I'm leaving for YWAM Kona in a month for the 2023 Fall F&F DTS. This video was so helpful and encouraging to me. There aren't a lot of super informative videos out there, specifically YWAM Kona, and you answered so many of my questions. So thank you thank you for taking ur time to make this video! :)
I’d suggest googling, spiritual abuse in ywam, ywam is a cult, or ywam is unbiblical before you let her do it. To many young people get hurt and confused by doing ywam.
Kaytlin, you are a super-fan of YWAM. Nice to hear you had a good experience, very encouraging. I was in Kona too, and miss it alot. I left Kona and ended up in Finland, doing evangelism everyday. I hope some DTS students are called to full-time..
It helped me but broke me as well it saved my life physically but some of my leaders were not good the second school wasn't correct for me it wasn't good later they were removed from YWAM base and anulled I am not a Christian now I am I tried going to Zion it helped a bit but I am now very lost but not as lost before I went to Zion I kind of given up dissolusioned did my dts 39 years ago
This video is so helpful to me, thank you for sharing your whole experience and tips! I’m honestly a little scared to go fundraise, since I don’t have a lot of christians around me.. So I don’t know how I even could manage to fundraise…
quick question based on your knowledge and experience on luggages and packing, I’m planning to bring one medium-big sized luggage and a backpack. is it possible we will have to ditch the luggage for outreach depending on where we are going?
Packing is always stressful especially when you’re gonna be gone for such a long time! I took a big suitcase and ultimately had to leave a lot of things in a storage unit that I split with friends in Kona. I do not recommend doing that. I would recommend a medium to small suitcase and pack bare minimum. There is a lot of items you can get at the free boutique on campus and you don’t know where you’re going for outreach, so don’t focus on packing for that only pack for Kona. Only pack essentials! 💗
Here’s a better suggestion, don’t do ywam before you do ALL the research you can. Please Google, spiritual abuse in ywam, ywam is a cult, or is ywam unbiblical. Also if you don’t listen to me, at least do this! Know your Bible really well before doing it so you can discern for yourself if what someone is teaching you or trying to make you do isn’t correct. And do not let leadership manipulate you into thinking they know Gods voice better than you.

debating between one bigger luggage or a smaller carry on, gahhh LOL
