Mike Johnson I think his name is the journeyman NHL player that's the analysts reminds me of the fake news in the USA regardless of how ridiculously bad Canada plays he'll find some kind of ridiculous angle to take to make it sound like they're the best team no matter how terrible they are
Problem is, their best player is on the 2nd line and not getting nearly enough ice time. The guys taking stupid penalties dont need to be on the ice if they're a constant liability. How is having someone on the ice that has a high chance of creating a PK situation, better than having a perfectly capable player on the ice, that wont make stupid decisions? Being selected for the team, Hockey Canada is saying "youre the best of the best". If you cant trust moving one of the guys up a spot on the lineup due to someone else playing terribely, they shouldn't of been picked and someone else should have. To make it specific, YES Cowan should be losing playing time. He was the direct cost of at LEAST 2 goals against the USA
Both McKenna and Catton have been our best forwards and should be on the first pp unit... But the injury to Schaeffer is what's hurt us the most... Schaeffer (shades of Makar) was irreplaceable, especially when quarterbacking the pp

Blame equally the players and coach. Players for not playing with discipline. Coach for not clamping down on the players' lack of discipline. But first blame choosing the wrong players.
First only 2 players from the LHJMQ are a pure shame. And they are not the 2 best. The 5 best scorer in the LHJMQ not in Canada team. It's a pure lack of respect for the LHJMQ . The Québec league win years after years the Memorial Cup but the english side of Canada continue to ignore the LHJMQ. Imagine 3 players in the Canada team play for the London Knights . Its more than a entire league . In the Letonie team the goalye who are the best in the tournament play in the LHJMQ and he dominate nothing . In the last 15 years the LHJMQ are the best league in the country but continue to be ignore in NHL draft . The best way to replace this situation are to place in the Hockey Canada office alots of Quebecers. Now not one are there. or the second way to look for us Quebecers are to form our own team. The Québec team. Québec are a Nation like Scottland or Irland and these countrys have there own National teams in all sports , Fifa tournament . Quebec team can rivalise with Sweeden, Finland, Slovakia, Tcheckie, Switzerland for medals. Quebec have approximatively the same number of population than Sweeden but with more players in minor hockey. Quebec team probably win against Canada this year.
Coach needs to sit the guys dipsy doodling with the puck. You can also sit the guys with 2 to many passes. Ya gotta put the puck on the net to have a chance of victory. It would appear some players think it's a video game???
Don't think that's the problem... Deep in the zone guys have been treating the puck like a hot potato, rushing too much, missing the net from the slot, sending errant passes into skates ... The Yanks demonstrated far more patience and pose with the puck round the net... Plus looked far more dangerous off the rush... Canada was on the pp, a Yank loses his stick... Why not try to beat the 'sans stick' kid one on one, since he's at your mercy, and hit the open man with a cross ice pass for a possible empty net goal? Steada just taking a little sidestep and blindly shooting the puck? Starting goalie should have been Ben Hrebik and backup goalie William Lacelle and third goalie Jesse Sanche.
The forwards could have been a lot better too. They left three NCAA stars off the team, not to mention another 5 other goal scoring forwards.
The USA deserved to win because they selected the best roster. Congratulations
The absolute NERVE of the coach placing the entire blame on the players being undisciplined…what does a coach do, then?!
Coach needs to send a message to keep their sh.t together.
Mike Johnson I think his name is the journeyman NHL player that's the analysts reminds me of the fake news in the USA regardless of how ridiculously bad Canada plays he'll find some kind of ridiculous angle to take to make it sound like they're the best team no matter how terrible they are
He has to play the moderate card. If he blasts team Canada he could lose his ride.
@@berryscott3590 If only Canada had another offensive defensemen that they could of brought along to help *Zayne Parekh*. Maaan the politics behind Hockey Canada really kinda ruin what could be
They simply picked the wrong players.......coach was selfish !
I will be genuinely surprised if we get a medal in this tournament.
Canadian Hockey fans as a whole must realize that other countries play and excel at Hockey…this may be revelation…
We lost one because of a hot goalie who stopped 50+ shots, and were dominating the third but had penalty trouble and lost a tight game with 30 seconds. Let's all relax.
Trudeau . Whole country is angry
Christie Freeland
TSN panel was coping trying to blame the refs 😂😂😂

