I used to do the exact same thing with CIV 4 back when I was in High School. I've always liked video game music, but I think it was somewhere between CIV 4 and Super Smash Bros Brawl that I really started getting into it.
I think Baba Yetu is more immediately lovable, but the more I listened to Sogno di Volare the more I started to prefer it and it eventually outgrew Baba Yetu for me.
Was actually singing this in my shower 30 minutes ago, and then I see this pop up on my feed what are the odds. To actually visualize the song and see how many layers it has, it makes me appreciate this beautiful song even more. 4 years, and it still hasn't lost its glory. Thank you Mr. Tin!
Today i've played this song for my wife. Suddenly she said she got her hair standing straight on the back of her neck.... A few hours later i've tried it again and at 1.37 in it it happened again... She even told me this never happened with any song before... This is the exact moment this song is making me emotional :) People who listen to conventional music always say that the true great composers have gone.... I tell to them, they went to produce music for movies and especially videogames like Civilization. The next artform in human history will be known as Games. Thank you Christopher... please continue :)
That explains why it sounds so rich. Almost all of the spectrum is full of notes. It is so wide and dense at the same time, a full-blown sound as it gets.
I would like you to dive into the music theory aspect of some of your works. Particularly I was skimming over your work in Baba Yetu, and the constant tonicization in it is marvelous. I would love to hear your individual thoughts and analysis on your pieces. Thank you for this amazing work!
This is a glorious masterpiece that shall be remembered forever. I really want my choir to sing this, though I don't know if it'll be too complicated for us :) Keep up the amazing work!
Even though your concert got pushed back to august, it's still completely full! I would be absolutely thrilled at the opportunity to hear this Live. I pray there ends up being openings or another concert.

Booked my parents for the May 30 premiere concert of *To Shiver The Sky* and they're super thrilled! I'd have loved to come but I live 8000+ miles away. (T_T) So I just asked them to buy me a CD and get it autographed. Haha Looking forward to listening to the entire album!! :)
Epic! I love this song and often play it on my MP3 player or computer. Add good headphones or speaker and you are in heaven. ;) Baba Yetu is my other favorite, also from Civ and from the same composer. I seriously hope he'll compose the music for Civ VII when it gets mate. :D
Awesome! This song is so great and a true masterpiece. I don't know who told you that your music tends to be "bombastic". More like epic, uplifting and motivating, thank you!
Less than year ago I started to read the faraway paladin novel series. In the end of the first novel there was writer´s after notes. Thanks to his recommendations I found these beautiful songs. I can´t read volume two without listening to this. I hope some of you will try to read it. It deserve way more love than it has received.
I would *LOVE* the opportunity to use this and Baba Yetu in a midi visualizer I am writing... This is by far my favorite video game music ever. You're definitely pulling the strings I used to think only John Williams or Howard Shore knew how to pull in me.
I would love to visit a Concert but you have to come to Germany first. I heard the Elbphilarmonie in Hamburg is a great Concert Hall that everyone should visit at least once :) And I am still a proud Owner of a signed Copy of Calling all Dawns.
One of my favorite video game pieces, Baba Yetu being #1 I'm not the only hoping Sid and Firaxis gets Christopher to compose the music for Civilization VII, right? Edit: I don't know of anyone who hearts comments as much as you Mr. Tin, I wish more people would do that.
Thank you for your music, this is brilliant! Could you please tell, why you didn't prefer to use changing time sugnatures? For me first vocal pharse for example was easier to perceive if it will be like 4, 2, 4, 6 beats per measure.
I love it and will do it in my music school with the choir! I am desperately searching for an instrumental version to use as karaoke. Can someone help? :)
Now since Christopher has made themes for the Religious and Science victories, when is he going to make one for Domination, and of course, E C O N O M I C?
@@christophertin It must've been amazing to hear your own work performed by an orchestra after hearing it in a DAW. I use East West until I have that opportunity! Thanks for your quick response!
I see that you read all comments and I would like to ask you: would it be fine if I arranged this for, let's say SSTAB + Piano + Violin or a Woodwind quintet for personal use?
Wow, is the entire song used in the game made in logic, or was it recorded with a live orchestra afterwards? Either way, I genuinely can't tell the difference.
Civ VII: Christopher Tin as Great Musician
If Geoff Knorr is also a Great Musician.
Virgil Karlsson yes please
Baba Yetu and Sogno di Volare
I've modden him, Micheal Curran, and Geoff Knorr as musicians into both V and VI
Iirc, great people can't be alive irl
Sometimes I will open Civ 6, sit in the main menu for 3 minutes and 41 seconds, and then close it fully satisfied with my experience.

