Omg, thank you so much for this video, there’s not really any good videos on the Cissus on TH-cam. I’ve been keeping it close to the window where it gets direct sunlight in the morning and a lot of the leaves are crispy, so now I know I need to move it, and now I know how to propagate it! Thank you so much
I came online just now to look up care for 2 very different plants.... I was very pleasantly suprised to have this video recommended after only looking up Silver dollar vine. Saved me the effort of finding a separate cissus discolour video. I have over 100 plants so pretty awesome coincidence : P
This plant is all over the roadside here and they look so good , I told my sister that I'm planning to pot them they laughed at me now after this I'm definitely going to do it.
Love the intro Christian, you are living up to your name’crazy’ plant giy❤️😂 Your cissus is gorgeous, on my wishlist, its not common here in NY surprisingly. The silver dollar vine is one of my faves, she reminds me of a hoya☺️
Hi Christian! Awesome plant. EYECANDY! 👀🍭🍬 Beautiful Cis Dis.💚🌿🌱 Gorgeous! That chain of hearts in the background, though, still best flex plant! It is looking really full and thick! Wow😍😍 Thanks for another great video!
I have a Xerosicyos Danguyi that is less than 2 years old that I bought as a small rooted cutting. It is now on a 3ft U-snapped trellis. It is grown in an east facing window and supplemented with a grow light bulb. It goes quickly for me. Love the Cissus discolor.!
That’s awesome. The growth that I got this year was super fast, but the previous year was a bit slow. Hoping for faster and moser growth from here on end. 🤞🏼
Silver dollar vine has been on my wishlist forever, but I can never find them in my local nurseries! Hoping to find one soon because I love them so much! Also, your videos always make me laugh AND you have such good plant tips 💞
Cissus discolor is something I’ve wanted for so long but have always been afraid to dish out the money then proceed to kill it. I’ll just admire yours. Good job!!!

Thanks for the tips in caring your Cissus and Silver Dollar Vine which I don't have yet because I have not seen them in the store I visit. Keep safe, guy. Godbless...--Philippines...
My cissus was planted in peat and looked sooo soggy, so I immediately repoted it. The roots were dark in color and didn't look white at all. I made a mix with pumice, potting mix, orchid bark and succulent soil. It has good drainage now. I hope I've done the right thing. Cross fingers
Do you know if we can also propagate with one leaf and one node like a pothos? I don’t want to remove the leaves to have a bare node because I only got six leaves cutting from a trade! 😭
Another good intro. I thought of you the other day- I happened apon a plant store pop up in Yorkville village (lower level). (Not owned by me or anyone I know).
My Cissus discolor infected with aphids, so I had to wash every single leaf. Now, it’s thriving and vining on my other plants, but then it seems the main vines are drying. I will have to move it away from direct sun and start cutting some vines too to propagate. Thanks for the insight.
@@CrazyPlantGuy Need your help! My cissus discolor is very healthy leaves and all but for some reason everyday its been dropping its leaves. What could be the cause? Pls and thank you!

Hi I have a cutting of the Cissus Discolor for a while I didn't know what it was. Till I saw it on your video. Mine is about a foot long but I want to make another piece from it. Should I cut it or let it grow?
I'm SO happy you did this video! I just received both of these plants last week from an online order and my cissus has been on the struggle bus since it arrived. I'm going to propagate it and see if I can fill it in and resurrect it. 💚 Great content as always! Thank you!! 😊 One question, do you let your cissus callus over also before putting it in water? If so, how long do you sit it out?

Hi there, wow your cissus discolor is doing really great. Very impressed with the way you take care of your plants. I am noticing some yellow spots on mine:-(. I don't know if its a pattern of the plant or its some kind of pest. Could you please help? Also, suggestion on what can be done please? Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance.
Can this plant get "grape pearls" on it? I have noticed clear balls on my vine, primarily on new growth. I have not noticed any bugs at all. I know the cissus discolor is a relative of the grape plant, which gets sap-like pearls on it when growing rapidly, so I figured that was the next option.
My cissus discolor is fairly large. Recently some of the leaves developed small bumps on them. No bugs. From what I find it is plant edema from a change in temperature and it is common in this type of plant. I wondered if you have ever heard of this and what are your thoughts on it.❤️✌🏻🍃🌱🌿
My cissus was doing SO WELL and just recently started to decline. My leaves are slowly losing their color (more yellow) and sometimes dry up. I do give it a humidity bath with my humidifier each day. I just repotted it as I was worried the soil mixture was retaining too much water. Other than that, any suggestions as to why this may be happening? It is my favorite plant!
It could just be in shock from repotting. Also might not be getting enough light. Hard to say, it’s all different base on your environment what you recently did, what kind of potting mix etc. Just diagnose base on what changed and monitor the plant and adjust from there.
It is really fragile... right after one day I brought this to my home, the leaves down there started being kinda wet and thinner than the leaves on the top part... and eventually, I lost lots of leaves!!!
Hmm you know I was researching and couldn’t find much info on it. It seems to be more on the newer or younger leaves and as they grow baggers it disappears..my guess is the watering, or the irregular watering schedule or lack of humidity. 🤷🏻♂️
Hi Christian. Another great video!👍🏻 I have a question - i got my cissus from 21 seven market too, but the soil medium is really dense and retains a lot of water. Im torn with how to handle this. Do I uproot the plant and risk shocking it (but diminish my chances of rot)? Or keep it how it is? I know this plant likes to be somewhat moist so Im not quite as worried as I normally might be.. but I am really concerned about it getting rot. Is yours in the same soil as when you purchased? Would really appreciate your feedback! Thanks! 🤙🏼
Hey. Yes I still have mine in the same potting mix as when I purchased it. I found that it is a bit dense but I also make sure I only water when the pot is feels light and that too inch soil is starting to dry, so it’s just at the verge where the plant is almost completely dry. Also making sure that water drains through. You can also loosen the top soil with a chopstick to help create aeration.
My Cissus Discolour is rapidly defoliating! This is my first winter with one! Everything is getting crunchy and falling! Roots are still intact though - any tips? Should I keep it in super high humidity for the winter? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Love from Ottawa :)
