I do the exact same thing you do. I have no idea why people don’t think of this. It took me 1 time to figure this out. Glad you made a video on this for people to see how simple it really is.
Wes Hendrick I’m an irrigation technician and I play with ton of o-rings. When I got this tool I figured out in seconds. I use a slightly different method.
I've found it easier to put the oring in the cap then push the cap down and then thread it on. No issues this way and seems very quick. Works for me atleast
