating around that the Aerith we see in the ending scenes is just Jenova messing with Cloud, and while that is possible, I'm not really convinced of it.
In any case, Rebirth is AMAZING and I absolutely cannot wait for part three!
This Cloud in the present timeline came from the pomeranian world, but he is still the cloud from the beagle timeline.. Cloud is not sad because he knows that Aerith is still alive in another timeline..
It makes sense why the ending was all sunshines and flowers, cuz Aerith wouldn't want Cloud or anyone to be sad. its not in her nature. Its a crazy juxtaposition. But we all know Cloud is in denial. When the next game breaks Aerith's death down, ooof... It won't be pretty.

For anyone who thinks Cloud isn't all there, do keep in mind that, when Cloud deflected Sephiroth's sword, a rainbow effect occurred. That same rainbow effect could be seen every time Zack made a decision. As the scene unfolded, you could see blood going in and out on Aerith. That seemed to indicate that the scene was flashing between Aerith being dead and Aerith just being tired. Also, Stamp was different in each of Zack's timelines, adding to the evidence of multiple timelines. So, there's every reason to believe Aerith died in the main timeline. But, Cloud managed to create a parallel timeline for her to exist in. A sort of limbo state.
I think the rainbow effect means "The Planet" moreover Aerith...the cloud section of the sephiroth fight is happening within the lifestream I think...and aerith is all the way dead... but being a cetra.. can navigate around the lifestream...the same sephiroth is doing because of where he actually is...and well if you know you know on that lol
Oh yeah, and the reason I'm guessing at this point for why cloud can see her and the sky and whatnot is because of.... well more spoiler, if you know you know stuff lol
I’m very much of the mind that Cloud *did* manage to save her; the world seeming to snap to one where she died, I took that as a consequence of Sephiroth’s “reunion” of worlds. Things may be a little fuzzy and more than a little strange now, but I do believe that in the end, he was able to do *something* even if he still has to say goodbye either way.

And that's why Cloud and Aerith are called the Star-cross lovers; because they can never be together, that is why in Remake Aerith tells Cloud not to fall in love with her because she knows it will only cause him pain and suffering. Cloud doesn't know that is in love with her and he just realizes when she dies; He didn't know how much he loved her until she died.
The love story between Cloud and Aerith is so tragic, a love that could never be.
But maybe this time there is hope, the song No Promises To Keep talks about a reunion between Cloud and Aerith, maybe the two will meet again on that street called Loveness where they met for the first time, maybe in another life or world and they can be happy together.
You apparently never played crisis core! Zack is Aerith’s true love and she even says he gave her no reason not to love him in this game. So here are 2 facts for you:
1. The gold saucer date with Aerith felt like good friends and he loved her like a sister. The gold saucer date with Tifa they actually kissed and embraced because they are childhood sweethearts. This was already mentioned in the game how they liked each other but were shy to make eye contact.
2. The devs says so. They said in deciding Cloud’s love interest they picked Tifa so there, this came from the mouths of the creators.

Why does she tell him not to fall in love with her in the remake? She sees the future and doesn't want Cloud to suffer. Do you know the novel the Maiden ho travels the planet? It is official from Square Enix and is included in the compilation. This game is inspired by all that material, games, movies, etc. She tells Zack that she loves Cloud more. It is normal, it is 5 years, you have the right to be happy, especially because of your destiny. Forgot the shipping. I finally beat the game a few days ago and am making the reaction/streaming rounds. I am amazed how many people don't play the ending with the Buster Sword, considering how the final battle plays out and the amazing symmetry it leads to with Zack's appearance.

It's true that Rebith's ending is confusing, emotionally draining and opens several windows to the future...
But there's one thing that worries me... imagining part 3 of this trilogy without Aerith leaves me completely frustrated. Aerith is the life of this game, the hope, and her relationship with Cloud is unique...
It makes me sad to think that whispers, destiny, timelines... all of this has only served to make fans create theories for years and keep the game being talked about... if that's the only reason for creating all this hope, I'm going to be tremendously disappointed at the end of the third game.
I know that Aerth's death is very much a part of FF7's story... that tragic love that will never happen. But I wish that before her farewell, we'd at least have her big moment with Cloud (guys who like Tifa better, don't get upset with me) ... Cloud and Aerith deserve to have a big moment before their farewell. Square ... is my biggest request

its funny how this song gets to you at the end but not in the theater part.
Great job Jade! it took me a couple of tries to beat Sephiroth during the last phase as well. It's basically a huge DPS race at the very end and he will destroy you if you don't kill him before his stagger runs out. It also doesn't help that the four options given to you at game over are so poorly worded, I'm sure you felt all the frustration there 😛🙂