i just bought this game, and i did exactly like that before and after playing
i thought only i did that 😱

Best thing about the game
A Masterpiece
What in the hell are you doing here? Lol.
A true mystery!
Truly!
This is the most random thing I have ever seen
I will never not like this track. Definitely my favorite piece. Some people may prefer Baba Yetu but for me this is your best piece so far.
I think Baba Yetu is more immediately lovable, but the more I listened to Sogno di Volare the more I started to prefer it and it eventually outgrew Baba Yetu for me.
chris is an amazing composer, an amazing human being, an amazing everything!

I was listening to the other Sogno di Volare video.
Suddenly this shows up. I love this.

no way is Civ6 4 years old... jesus!
Civ 5 is going to be 10 years old in September this year, too.
It looks still new because it didn't had many DLCs
Once you haven taken flight...
bruh and im still here playing Civ5 lmao

Great as always. No doubt, it's a masterpiece. It's good to hear from you Tin. Thanks for sharing it with us. Greatly appreciated.

Absolutely phenomenal. No questions asked.
Christopher, absolutely amazing! You've been a HUGE inspiration in my music, and I commend you highly for this.

What a masterpiece! I can't wait for the day I get an opportunity to watch you perform in the UK
This song gave me hope amid this pandemic.

Wow this is brilliant
Whether it be Baba Yetu or Sogno Di Volare. You can't deny the mind they came from is one of the modern greats in my opinion
I love this!! Wanna use logic as a compositional aid now, lol
beautiful :)

You should really extend this masterpiece to a whole Orchestra.

Coincidence that this is released just as a new dlc looms on the horizon?
I think NOT!
Why do I play this with stellaris? Now I could not stop send out scientific vessals.
This song is like my breakfast for every morning.
MIDI video posted by Christopher Tin himself just yesterday?
Uh, what?
Is there a link where i can just get the instrumental? Or a link where to purchase it? The orchestral instrumental

Wow, what a faithful recreation of midi of famous CIV6 song. Where did you get the files?
Wait......

I have a whole score dedicated to Economic... Offworld Trading Company!
This is phenomenal that you’re sharing something like this! Is the official track midi, live orchestra, or a hybrid of both? I love your work!
The official track is live with a few samples for sweetening (mostly perc).
@@christophertin It must've been amazing to hear your own work performed by an orchestra after hearing it in a DAW. I use East West until I have that opportunity! Thanks for your quick response!
Just awesome. Thank you.
I have 600 hours on Civ6, all of them are in the main menu
First classical track i bought.
When Civilization VII is released, you better either compose the music for that game, or be a great person...
I see that you read all comments and I would like to ask you: would it be fine if I arranged this for, let's say SSTAB + Piano + Violin or a Woodwind quintet for personal use?
You’ll have to talk to Boosey and Hawkes about that!
Dude, you should do a collaboration with Greg Edmonson!!!
I love Greg! He's a buddy!

I prefer ordered civ VII man was it expensive
I actually don't like this

Could you please tell me what vst's you used in this version? 🙏🏻
This is a live orchestra actually!
Do you know Italian? If not, how on earth did you manage to compose the lyrics that sounds so good with the music?
I have Italian friends who help me!
Wow, is the entire song used in the game made in logic, or was it recorded with a live orchestra afterwards? Either way, I genuinely can't tell the difference.
No, it was recorded live with a real orchestra and choir.
Wow! I thought it was played by real instruments.
It is! This is just a MIDI representation.
