No More Ply prior to tiling a Kitchen - Part 2 - Laying the boards

  • This is my DIY project to lay tiles in my kitchen. I am using a tile backer board called "No More Ply" which is a cement based board. A 6mm board apparently has the same equivalent thickness as a 12mm sheet of Plywood, which means you can get the same strength as you can with Ply with more ease and less height than you would with laying ply.

    If you ping a chalk line down the centre of the room, that will help you get the first row of boards lined up, as rooms are never square.

    When screwing down was the screws flush with the cement board mine are sticking out so not flush
