- Council Tax Payments dates REFUSED! by councillors across several councils. They have either failed to pay on time or have not paid at all and some have been summoned to court. An FOI request has been appealed at tribunal level and it has been ruled lawful to name them.

Council tax in any sensible society would be classed as a scam.
You should see the social care bills of some councils, thing is people are living longer due to NHS keeping them alive by all these new drugs etc, that's if you call it living vegetating in a chair for years and been fed by care workers, taken to the toilet, application of dressings for immobility sores and the enormous energy bills for such establishments, it will get worse, probably 25% of income will go on council bills.

You are aware that in the US the third biggest killer is the pharmaceutical industry.. that's not from over doses either that's purely because almost ALL drugs do NOTHING but harm/kill.... We're living longer due to better sanitation and food storage/prep..... Reading actual books and research is way more Bermudian than blindly believing legalised drug pushers.

When you stack all the taxes on top of each other for people who are on PAYE in particular, you will see we are closer to slave than free.

Every town, city, village, has lost services, or drastic cuts, affecting everybody, these places are becoming derelict, how do you pay for more for less, it's in my opinion, fraud, deception and unlawfull.

CT doesn’t go to the local council, it goes to central government, who then decides who gets what. Some of that money goes towards illegal wars, making us complicit in genocide.

What we need to know is that a Council Tax demand is issued by a 'Body Corporate' (Your Council), and there's no 'contract' between a private person and a corporation in this case. "There is no contract", it's simply a 'demand' for money that is eventually sent directly to the Inland Revenue office and the National Government consolidation fund. We are not told ( no itemised statement of accounts) exactly what the (your) money is being spent on. None payment is NOT a matter of law, it's a private corporation (the council), and therefore can only be dealt with in a "Civil" court. IT IS NOT A CRIMINAL OFFENCE to withhold payment of Council Tax.

Council Tax is not Law, it's some very dodgy, inequitable legislation that's illegal under the founding laws of our country.
Can't we appeal the council tax? Keep the money back, (it's better to earn interest in your bank than theirs) and appeal the amount they want? Ask what services are going to be improved for the increase? And more importantly ask about services that are being cut.
You can ask for a bill or an invoice. You won't get one because it's not a legal bill.
Ours has gone up by 4%, i have also noticed that you used to pay by direct debit but it was over 10 months, now its done over 12 months but its nearly the sane amount! As the saying goes, at least Dick Turpin wore a mask when he robbed you

The council can cancel a council tax bill for certain reasons. What I'd like to know is how many of these councillors have had their's cancelled or been let off . Or know how to get out of paying it completely and the councils are keeping quiet about it.
I live just outside of Nottingham, which has just gone bust. Thankfully, I'm under Broxtowe and not Nottingham City Council. Nottingham residents face massive cuts to services and a 10% rise in council tax.
The only thing that keeps Nottingham going is the cameras 😂😂

@kevinbarker2453 The city is on its backside. It has gone right down the pan over the last decade or so. It used to be Derby that was seen as a joke, but now it is firmly the other way round. Derby is improving massively and has a solvent council.

@@TheGamesEmporiumIt’s a scam, the councils are printing their own Summons, which is fraud. They rent a room in the court, with their own people in. Only the court can send a bailiff to you, who will have all the details, but that won’t happen, as it’s not the real court. The enforcement officer is private and have no authority, I believe.

When we had rate’s everything was wrote out where it was going to this is how we found out our water was free we only paid a small amount to cover maintenance but when the government sold the water to foreigners then the water meters went on that was when the water was not free anymore

When I worked on my council, we were informed that it is a revineue tax ,and you can be evicted for non payment, as it is an excise tax, but not for rent arrears. We all ways had massive rent arrears in the millions, i think it must be going Down now , as all rent and rates for the new home owners that are immigrants , is payed for out of the government exchequer , as they are unable to work for not speaking English so it is a win win, but not for any one on hard times because their work place went belly up. And not one party want so level up the difference.
A tax based on a perceived value of a property is utter bollocks. It should be an equal payment by each adult, regardless of income or location. That way, a lone granny in the home she bought decades ago with her husband would pay less than the 15 extended-family members of South Asian descent who live next door.
That was Poll Tax. And people didn’t like it. It was in better proportion to wealth. Thatcher lost her way after its failure.
Today with so many single occupancy houses (25% discount) and a large economically inactive households, the numbers paying would be a smaller proportion. That would mean much higher rates for those actually paying the full whack.