I miss the wrecking ball players Canada had in the tournament ~20 years ago. Now, nobody hits.
If it’s the players responsibility to play as a team then what’s the point of a coach? Just a suit behind the bench collecting a pay-cheque?
Road Apples! How can Hockey Canada's 2 scouts ignore the draft picks of 32 NHL teams that employ on the averge 5 pro scouts per team? Are we in the IIHF junior Championship tournament to win, or to just ice a team? Real mindset changes are needed before the 2026 toutnament!
As a USA fan keep Cameron as head coach until you end up in the B pool
Remember the scene at the beginning of Miracle when Herb Brooks & Craig Patrick are talking on day 1 of the Team USA tryouts. Herb tells Craig that he's not looking for the best players...he's looking for the RIGHT players!!! Well....fiction or real who cares.....the point is well taken with Team Canada. Maybe the "brain trust" went for a bunch of individual stars at tge expense of a solid and disciplined TEAM!!! A true team player would not be taking selfish, idiotic retaliatory penalties but you saw it on full display vs USA....played right into the USA hands.
If that happens tonight I'd bench the undisciplined players & run 3 lines if necessary.
porter marone flopped in a scrum early in the game, he challenge the hockey gods with that one. that powerplay ended after 2 seconds with a trip.
play the right way.
Agree with bruce
Blame equally the players and coach. Players for not playing with discipline. Coach for not clamping down on the players' lack of discipline.
But first blame choosing the wrong players.
for that question. - the players
Easy answer, the "Coach", if you can even call Cameron that..
This is what happens when you leave more talented players like Parekh, Yakemchuk and Misa at home in favor of, ostensibly, grittier role players
Nobody to blame. Its team game, shit happens. Now no more mistakes.
When the HC picks a bunch of players from his own team n gives the C to one of those players that coach should have been relieved from his duties! Cameron is responsible nobody else!! 😡👊🏼👎🏼
Monopoly is over - Global parity is real
20 Gold Medals for Canada... 6 for USA, 5 for Finland, 2 apiece for Sweden and Czechs... (Russia/CIS have 13)... None for anyone else...
Not sure that constitutes parity... NOT YET

the picked hard hitting guys and not high offensive scoring players ,,,,,,it was a bag player pick all around.....period

The team has players who should not be on that team. It’s political. Rich, influential parents with sub par players playing for the country

