I attended the match but was only 7 years old so don’t remember all that much. I recall the huge roar in the stadium when jezza took that mark but I think I was looking elsewhere and missed it..lol. I remember my dad saying at half time that we would watch a bit of the third quarter and then probably go home. It was lucky we stayed on and didn’t leave at half time.
Looking at the 1970 Grand Final, From The Start to the Finish as a Whole, It is quite easy to see that the number & the enormous Outer area Standing Room Facilities Behind Each end of The Goals Back in 1970, as Compared to Today.
G'day mate, I lived in Canberra and yarralumla, mum/dad new the people next door to jazzas, one day in1969- 1970's they had a backyard party i was there and seen how tall Alax was. Foot note mum and my 2 old brothers and go for the Blues but my old man (dad) went for the magpies 👍🇦🇺🦘
"I love it when Collingwood choke, it's football's greatest joke, they've lost more grand finals than any other team...." Brave of you to put this up Gezza knowing your allegiances, but you are kicking goals by doing so. #bestyoutubechannel Thanks Gezza.
G'day years7279, glad you enjoyed the old footage, good stuff, cheers Gezza Great stuff. Thanks for posting. Those different boundary line tv shots were great. Felt close to the action. years7279 1 day ago
G'day mate, being a Carlton fan maybe today's Carlton team should be watching the old footy games of the past they might learn something on how to win to get into the ground final, love the old realsB/W👍go the Blues
Yeh and also there was big areas of standing room only where you could cram in thousands of people. Standing room went right along the length of the southern stand at the back of the ground tier. The modern stands have no standing room, and individual seats, they also have rules today about crowd control and access. Back in the day they didnt care about rules, people were standing in the aisles and even on the field in some games.
curious I have watched this in B&W, I was 12 at the time from Jacana, Kinnard st. Is the full game available in colour? Greatest win ever... My favourite was David Mckay. well any over Collingwood is great!
No sorry, I uploaded all I had from the 1980s when I found it in a Brunswick video shop. The footage was added to the start of a forgotten footy video?
Well you've done well mate, thank you. back in the day they used to release the whole Commentary on a Record Album, my Mum has this game and I used to listen to it a lot when I was younger
Yeah Mike Williamson said it every year: "Surely a couple of blokes with rakes could clear those streamers right off the ground." I think it was a pet peeve of his!
this vfl grand final was better than the 1970 nswrfl one because jezza's mark over graham jenko jenkins was better than bill bucknall smashing john sattler's jaw

The 1970 VFL Grand Final Between Carlton & Collingwood was Interesting to rewatch the 4th Quarter in Color for the 1st time ever.
@J G there aren’t even 240 countries my guy
I'm giving this video a thumbs up simply because I love seeing Collingwood tears watering the MCG turf.

Alex Jesaulenko's mum once yelled at me. That was in the Canberra suburb of Yarralumla c.1971.

they fitted more people into these grounds because they had benches, not chairs. I hope that makes it easier to understand. NO LIMIT.

As an Eagle's supporter I loved watching this 😂
No wonder the centre square came into existence later! Most of the players were around the centre bounce!
Is there the complete last quarter anywhere ?

Torn up telephone books were used too.
They also threw rolls of toilet paper.

+John Lane Go eat a shit-burger with the lot pal.
Nothing wrong with some (un)friendly banter but there is no need to be rude when the game is over.
Collingwood played very well that day.
what?
Hey , the Game ended exactly the same as the first time i watched it , this game is rigged , signed Maggie Pye ,
its funny cause they never win again
