    Can you also review mitakon 65 1.4 on GFX mount? TY

    At f0,95 , you set a pre focus zone and move your body not the focus ring. An old photograph trick.

      I’m surprised no one else has said this. I’m in my 50s. Was a trick we always used for lens like this.

    For $200 used, vs $1600 used for a GF110mm... it's a no brainer for my very limited needs of portraiture (just my wife and daughters really). 8x cheaper? Absolutely. Stopped down to f/2 focus gets worlds easier and edge performance improves.

    Between 45-100 and 120mm macro I use with my s100, this TTA 90mm lens is absolutely amazing, like you said it let me slow down, relax and enjoy manual photography like I did decades ago. And results are stunning. And it saved me almost two grand on portrait lens when compared to famous 80mm F1.7.

    My only issues is vignetting on GFX even stop down 5.6 otherwise is almost perfect for a manual lens

      if you have high vignetting on GFX, I guess you use it in adapted full frame mount, worst mount is Nikon when adapted to medium format.
      You should try it in GFX mount and it should be much better.
      I'self use it in Hasselblad medium format X mount and it give only moderate vignetting at full aperture.

    Excellent review on this 90 mm lens ! But how about Dazzling us with the Sigma 85mm art lensm , and the Sigma 70 to 200 mm lens with your Fuji GFX50S ! I would love to see the image quality , and to learn more on the aspect ratio of these two lenses . On a medium format camera . Thank you !

    Great review. I’d love to see a comparison between this lens and the Zeiss 100/2 macro ZF2

      More like 72mm on GFX

    Lovely. I'll genuinely consider this lens in RF mount. Thanks for your typically well fleshed review.

    So it's the native gfx mount version of the lens? Any vignette? I saw the Leica mount adapted on the gfx has vignette

      A little, but nothing that I noticed out of the ordinary - darker corners, sure, but the image circle of the base of the lens covered the sensor. No blackout anywhere.

    I have the Canon EF 85 1.2 USM II that I LOVE but it has too many drawbacks and im looking for an alternative. Have you tried that lens of GFX?
    It’s great, definitely has character(lol) but the AF just isn’t usable at all and it’s a tank of a lens to carry around. Focusing ring is ironically very loose and by wire, so I can focus it quickly but it’s easy to overshoot the focus. Also, it’s 3-4x the price of this lens.

    • @finder2267
      @finder2267 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same boat. I found the translated AF to be unstable at 1.2 and IQ wasn't anything to write about (like it always had been.) ill probably just buy the 80mm 1.7 or the 110mm.

      @bobby350z 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@finder2267 - I had both all those lenses and 85mm f1.2 II wasn't as bad as you say. I actually feel bad for selling my 85mm f1.2. At the time there was no Fringer Pro adapter like now.

    • @finder2267
      @finder2267 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bobby350z with lenses sometimes your lens will preform differently than another copy. A lot of people with C85 1.2 II adapted described the inherent issues of the C85 worse on the GFX. They are mostly the same issues on native canon bodies but worse. The lens wasn’t known for its sharpness at 1.2 rather DOF. If you are looking for DOF, sure. Me, I don’t miss it. Plus I sold two years ago while prices were high!

      Corners are always low on the Hasselblad X1D at any aperture, also not crisp sharp over the whole image surface at nearest focus distance and infinity.
      Nothing to do with the Hasselblad 80mm 1.9 that's tack sharp over the whole image at all apertures, all distances at all apertures.
      But this TTartisan makes so nice unique portrait pictures

  • @jean-claudemuller3199
    @jean-claudemuller3199 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A lens for gorgeous unique portraits, with bad results at all apertures on infinity or closest focus, so no landscapes, no objects but stunning beautifull portraits, my experience is based on on Hasselblad mount with the X1D

    It is an M lens mind set engineering lens. Not made for lazy guys.

  • @Benjamin_Jehne

    To be correct, the crop faktor is x0.79, so this is a FF equivalent of 71mm F0.98, not 0.75 as this is not a real medium format sensor. So it's more a F1.0 which is close to a stop slower than 0.75.

      Nah for two hundred bones it’s a great deal. Let’s face it, unless you make a living from photography, dumping two grand into a 110 is a poor financial decision.
