- What happens when you use the same color palette BUT swipe using a different color? Well, today we put that question to the test in this experiment where we look at the different effects; BUT there is one question I have for you... and I can't wait for you to let me know what we should do to complete this piece.

▶ Technique: Swipe
▶ Canvas size: Two canvases measuring 8x10 inches
▶ Pouring Medium formula: My paints are mixed with Owatrol (Floetrol) with a ratio of paint to pouring medium of 1:3. I also add 1 part water into this to allow free-flow movement so its 1:1:3 Paint:Water:Pouring Medium.
Australian Floetrol mix is paint to pm - 1:4 (no water!).

Amsterdam: Brilliant Blue, Lamp Black, Titanium White
Pebeo: Iridescent silver
Pebeo: Phtalocyanine Blue
Liquitex: Ultramarine blue
▶ Hair dryer: Remington D3010 and always use the cool setting

This was an exciting experiment Mark! I love them as a pair. When I look closely you can see how they flow into each other. Perfect! Beautiful colours, cells and lacing effects. ❤ I would love to see a little silver glitter then varnished finish. Oooh, exciting. Have a great day my friend ❤

The silver glitter would be a nice choice for this pair. I'm torn between the white or black swipes they are both beautiful. Great color combination also. I like to see a white base with a black or blue swipe color. I would love to see all different swipe colors used. Nice video Mark. Thank you😊

These are both equally beautiful. It reminds me of a moody night sky going into a bright clear sky. They definitely are a set that goes together with one another. So many composition points one could change up❤

Mark... I painted a piece yesterday. Not at all what I was hoping for. Tried to "fix" it. Worse! Then, I thought to myself... Mark said not to give up. You can do it. Focus. I tried another pouring style, over the "mess". Voila!! BEAUTIFUL and probably my best piece so far. Thank you, for your encouragement.❤

Mark, I love the composition of the black swipe, but the colors on the white swipe! I think silver glitter would be best. Maybe you could use similar colors with a black swipe on a white background and a black swipe on a white background.

Gold glitter for sure! I can't wait to see your final results with these!! I think the gold glitter will complement it better than the silver but I see everybody else said silver so maybe you should do one silver and one and gold lol

Yes add the silver glitter! Glitter is always good! As for the swipe experiment.. thanks for doing this Mark! Side by side, while the decision was difficult, I do prefer the black swipe. I love that "ghost effect" on the black swipe! I want to see a swipe with black on the Pearl Paints.. in fact I will try that one. I always resin my paintings.. these would be boss resined! 🥰

Hello Mark ! I'm happy to your experimentation of swipe today. ❤ Very interesting and informative video. You explain things so well and do it gently, one step at a time. 👍I will admit that I had a hard time choosing between the two pieces, the colors, design and shape of the cells are very different.🤔 Finally, I opted for the white swipe. 😊
Concerning your question and the glitters, for my part I think that the canvases are very beautiful like this so I would only apply the varnish. 😉 But you are the artist and it is up to you to choose what you want in your paints. 🤗
I like when you dare to use humor in your videos. The more time goes on, the more I discover traits of your personality, and I really like that. 😉
I end by telling you that I paused your tutorial and even backed away when I heard you say that your paintings were for sale. I heard myself say "YES!!!! 👍 He dared to say this. Supeeer Mark!" 🤩

Thank you so much for this video! I almost never like a white cell activator but in this case I can't decide which one I like more! LOL Leave it to you to change my mind. The world can never have too much glitter. I think you should do the silver glitter on both.

This was a tough decision, but an excellent experiment. I am leaning towards the black swipe. I guess I like the negative space on that one. I also am leaning towards the silver glitter. I think that will brighten up that negative space, but still leave it -- if that makes any sense. Thank you for your detailed explanation. This was very interesting to watch. Both swipes are very beautiful and it's a great idea to keep them as a set. I am not sure if I would add the glitter, but if so, I would use the silver one. However, it would be great if you show us the varnished end result 🖒💖

They definitely belong as a "couple". The white swipe ranks a little up on the black, But, also re your glitter - Silver, and only on your negative black spaces??? Love your art.

Everything you do is awesome. Sometimes when I’m not to excited how mine turned out I will integrate a picture to it. For instance I did a white, black, red pour I didn’t like. So I ended up blacking out a bull. Or drawing a guitar in the pour part and blanking out the background. Does that make sense to you

Hey! I buy Australian Floetrol direct from Australia and have it shipped in from the Wholesale Paint Group. Owatrol do a version here in the UK called Aussie-Trol but I haven’t experimented enough with it to use that over Australian Floetrol.

The white swipe. I'm going to take that Smartartcourse for sure because I've watched enough videos but I can't get it right. One main problem is when I tilt my board (very heavy and can't spin) my colors run down in a wavy pattern. Is that too thick or too thin of paint? I looks great right out of the cup onto the board I just can't do anything after that but swipe. Then I swipe too much.

If I were to use the glitter paint, I would use it very sparingly just highlighting certain areas of the existing painting.

Bravo j'adore avec comme beaucoup à priori, une préférence pour le swipe blanc et c'est normal vu que les bleus sont foncés. Alors pourquoi pas tester un ajout d'argent sur le noir !! 😅 Vous avez de la chance d'avoir du foetrol australien. En France nous n'en trouvons pas et pour moi c'est encore plus compliqué car j'habite dans une ile ( la Corse)..😢 Même sur Amazon Europe on ne trouve pas. Je testerai avec d'autres produits 😅 Vous n'avez jamais essayé la technique d'oreller ??
