Evidently it wasn't, it got cancelled BECAUSE it was highly rated. It had been predicted by the Mattel marketing team that it would end up overshadowing the very Hot Wheels brand. This series literally got banned for being too good at the game O_O

It's heartwarming how many Spanish comments there are on this video. It's nice how a little casual multiculturalism in a kids' show can bring people together like this. I always loved how this show just ALLOWED characters to be from different cultures and didn't mention it unless it was relevant (like with Kadim). That's how representation should be.
The comments are most likely because the movies were pretty popular in some hispanic countries, I don't think most kids realized that a character had that background xD

I know man, i recently rewatched the series in english (im form argentina) and i nearly cried when i heard the intro of the movies, it was just too good. Such a shame they cancelled it for a very stupid reason

They actually announced a Hot Wheels Live Action movie back in April of this year. The movie is being directed by J.J. Abrams and in the works at Mattel Films and Warner Bros. Pictures. There hasn't been much news on it other than that. I just hope that they give it a serious / mature tone with some fun humor moments here and there - just like Acceleracers was.
