    Nice one. I was out about 50-75 metres off of Scarborough beach on the yak last weekend. Got a 70cm grunter that I thought for sure was a snapper. Got him in and was like wtf. Best fight I've had for so very long. The lads around me pulled in some small tuna and big tailor too. Was prob the best day fishing lately up there.

    Great stuff mate, grunter are one of those fish that you don’t see targeted or talked about down this way very often. So it was cool to see you getting a few and you’ve inspired me to go chase some of those line burners one day 😂🙌 definitely keen to taste them too and see what all the hype is about!!

    • @BrisVegasFishing
      @BrisVegasFishing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh man I’m addicted myself. Definitely worth targeting, I just wish they weren’t so seasonal 😅 tasted great too. Been many years since I’ve gotten a feed of them

    Back in the 70s and 80s when we used to do our annual trip to Brissy we used to go to the fishing sections of kmart and target and the like,and the tackle on offer was pathetic we never dreamed you could get giant Threadfin and Grunter in Brisbane,and I'm guessing most of the Brissy population thought the same.

      Amazing how the times change hey 😂 when I first moved down here there were whispers of threadys but never would’ve thought they’d be so plentiful.

      Thanks mate. It was an awesome back drop and I was surprised at how well it fished. Also surprised that I could find the fish so quickly 😅

    I had never heard of a barred grunter until about 7 years ago when I caught one where I lived at coochin Creek.

      I used to catch good size ones when I was a kid up in Cairns and down around Cardwell too. But it’s been years since I’ve caught a decent one down here. 😅 They’re so fun though hey.

    Morning Josh, another good video, i have caught grunter in the Bribie passage before but never went out to CATCH the SUPER SIZE models
    do they have a time of the year that you would prefer to chase them?, i did see a bloke catch one off the rocks at Pelican Park one morning
    he was in that 60cm, size very nice fish land based .
    OK buddy keep them coming. Cheers Chris.

      Definitely worked well for us through the start of autumn as all those prawns are coming out into the bay. The fish just know what’s going on and school up for that reason. Everything works around the bait cycles and the structure of the reefs just gives those predators a point to ambush them.

    I enjoyed that. Wonder why they don’t come down the southern bay in numbers?

    • @BrisVegasFishing
      @BrisVegasFishing  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think they do at times, but I can’t say I’ve ever seen any large models down southern bay. Furtherest down the bay I’ve seen them is mud island. 🤔
