One of the few bands that, if played at a party, all walks of life loved. I’m talking about seriously all walks hip hop kids, rock kids, stoners, “preps,” cowboys, the older and the younger it was amazing. A few big parties that I attended, like 200 people plus, were held together by this as a soundtrack. A true testament to them as a band!
Me tooo :( Big time bummer !! Saw Long Beach Dub All Stars but was too young to fully appreciate it. And saw Sublime with Rome twice but yeah, obviously not the same (still soooooo much fun tho!!!)
Want your mind really blown?, go ask some 45-50 year olds who are life long Long Beach California residents if SUBLIME played in their backyard in early 90s...That’s how they got famous. There’s 100s of people who had them play!
Sublime was supposed to headline the 1996 99x Big Day Out in Atlanta GA. Brad died right before. They were replaced by 311. I would have loved to see them live.
JohnMrubenstein Well, pretty much followed the pattern I’ve found to be true in most instances, being a white guy that speaks Spanish. Here, in a small town in North Central Indiana, when I walk into a place owned by Spanish speakers, they expect me to speak Spanish, and if I don’t they get some what offended. Where as in the West, if I walk into a place owned by Spanish speakers and I speak Spanish, they kind of give me a, “What, you think I don’t speak English?” kind of attitude. I have played quite a bit of Spanish music in this place before, so they were OK with it, but they didn’t really like it.
1st time i heard of em was in a mental ward after being baker acted i just heard of the name subline from a chick that was over medicated yrs later i figured out she was trying to say Sublime

If I had a time machine one of the first things I would do is go back to see a live Sublime show
This is such a great song. The groove is awesome, the lyrics are hilarious and he even has Lou Dog onstage with them.
Not only that, but his blending of Spanish and English is awesome. And his command of Spanish and pronunciation is actually very good.
That Sleng Teng Riddim!

Me Gusta reggae, me gusta punk rock. YES
I have heard it said that Lou Dog was never the same after Bradley died. They really were best friends.
Come on sublime in 2021 still!!! The best
Had the world by the balls and just couldn't get off that junk. 😪😪 RIP Brad
I just played this in a Mexican club full of people who generally only like Norteno, Ranchera, and Banda music. That is all.
How'd it go?
hola del otro lado, Nayarit
