I love your authenticity! Both books are really nice and I got the Illumicrate edition. I wasn’t impressed either with the back of the cover. I sadly missed this LitJoy edition and it’s the clear winner in my opinion. 👠I’m excited for LitJoy’s editions of “Exiled by Iron” and “The Girl Who Fell Beneath The Sea” but I’m also collecting their set of Fablehaven. I have “Shadow & Bone” and “King of Scars” preordered from LitJoy also to complete the Grishaverse collection. I am definitely getting Owlcrate’s “six of crows!” Unfortunately I did have to skip the illumicrate august box. Hopefully the magical menagerie box is good when we get it! I’m enjoying the tea from Riddles and wondered if you got the Howls box? Happy reading! 😃📚
Ooh, Ella Enchanted is so shiny! They did a great job. That is very pink for Goddess of the River. Not a huge fan of blurbs only on the back. I'd much rather have a summary there or a design of some sort. 👠 Thanks for sharing!
I’m not a fan of seeing reviews of the book in question on the back of the cover. I don’t even read them because I don’t care about them. However, normally the reviews are above the synopsis. In your special edition, the back of the dust jacket is entirely covered in reviews…kind of ruins it for me, and it’s a shame they don’t have a reversible dust jacket. My fav Taylor Swift song is Safe & Sound I did read Ella Enchanted when I was younger but wasn’t particularly impressed by it. However the gold edges are spectacular
I really dislike seeing opinions of other people instead of description or just bland back cover. One/ two is okay-ish, especially if they're short, but the way Goddes of the River has a bunch of them is definitely annoying, especially on a special edition. I don't want to remember that special edition is still just a product. I want it to feel different than a normal book I would see in a bookstore.
I don't like seeing a bunch of random sentences on covers, especially not on the front. That applies to author endorsements and also 'now a XYZ adaptation' , 'from the multimillion copy selling author of' 'from the insert prize or bestseller list name here author of...'
