Good on you coming from a Collingwood supporter. The rivalry then and now is still ferocious and to say that is the best compliment. Well done to you, and Bruce!

It's so good to hear respect from a Collingwood legend and Gentlemen like Lou and he's one man I have massive respect for🙏

This is a different Australia on show. Lou Richards hooking up one of the best footy players of his era with cheese, denka rub and a weekend away with the missus. I miss those times.

Wow, I only grew up watching footy in the 2000s, but I feel I should've been born 20 years earlier, just so humble Bruce.

The greatest player EVER. As a Carlton fan he was my hero as a kid, when I began playing I wore 11 and I wore 11 on my back for 7 clubs in 3 states over 20 of 22 seasons played. Only wearing 23 for Dean Rice for 2 seasons when 11 was not available at a new club.

I loved playing, and was spectacularly bad.

Some people have an aura Bruce Doull had the most massive aura I've ever experienced in my life I was only 8 in 1985 when I met him and he only said hello... He must have made you feel 20 feet tall and bulletproof as a teammate as an opponent you must have been quaking in your boots just at the thought of being in the forward line and as for the poor sod Bruce lined up on they just must have thought well that's me fucked.....
Fair hard tough reliable brilliant run all-day skillful determined
    super cool
    Bruce Doull AFL legend !

Even though I am a 'one-eyed' Collingwood member, 'The Flying Doormat' was the only Carlton player I liked. Brilliant, fair, consistent, fair, hard, fair & tough. He never seeked publicity or fame, but was, in my opinion, in the best 5 players I have ever had the pleasure to watch. A true superstar of the VFL/AFL!

Im a North supporter and remember the good old days of watching VFL games where Lou Richards and Peter Landy were commentators and I was pretty much in awe of the flying door mat Bruce Doull.A great consistent player for Carlton. He seems a bit shy on camera here, but the times we all know were very different where people had more respect back then to what people generally are now

  • @ihopetowin

The Greatest Defender to ever ay the game.
That he is not an AFL Legend makes a mockery of the AFL and diminishes Legends status to Mids & Forwards only.