Whilst the DWP runs most State Benefits, using funding from central coffers, Council Tax Reductions are administered by local Councils, also fully funded by Westminster, going via the devolved governments in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. So any shortfalls are made up, therefore Council Tax levels the councils set are not diminished by payments for those getting reductions. So for each adult, no matter their status, councils get the same income. Community Charge, dubbed the Poll Tax by a body that became the Socialist Workers Party, was to replace the Rates (a notional valuation of a home). Students and the unemployed would pay only 20%. But students and the unemployed somehow got the idea that paying 20% would be more than they already paid as Rates. Riots ensued, and Community Charges were dropped, resorting to the Rates valuation that we still have today. Revaluations occur, always upwards, so the taxed rise annually. I rent my home, but as the value of homes near ours rise with the Housing Bubble, I have to pay more even though I will never benefit from the increasing value of the home I live in.

if most of the country organised and communicated with each other and refused to pay council tax we would bring the councils to their knees, it's something to consider. Strength in numbers. We are being ruled by the priveleged elite. All we have to do is stand together and say no and defend each other when the time comes. It's been done before.

Thurrock Council, in Essex the Council Tax rise is going up by 7.99% and since the last rise, last year, they have cancelled the Bus service (THE ONLY BUS SERVICE THAT COMES PAST HERE!).
They are real fckuers, the people in the Council who decide this. Now, there are people who can't get around like they could before.
7.99% after 9.99% last year. Now talking about £80 per year to empty the brown bins!. Wanting Thurrock taxpayers to pay again after the council went £1.5Billion in dept.

What is a disgrace is the % rise every year. Every year the increase is a bigger increase because of the %. The increase should be a "flat rate" increase.

Council Tax goes into a consolidation fund with central government or Westminster! Which is a corporation!
If I miss even ONE payment I get a letter DEMANDING THE WHOLE AMOUNT - or bailiffs will be coming to reclaim the “debt”.
Its a yearly agreement, just by even paying 1p you have consented to the whole amount being owed to the council.
When council tax pays out to lgtbq, blm, climate change, ect then they go bank rupt, and no work is done in repairs, public amenities, then they ask in April for more money along with rent increases, also telling you work may not be covered, yet no change to to of the pops bosses, pensions, bonuses, ect, is this why we the payer need legal help.

The councillor says ' I pay large amounts at my own choosing' he's 'aving a bleeding giraffe. The vast majority of us set up a direct debit to spread the cost. Begs the question, when and where from does he get the large amounts to pay it when like the rest of us he is monthly paid. I smell a rat.
There are too many councillors who seem to take advantage of their position for their own convenience and benefit. As a representative of the people in their ward they should exhibit the utmost integrity and if they are disqualified from carrying out their duties then they should be expelled from the Council and an election called out to select a new representative. Disclosing the councillors failures should be a matter of public concern and should not be hidden behind GDPR.
Income tax was introduced in 1798 after the Napoleonic War, perpetual wars means perpetual taxes to collect.
In 1696 the widow tax was introduced to cover the loss from coin clipping it became the sales tax on houses in 1850.
council tax should be paid by high earners meaning over 30k a year anything lower than that shouldnt have to pay it

They are all at it Swantage town council paid £27,000 to Dorset Council for council tax on non existent beach huts it's a gigantic money laundering operation don't get me started

They had better not bother increase ours in South Shields, our recycling bin hasn’t been emptied since before Christmas folks, being emptied this week “apparently” the household bin wasn’t emptied for 8 weeks, due to ongoing dispute which is due to continue for another 6 months.
Until there's been an independent court decision, past any opportunity to appeal, it's uncertain whether the councillors do actually owe any CT. So certainly should stay private.
There's far too many errors in CT decisions, even at liability ordee stage.
As councillors are paid much more than their council tax in expenses, an honest council would have no trouble collecting the tax by deducting the outstanding amount from these expenses. I won't be surprised to find out they don't !

Council Tax is Collected by the councils. But goes into the CONSOLIDATION FUND, this is a central government fund which is added to every other tax ,duty, fund etc. The central government gives some back as a GRANT to pay something towards the running of an area. Most councils also have their agenda.

Taunton Council raised theirs by 10.5% last year

We pay on the 28th of the month over a 12 month period which reduces the payments a little. ive never had a late payment letter not once.
Instead of taxing the property the councils will start taxing the people who live in the property. Poll tax anyone.
With the benefit of hindsight, the Poll Tax was actually more equitable than Council Tax, but since more money is generated from Council Tax, it's highly unlikely that Councils will wish to revert back to the former system. Gotta keep them Council Leaders Pension Pots topped up somehow !

If you look on any council tax bill the break down to who gets X amount the local council gets less. The top recipient of any council tax is the Police Constabulary. They get paid twice once from central government and then again by the people of their county. plus the people are on the hook for any shortfall the police get e.g.: if the police have to replace their vehicles we pick up the bill. as has happened in Devon.
Everything goes up, yet the min wage & benefit increases wont rise enuf 2 cover them... we're getin poorer & poorer each & evry yr.
btw prices for petrol and diesel are 3 X as high as in Russia ...