So sadly that's saying no crisis core reunion. damn that's a shame. The creator and producer of remake and rebirth and reunion went on record to say that it was INTENDED for you to play reunion so that you would understand what was so integral about Zack when rebirth came out. It's such a disservice by not doing this, not only to yourself and the story but also to the developers. Idk why everyone seems to think that the game developers are stupid enough to incentivize people to spoil the end game, by playing a game that they remastered literally on purpose. The writing should be solid enough at this point for people to understand that if remake and the original and rebirth are this great, surely they know what they're doing. By incentivizing someone to spoil the ending by playing a game that they purposely remastered, IT WOULD DECIMATE their sales for the last game. Especially since most people that live ff7 have played crisis core on the PSP in the past. There's not as much incentive to re-buy a game to play that you've already played in the past as their is to buy the ending of a three-part remake. It would make no sense business wise. I really understand people wanting to just make sure but this is getting so frustrating to see people just do this to themselves. However it is your channel and your decision so no one should be able to convince you or force you. I understand and respect that it's just monumentally frustrating. But if that's how you think you'll enjoy the series better than that's the best way to do it. It'd be at the service for anyone not to get the most out of this game series
I don't think that everything in crisis core would be explained in part 3 unfortunately. The game developers are going to be focusing on developing and creating the end game not repeating information that's available in two previous games and 2 previous movies. They won't have the time or space to focus on things that have already been elaborated on when they're having to focus on making the story and game that's ending and wrapping up the entire remake series. Does it make sense from a Time perspective or a monetary perspective or a business perspective. All of the answers entirely in remake 3, but I think what we're going to see is a lot of people go back and play crisis core after 3 comes out years from now and be like "wow I probably should have just played it then. I would be able to understand why the ending of the remake is so impactful Even more." The developers really aren't as dumb as a lot of people think

My favorite scene is the church scene with Cloud and Aerith, it is the most romantic scene in the history of video games.
A detail when Aerith comforts Cloud and tells him that it's okay, she puts her hand on his face, it's the same gesture as in the remake when she tells him that she didn't fall in love with him. She knew her destiny and wanted to protect A cloud from suffering. At that moment, since I know the story, I started to get emotional and when we fought with Jenova and Aerith's song started playing, I broke down xD I had to pause the game 💔💔!❤️
Aerith's scenes, even the optional ones, are almost always tied to the main story and have a deep meaning.

Obviously, Cloud is the vessel that can be filled with emptiness, sadness, hatred, regret (Sephiroth-Jenova) or love, self-acceptance, joy (Aerith).

If you do want to continue post game, I recommend chapter 12 as that is the last chapter before losing Cait Sith. You will only be missing 1 side quest at the gold saucer and to be honest it’s a shitty quest so you can do without. However, you missed the meridian ocean exploration and the protorelic quest which is the best quest in the game so do that too! Looking forward to your next game.

This game was made from a crew that has said they love the original and tried to tell the story with some…DECISIONS…this project isnt just simply retelling the story..it’s perhaps going beyond that. We are privledge for better for worse to be a part of that. What do you make of the ending?
So many questions, so much moments to think on.
1. Every party except cloud when battling jenova gets limit. Breaker…why?
2.why is every party member jovial and or disappears when cloud is in the vicinity (I recall how when cloud and the others bring jenova to the ground, your party members are gone).
3. Did tifa see aerith being covered with blood and then not covered with blood…??
4. How did cloud get the black material..? Did ..did he get in the Forrest?
5. The way cloud SMILES, and acts happy…I mean my god…it’s creepy and yet alarming and also tragic.

I believe in reunion we will see Aerith again. Maybe not alive but in the lifestream. Cloud has lost his mind, and i fear things will only get worse for him. Tifa couldn't even speak to him at the end. All that Tifa and Aerith have done is to protect his mind and now everything is like this.

Cloud isn’t crazy. That’s been recontextualized into him seeing into the multiverse which is beginning to merge with itself. Chances are when he’s wheelchair bound in Part 3 he will be running around helping Zack or Aerith in a different timeline. Similarly to how he was wheelchair bound in Zack’s timeline when he’s running around in the main timeline.

