The greatest player EVER. As a Carlton fan he was my hero as a kid, when I began playing I wore 11 and I wore 11 on my back for 7 clubs in 3 states over 20 of 22 seasons played. Only wearing 23 for Dean Rice for 2 seasons when 11 was not available at a new club.

He must have made you feel 20 feet tall and bulletproof as a teammate as an opponent you must have been quaking in your boots just at the thought of being in the forward line and as for the poor sod Bruce lined up on they just must have thought well that's me fucked..... He never seeked publicity or fame, but was, in my opinion, in the best 5 players I have ever had the pleasure to watch. A true superstar of the VFL/AFL!