The suck 5 on 5 as well
FIRE DAVE CAMERON AND COMPANY NOW!!!! SO ARROGANT. HE SHOULD BE APOLOGIZING TO CANADIANS, NOT SAYING HE HAS NO REGRETS. FFS
Get over it folks ,these are young boys why go on about who to blame sometimes you win sometimes you lose. Not the end of the world it's just a game. The big problem is there youngsters that want to play sports but can't afford it. I've watched this for years where money has come ahead of skills, there is probably a gold mine of talent being rejected because there parents could not come up with the cash for there kids to play sports.
Cameron
Canada was the favorite🤔really🤔did they watch the prelim games🤔Canada was as uninspired and uncreative as I have ever seen…they were actually worse than last year.
Cameron,
Who's to blame? The other teams were better.
It doesn't matter what you do. No team will beat Sweden.
Give your head a shake.
Yeah right... 2 gold medals in over 40 years... and none since 2012... If there's ONE THING our Canadian Jr Team (20 Gold Medals!) has ALWAYS done, in a Sudden death game, it's BEAT SWEDEN
@@berryscott3590 everyone's giving up on this team. There is no motivator like embarrassment. CANADA IS TAKING HOME THE GOLD.
Well. History don't mean $hit. Work ethic and a calm mind is key.
@Mr.Rosebud swedes just barely beat Lativia 3-2..... how's that for history.
Coach
For the last game the refs.
This is the fall of Hockey Canada, two years in a row a bad team played poorly. Not even close to contention. Sad Canadian people can no longer afford to have kids and put them in hockey.
Ok skip.....
What a bunch of HOSER😂😂😂😂
Dave Cameron's judgment is apparent with that lame try hard hairstyle.
whoever says the officiating was bad for the Canadians sorry bud you're on planet delusion.
Our goaltending sucks too, not just the discipline with guys infront of him .
What are you talking about? Our Goalies, BOTH George and Ivankovic vs Latvia, HAVE BEEN GREAT! Our forwards can't finish, the injury to Schaeffer hurt us BIGTIME, coach Cameron and Hockey Canada braintrust look like idiots in terms of player selection and management... BUT BUT BUT... Canada lost motivation since Russia left the tournament
lol, the last time Russians won U20 was in 2011 so don´t make it look like they were always the strongest contender. Anyway, Russians are not missed thanks to their brutal, illegal invasion of UA.
@@kfjdsoihf8452that’s nothing but cope. All international athletes are worse off for Russia not being there. Lowering the level of competition is never beneficial. And why punish athletes over politics they have nothing to do with? The west is just petty and immature in how they deal with their mistakes and loss. They think they are superior to everyone else and treat them accordingly. Why didn’t the USA get kicked out of international competition for its illegal invasion of Iraq under false pretenses which resulted in the deaths of over 1 million people? Why the double standards?
Dave Cameron sucks
Who's to blame? Well, TSN can take one of the bows on that.
For deluding Canadian fans with the lies that this was as talented a Cdn team as previous years, when clearly they are not...and with the field steadily getting better (see: Latvia).
The huge over-expectation pressures from this homer propaganda and disinformation manifests in the players as desperation and panic to do too much.
How can this be on the coach? He only has them for like two weeks lol
Because the coach had 3 exhibition games, and 4 round robin games to fix this/get his message across... You move guys who take selfish, undisciplined penalties further down the lineup, limit their ice time, park their keister on the end of the bench, or potentially make them healthy scratches...
The first sudden death game is a VERY STRANGE time to BEGIN to address this... Besides, the head coach had the most say, in terms of player selection and final cuts... You chose grittier role players over more skilled guys... Now you're surprise by a failure to score and a constant parade to the penalty box?
USA is totally dominating this tournament together with Canada. They are stomping on all teams.
Canada vs US in the final. Sweden and Finland for bronze game. Sweden, which looks incredibly ineffective and also weak defensively, will finish 4th.

Ok, he's not the most polished commentator... Still, I always like Bruce, even as a coach, for his substance/insight...
The officiating was total bullish!t in that US game! You can't blame the players for terrible BS calls! It was obvious that the fix was in early on in that one. If we meet the US again, expect more of the same garbage!
Look I'm Canuck too... BUT... You're dreaming in technicolor... All of those calls were warranted... Seriously... a cross check to the neck, a hit from behind near the sideboards which was already interference anyway, a high elbow delivered from distance, a flagrant holding that lasted from the blue halfway to the redline... After whistle rough stuff by Penelli negating a Team Canada powerplay... Need we go on?
@@berryscott3590 OMG are you blind or stupid????? You call that a HOLD??????? That was the furthest thing from a hold! It's called battling along the boards and getting tied up with your man! And the so-called crosscheck was a gloved push--no stick involves AT ALL! And the push "into the boards" wasn't even in the direction of the boards, yet somehow that's where the guy went. It's called a DIVE! Look it up! And Heaven help you if that's what you think is an elbow! Dude, hockey isn't the sport for you! Maybe you should start watching televised poker. @berryscott3590 I can't tell whether you have vision issues or are re-tar-ded, but none of those calls were even close to legit! A gloved push, a rubbing-out along the boards where the players get tied up together, a blatant dive into the boards after a hit that didn't even send the player in that direction. Give me a break dude! This is supposed to be hockey, not tiddlywinks!
@@berryscott3590 And the same BS again today too! It couldn't be more obvious! The fix was in from the start!
@@LeoBond 'The Fix was in'...blah, blah... You sound like a whiney Euro cry-baby... Look at the replays... The calls against Canada vs US were legit... As for tonight's game... Not so much...
The five + game wasn't legit, since the first contact was shoulder, Sykora was moving laterally... plus it wasn't even a knee on knee... It was a hard hit, and I'm OK with 2 minutes under those circumstances.... But you could see Sykora looking up to make sure the penalty was called, then acting hurt... Czechs, since time immemorial, have been known for their theatrics...
Also the goalie interference call was a head scratcher since its clear the Canadian (Who was it Cowan?) was pushed into the Czech goalie... I'm OK with the 'No Goal' call, since the net came off its moorings...