So this time around they made things more confusing for people particularly new players but essentially you (via Cloud) saw multiple timelines play out at once, this is evidenced at multiple points in the end. For example after Cloud and Aerith fell you see what can basically be called timeline 3 with Cloud and Aerith walking around the slums, you know it’s a different timeline as the Shinra mascot Stamp is a completely different breed of dog from the current timeline as well as the Stamp you see at the end of the first game when you see Zack alive (we’llcall that timeline 2). You also see Zack play through multiple potential outcomes within timeline 2 (going to Shinra to get Hojo for Cloud or going to save Biggs or waiting at the church etc). This culminates in the final fight where you see the iconic Sephiroth stabbing Aerith however Cloud keeps seeing 2 different outcomes 1 where he saved Aerith from the blade and (the traditional) time where she is stabbed and killed (the blood you see). You also fight Sephiroth across the 3 timelines, timeline 1 is the group fighting him, timeline 2 is Zack and Cloud and timeline 3 is Cloud and Aerith.
All of this ends the game with Cloud arguably even more mentally broken then he was at the same point in the original game as evidenced by the fact he still sees Aerith and the crack in the sky what’s worse is while Aerith is clearly a good person in any timeline much like Sephiroth she is still using Cloud for her own ends and while those ends are to save the world she is doing so at the expense of Cloud’s sanity.

If you're wondering about Zack... he's in clouds world. Aerith pulled him out of his world and put him in the same world as cloud. How do I know this? For one, it was the white whispers that pulled him in that portal before he almost died from the meteor and Aerith controls those white whispers. Secondly, they would've shown us a dog if he was in a different world, but they never did. Thirdly, cloud is still influenced by sephiroth because of the Dark Materia. Aerith saw this, so she pulled Zack into Clouds world to not only stop sephiroth, but to stop cloud from doing something stupid as well. Hence the "No promises await a journeys end."
Zack will track cloud down and will more than likely join the party towards the middle of part 3.

I was upset at first too, but I've come to realize it's almost guaranteed that it'll be shown in this final part specifically the livestream scene where cloud "wakes up" they've been very intentional and conscious about faithfully doing every iconic scene right and I don't see a reason to remove it other then to save it for part 3 and reinforce clouds new break
Side effect of it being multiple parts years apart I say, point being I think it sucks but I'm betting we will eventually see it once cloud accepts the reality

Aerith is a Cetra, not "truly human", even if Aerith's friends and companions would accept her, most other humans will try to kill Aerith out of fear of a race that is superior to themselves.
The biggest question I have as someone who grew up off the original is the passing of the White Materia between "worlds." From Aerith to Cloud, Cloud to Aerith, and then back to Cloud. I know the significance of the white materia, but confused as to which Aeirth is which and why it turn clear when given back to Cloud. What does it all mean? 🧐😂
I think she switched the empty materia with the white materia and gave cloud the empty materia

Why did she give it to Cloud in the first place only to take it back from him. The Aerith in the church obviously isn't the same Aerith in the forest. Because when Sephiroth noticed the white materia in the forest he said, "that does not belong here", and sent the black whispers after him. None of that happened in the original. Both Aerith and Sephiroth are out here playing 4D chess while we only perceive things through Cloud's fractured mind and memories. 🤣

I think the OG Aerith needed Rebirth's Aerith materia so she could not only come back and help Cloud fight Sephiroth, but also walk amongst the lifestream again like Sephiroth. The Aerith that fought Sephiroth at the end was too OP to be Rebirth's Aerith.
Only time will tell, I guess.

Sephiroth says the first line to Aerith in Remake, it's him calling Cloud & Aerith sentimental to these other worlds and memories. The second one is Sephy trying to gaslight Cloud as he always does. I think it's not the best to judge Cloud's mental state based on what the man who likes to toy with him says.

You get hints here and there that shows us that Barret thinks Cloud is crazy but out of respect for Tifa tries to trust him.
@@slyktech1860 The whole point of Cloud's identity crisis and memory repair is realizing he has always been himself. Hiding himself under a facade of First-Class SOLDIER that Jenova constructed.
Cloud's feelings and thoughts the whole journey are always his own. Even Tifa's perspective isn't entirely trustworthy.
But clearly, they added scenes to confuse the player as well. Point is Aerith is there in some form or another because Nanaki senses her. Lifestream or another world, Cloud is broken but in this case he's not.
The party will absolutely think he's bonkers, but this seems to be one case where he's not entirely nuts.
