MrMaster767 i wonder whenever i visit long island, if i will ever see u. that would be awesome! trains interest me sooo much but i dont get to see much in Florida ;(
@@MrMaster767 I know, I've seen the pair of cars being tugged around in a few spots. I meant in active service. Riding them was like stepping back in time.
This is a fantastic video. Thanks for making it. The trains that don't stop at VS seem to be on very new tracks. Is that the Babylon line? The "station" tracks and switch area seem to be quite old. Which line is the "substation" side going to or coming from? Which line is the other side where the trains seem to go/come from the left? Loved seeing the work truck, and the single diesel locomotive going through. Nice camera work, and great quality.
The far tracks are from the Babylon line, the next station going east is Lynbrook and there is a platform for those tracks at Lynbrook, back in my day some of the Babylon trains would stop at Lynbrook and some wouldn't. The trains coming out of Valley Stream make a right turn to the West Hempstead Branch, while the Long Beach trains go to Lynbrook like the Babylon Branch and then turn off after Lynbrook to the Long Beach Branch
Excellent job I'm if trains to Babylon via Bellmore do stop here at Valley stream for West Hempstead trains or Far Rockaway LIRR with A train transfer.
EpicThe112 They do but very late at night what you can do is go to Lynbrook then catch a train that is coming from Long Beach and go to valley stream for a Far Rokaway or west hempsted
Do the West Hempstead trains terminate at Valley Stream because this is my local stop and when I'm up there, they (most of the time) Block the Penn bound trains. And that guy at 18:50.
Its because LIRR station are farther apart that subway stations . Its like 1 station per town. Subway stations are 5 -10 blocks apart. Also, LIRR is a Commuter railway with not sharp turns. Plus, Curved tracks are banked so LIRR trains go high speed.
Mussels to me Electric trains are safe for the environment, they’re often quiet, they accelerate faster, and some electric trains are attractive to look at. High Speed EMU’s are kinda dull to look at, like ICE in Germany, and the TGV’s in France. But trains like Railjet from OBB, DB’s commuter and Freight are very elegant to the eyes with their red simple Livery’s. LIRR is also pleasant to look at from the outside. The sounds of electric engines whining when leaving the station, the sound of the electric engine fans in an Electric Motor is enjoyable to the ears at times. I also like Electric Trains because I live behind a Union Pacific/Amtrak tracks and Grade Crossing. They’re loud with their engines, and they leave black diesel residue on the walls. Not to many UP freight hauling from a freight station not far down my area. And they make neighborhood rattle from just the sound of an idled UP loco.
That first train slithered her way to the West Hempstead branch on the switches. Loved it. Great footage!!!
It's now 2023 and you can't see trains making that move anymore.
4:32. A truck on crack.
You got some fantastic shots coming and going on the W.Hempstead line !
750 Volts are on the third rail, DEADLY 😵
I will miss those M3 commuter cars!
Same
They will be around for a lot longer than some expected.
lots of good stuff in here Valley Stream is pretty interesting with all the switches. My Dad grew up there, grandma was there until 2010
I really like when you are in Mineola
And bethpage and hicksville
Could u also go to syosset sometime?
Could u go to Penn station?
I plan to go to Penn sometime next Week to get an M3 to Port Washington

I wish we still had the M3 cars, they were pretty cool.
They are still here. Currently only being used for Drill moves Roustabouts, and Testing.

And they are there for a period of time.
Only the scoot does in the morning and during weekends
When I go, I usually go around 11am to 1 pm
That's the scoot
4:08 Truck
I find a lot of trains in mineola and Penn Station.
Well You go to all destinations from penn and Jamaica
M3 are still running in mineola!
Crazy Legoboy What happened to M7s?
I actually laughed at the truck (4:15) driving on the tracks. I don't know what made it funny.
Some maintenance vehicles
Is that necessary?
Yes to maintain the tracks
How often do these trains run I'm curious
During rush hour, every 5-7 minutes and during off peak every 15-20 minutes
i dont understand why they have a train that is 3 times longer then the platform.
Its a shame that even the MTA's Subways (A ,C,4,5,6.....) is a lot slower than the LIRR ALSO Controled by the MTA.
Long Islanders are lucky like me

Can someone explain the fascination with electric trains please? They seem pretty dull to me but id love to learn whats so cool about them

***** Only once and saw 660
***** PM me through Google+ when ya can
i ben in that stop
You find rats on the tracks at Penn Station.
The first video that started, it sound like a weak, but good horn for M7.
Didn't blow fully.
Yep. This is why fully horns are amazing to hear.
Yup.
If you double speed the camera doesn't it really show what a hundred sixty miles an hour it would look like.
Tish kinda qute
first comment.
LOL
