You realize autotune was created in the 70s? Lol and I'll stick to black music, this is our shit.. You don't claim black music sir, And the stylistics are a black classic, not a "American Classic" Stop pretending white people ever gave credit to black Ameeican music, yall are so fake.
I am 67 and have four grand girls 16 and under.I played this song in the car for them and had to play it again so they could sing. They also love Betcha By Golly Wow.
As a child of the 60’s and 70’s growing up with all of this amazing music, how fortunate I have been. I can’t listen to the music on the radio today, it just doesn’t have the talent that was around back then.
Guys, you are listening to real music. Russell Tompkins was the lead singer for The Stylistics. His voice is incredible. Everything about this song is great. Glad you loved it.
The Stylisics are one of the Premiere Soul Groups from the early to mid 70s. You just opened A rabbit hole of hits from them. The lead singer Russell Thompkins Jr has one of the most unique Falsett voices of all time. This song is from 1972.
They (The Stylistics) were part of the fame "Philadelphia Sound." This great song came out back in 1972 the year I graduated high school. The lead singer Russell Thompkins Jr. had one heck of a voice. Almost everything the Stylistics sang became a hit. They along with The Delfonics, Blue Magic, Harold Melvin and the Blue notes with Teddy Pendergras, and the 3 Degrees. Helped make the Philadelphia Sound as popular as the Motown Sound. For a while back in the late 60's and early 70's. They even surpassed Motown. You got to react to the groups and artist that came out of 'The Philadelphia Sound Studio and label.
I love the Stylistics, "Betcha By Golly Wow", "You Are Everything" are two more great hits from this awesome group. You should explore the Chi-Lites also "Have You Seen Her." So many great groups in the 70's.
The Stylistics are an American Philadelphia soul group from the 70's. They had a lot of great hits such as "Stop, Look, Listen", "You Are Everything", "Betcha By Golly, Wow", "Break Up To Make Up", "People Make The World Go Round", "You Make Me Feel Brand New", "Rockin' Roll Baby", "You'll Never Get To Heaven (If You Break My Heart)" etc.
I'm 64 yo, and my best friend recently died and when the Stylistics came out, he'd sing their songs. Specifically "Rockin Roll Baby. I loved the Stylistics.
You are so right about your love getting stronger as time goes on. The ones that are fortunate and appreciative enough to last a lifetime absolutely feel that way! ❤❤❤
Love, love, love the Stylistics. They have such a unique and distinct sound. I’d love to see you react to “You are Everything” and “Betcha By Golly Wow”. Promise you will have the same feelings this songs gave you. Mel you’ll definitely want to kiss Shawn 🙂
The Stylistics along with The ChiLites, The Spinners, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes were SO popular & put on a show, fantastic clothes & the voices made you want to dance til the sun rises !! The soul groups & R & B bands were amazing 💜☮️😻🇨🇦
This is Philly soul, this is the real deal…the Stylistics are still awesome I just wish I could go back sitting in my dads farm truck rockin with wolf-man Jack tearing it up and singing with every tune.
Such a great song! There was a whole sub-genre of R&B back in the day with music like this with the higher key vocals and slow jam love song vibe. You guys should check out “Hey There Lonely Girl” by Eddie Holman.
They were here in Stone Mountain , Ga in July and appeared at the Park. They had their band and performed live. They sounded just like they were still singing like they did when they sang this song fifty years ago. Their live perfomance was heavenly. If you like I can send you a couple short videos of their performance.
The Stylistics.... They were huge in the 70s. "You'll Never Get To Heaven (If You Break My Heart") "I Can't Give You Anything" "Let's Put It All Together".... All wonderful songs by The Stylistics. ❤
I love you guys so much..and it's so so obvious how much you love each other! You make me smile every single time I watch your reactions! Don't ever stop 💕💕
I'm very glad to see that some of the music reviewers are starting to review Stylistics and Delfonics they were two of my favorite groups my number one favorite Stylistics song is this one stone in love with you although I have to say that at a close second is there song you make me feel brand new. Just a little side note the Stylistics and The Delfonics were two groups that the Bee Gees loved and tried to style some of their music after. If you go back and listen to some of the Bee Gees music after knowing that they tried to style some of it after the Stylistics I think you can tell a little bit of it in their music. Also there's another song I loved back in the 70s it was a real good song from a group called The Main Ingredient and the name of the song was Everybody Plays the Fool. The lead singer of The Main Ingredient was the father of a very prominent actor.
The Stylistics were very popular in the early to mid 1970's and were one of the most popular groups in what was known as The Philadelphia Sound (also known as Philly Sound). The Philadelphia Sound saw its greatest period of popularity in the 1970's when acts like "The Delfonics", "Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes", "Lou Rawls", "Teddy Pendergrass", etc., were at the height of their popularity. Two of The Stylistics biggest hits are "You Make Me Feel Brand New" and "You Are Everything".
I so love the Stylistics! They were one of my most favorite groups of the 70's. When I was a kid their song. "Rock and Roll Baby" was one of the first 45 rpm's that I bought. I must have played that a thousand times. They are a great rabbit hole to go down, I have. never heard a song by them that I didn't love. Their music always makes me happy.
Ahhh.... yes. Russell Thompins, Jr. Mr. smooth. My wife & will celebrate 51 years of marriage this year. Our "song" when we were first together was by the Stylistics: "Betcha By Golly Wow".... Oh, yes....
I love The Stylistics so much! ❤️They were one of the greatest groups in the 1970’s! My Generation. Philadelphia had some fantastic music artists! I used to be a Pennsylvania Girl I love Philadelphia always will!
Another Group from the around the same Era is Blue Magic. I request their big hit - " Spell." Their lead singer Teddy " Wizard " Mills has a fantastic tenor voice also.
I love your love for each other. It will soon be five years since my husband passed away, and I'm jealous of you two. I had almost 50 years with him so can't complain. Keep expressing your love for each other!
You can keep your auto tune stuff kids. This is real feeling music and talent! The Stylistics are American classics.
You realize autotune was created in the 70s? Lol and I'll stick to black music, this is our shit.. You don't claim black music sir, And the stylistics are a black classic, not a "American Classic" Stop pretending white people ever gave credit to black Ameeican music, yall are so fake.
