I have had bypass surgery five years ago and got three stents after a year and had five blockages on the stent cleared by ballooning now it’s been a month I am scared of getting it blocked again Please reply
Dr Peter, what keeps our heart going when Doctors are doing an ablation procedure in a partially occluded artery or a stent. I figure the procedure will completely momentarily stop the blood flow in that vessel, does this not bring on a heart attack? Thank you for your interesting and informative videos.
Great question! When inserting stents and balloons, we occlude the artery for a few seconds. Within this time frame, there is no significant impact on the blood flow to the heart muscle.
In many cases, a CTCA can be a very useful test to assess the arteries. The CTCA does get somewhat tricky to analyse in cases of previous stents as the metal reflections can cast shadows that may obscure the view inside the stent.
I got a giant hematoma after my first horrible procedure. I'm so scared of having blockages in my stents I have 8 I'm 55 needing a pacemaker someday because my heart is weak on the squeezing the hearts blood where it needs to go
All my arteries blocked. I did have 4 stents 5 years ago but now the only option is Heart by pass. I didn’t have a bad diet. Not taking sugar or carbs. It’s genetic which sucks 😳
i think if you had not any of that shit called stent you would have been fine. i have freinds with multiple blocked vessels living for 10 to 20 years just fine without any problem.
Thank you for this information and also the previous videos.

Thank you. No stent, however is a CCTA an effective way to test arteries without having to have an angiogram since angiograms are invasive?
Excellent question!
