    What a woman!!!! You powered through those flat packs. The timber top is a good contrast to the all white and will absorb some of the glare on sunny days. It's wonderful to see your business transitioning to the next level so organically. The industrial machine, having the tags made, improved storage and so on. It will be interesting to see how the packing goes in that smaller space between the wardrobe and table. It's probably impossible now, but if there's not enough room, spinning the able 180 degrees would give you more packing space and still allow you to sit and the bench section when you need to.
    I hope your family and friends are very proud of you because hundreds/thousands of viewers all over the world certainly are. You go girl! Wishing you all good things for 2022, Simone ♥

    That is the quickest 58 minutes I have ever watched. Same goes for your fabrics shopping and fabric hauls. The money needed to be invested in making it enjoyable to get the work accomplished. I work from home as well and understand when I walk into my so called "job" area that I enjoy it and it is functional too. You have inspired me to make the changes necessary to make my sewing room more functional. Oceans of respect from Florida 🏖️🌅

    I make wooden toys and finish a lot of them with home made beeswax polish. I wouldn't recommend using olive oil, because it goes rancid and doesn't dry down. Check the desk where it's in the sun and make sure the wax isn't sticky or melted before you put anything on it! If you refinish the desk, use linseed or pure tung oil mixed with the beeswax, or sand it back and just use a hardening oil or a water based timber finish. Even a blond shellac, which will leave the timber with a lighter finish than oils. It'll be more durable, and won't get funky in the sun.

    Over the years eyestrain can take a real toll on your ability to see (besides what seems to happen after 40). And if its hard to see its difficult to sew well. So take breaks and look up eye stuff on You tube. Best of luck in current and future business. Love the room.

    Idea for behinds the machine: could you take out a shelf on the kmart shelves and have the scrunchies falling into a bucket underneath on the shelf. Also I love the room 😍 💕

    Stopped by to see your space. Love to see what people do to their creative spaces. First I want to say you are so lucky to have a brother who was willing to come help you. The two things I think I would have changed 1) add a cutting mat 2) put the table on casters so it can be easily moved. Good luck with your scrunchies. I haven’t worn one since the 70’s. I didn’t know people still did.

    I have the same addiction. Fabric collection, bought to make things, but still waiting to get the time. We were re-organising my sewing room on Australia Day and found more fabric I need to wrap onto boards. I’ve been visiting my room. I use a hairdresser saddle chair and have kaboodle kitchen cupboards as my sewing room furniture as we think it’ll be more durable.

    Love your new space! Have you considered turning your Juki to face the window? It could give you a bit more room to access the shelves you have behind it and you can look outside instead of at shelves while sewing.. Also, you can set your camera on the window shelf to video 😊
    LOVE your Juki! I have one on my wish list 😍

      I had the same idea about the Juki facing the window!! More space behind to move. Plus a nicer view. Also flip the table so the lip is on the closet side since your scrunchies will be behind you and easier to grab while packing and you wont be cramped with the Juki. God bless!!

    The olive oil makes it more pliable so it goes on easier. Then rub it in good then let it cure for a few days should soak up all the oil then wipe it off to get any excess oil.

Especially that table! 😍 I'm in the middle of rearranging my office and your video has helped with inspiration, even though I have completely different products to you. i don't have tons of fabric or anything like that I need storage for, but I do have a lot of CRAP 😆🤦‍♀️ I'm terrible at visualising how I want my space to ultimately look and function, but your video has given me hope I can get it sorted 🙃🌻

    How about a rolly desk chair that goes up n down...I work in a lab n we have various heights of work tables, n I. Habdicapped so my chair has to go to all the heights of the cabinets since I cannot stand more than 1 min without excessivepain.. I liked your fabulous redo of your sewing toom...currently I'm using folding 6 ft long tables n have to cut fabric on my dining table which is bar height. Which is the perfect height...you gave me a fantastic option to have built n put in my sewing craft room...thanks heaps for that as it is a wonderful idea...

    • @darbykanter7103
      @darbykanter7103 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, same. I use a singer too. I know in another video she touched on it briefly I don't think she talked about tension but the width she said a 3 or 3.5 then when she sews her tags on the outside of the scrunchie she turns it to a 1 so it's super thin and tight and not super noticeable. Hope this helps, but hopefully she will comment and give better clarification 😊

    Jute bags smell as they are made from natural fibre and become stronger as they take moisture from air ....its nature of material what they are made off.. put cotton bag filled with bicarbonate soda to the box and problem will be solved ...you can add your favouret essential oil to bicarbonate soda pihch so your cardboard will remain smell too.

    This is the first video of yours I have watched and it just showed up in my feed. A couple of suggestions. First, you didn't introduce yourself at all, but still spent the first 4 or 5 minutes kind of rambling on. And, the camera was very jerky and moving quickly as you were trying to show a few spots in the room. That makes it really uncomfortable to watch and I had to stop there. You sound nice and I would have been interested in the topic, so I am not trying to be mean, but just offer a couple of suggestions to consider for future videos.
