    Your tutorials are amazingly helpful! Thanks for posting. I have a question, is the glossary interaction publishable in html 5? I am having issues getting mine to work in HTML.

      I try to avoid using learning interactions in my learning. I always prefer to make my own. I do something like this th-cam.com/video/5ZMXQnQcU44/w-d-xo.html but today I would probably use a multi-state object instead of all those individual objects, but my process is always changing.

    Your tutorials are so helpful! And I love how you don't waste time with chit chat and get right down to the specific task.

    Hi Paul, love the tutorials! Question regarding Interactions: How do I force my learner to click on each item, say in a timeline, and make sure they listen to the audio for each button, before I allow them to move forward in the presntation?

    Hi Paul. Thank you for your videos, amazingly helpful! Is there any chance to create an obligation to read all the buttons, before you can click on the next button? If I insert the NEXT button it can be clicked without opening all the buttons... is there any way to avoid this?

      It's responsive design but that isn't a requirement.

    Hi, thank you for your amazing guides, I am a total beginner and I wonder if it is possible to have a pen tool as a part of Adobe Captivate project / course? So that I or another user could have it while learning through the course in order to circle or draw. Thank you in advance, best regards, Ivy

      Maybe try this Ivy: th-cam.com/video/ztGCC7FPymk/w-d-xo.html
      It's not exactly what you are looking for but might achieve the same goal for your learners.

    Hi Paul, is it possible to customize the stock interactions further? For example, adding sound, moving elements within the interaction into a separate fluid box, etc. Also, do you know of any resources to learn how to create your own interactions, primarily in the style of games like Memory and Jeopardy?

    • @CaptivateTeacher
      @CaptivateTeacher  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When I get to the point where the learning interactions don't cut it for me I start to think about ways to create my own learning interactions. I just got back from the Adobe eLearning Conference where I did a session teaching out to build some neat interactions in fluid box responsive design. It wasn't anything as sophisticated as games but certainly addressed the needs of my learners of the sample courses. To make it more challenging for me but easier for my participants I did it all with just regular actions without any conditional or advanced actions. You get pretty creative with achieving your learning goals if you know the tool well enough and have the time to think of clever but simple ways to use it.

    Hi Paul, how would I force learners to click on each item in the interaction before moving to the next slide?

    • @CaptivateTeacher
      @CaptivateTeacher  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This would require advanced actions like the ones I teach in my premium courses. The Learning Interactions are very limited as to what you can do. Look for the videos exclusive to members like yourself.

    Hi Paul, I love how you customize the widget. Is it possible to write an advanced action so the Next button is hidden until the user sees all three options in the widget'?

    • @CaptivateTeacher
      @CaptivateTeacher  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I needed that level of control I would create my own custom interaction. For example, take a look at the solution in this video: th-cam.com/video/BZhASnzcNCQ/w-d-xo.html

    Hi Paul,
    I'm wondering if you have ever created a maze interaction. For example, a learner starts the maze and as they answer questions correctly, the move forward on the correct patch, possibly collecting tokens or items along the way. If they answer a question incorrectly, their game piece will go the wrong direction and they will have to go back and either answer the same question correctly or a new, related question correctly to get back to the right path. I'm thinking about creating something like this and was curious if you had ever done something similar! Thanks!

    • @CaptivateTeacher
      @CaptivateTeacher  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can do a choose your own adventure game. It's a little on the complex side and I wouldn't make a video about this.

      Thanks! Is this something that you would be able to work with me on if I purchased consulting time from you? If so, how many hours would you suggest?@@CaptivateTeacher

    • @CaptivateTeacher
      @CaptivateTeacher  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DoubleD1013 Typically, I sell hours through my website where I can teach you any of the skills you would need in Adobe Captivate. One of the advantages of the way I train is that you get one-on-one training, so the training is just for you and addresses your specific needs. The problem with your request is two things. First, the skills needed to build such an interaction are vast and many. I don't know if you are an advanced Captivate user or just getting started. You may be biting off more than you can chew. Second, teaching to a specific goal like this is problematic. It's a little like asking General Motors to show you how to build a car. They could do it, but it would probably cost three to four times as much as it would cost to simply have them make the automobile for you. This is a rough guess, but I would likely charge a client in the five-figure range for such an interaction. If I had to explain all the steps to build such an interaction it would be much more.

    Hi Paul, I am facing issue while using learning interactions (Accordion to be exact). It seems fine in preview mode. But when I publish the project and open it, the page keeps on loading for a few seconds and displays a blank page (Issue is specifically in Chrome browser). I tried to launch the project through Scrom Cloud and it worked fine there but the issue is that it takes time to load that particular page. My project is responsive and I am using a fluid box in it.

    • @CaptivateTeacher
      @CaptivateTeacher  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@easytocookwithdeepak It has to reside somewhere other than on your computer. The purpose of Adobe Captivate is to create eLearning that would be uploaded to a training site or a web server. If you send someone a link that link needs to take them to where the content resides. Presumably, that would be a web address.

    What about timing? I put in a widget and a "next" button to allow the learner the opportunity to read each button's content but the slide changed even before I could check the contents of the first button.

    • @CaptivateTeacher
      @CaptivateTeacher  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Adobe Captivate's nature is to continue playing the slide to the point where it transitions to the next slide. You will need to add an interactive object like the next button but make sure it pauses the slide until your learner is finished with the slide.

    Hi Paul, I saw that all learning interaction always shows on the top of every object on the screen after publish. So my question is how to bring this intention under another object e.g. graphic?

    • @CaptivateTeacher
      @CaptivateTeacher  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a bunch of object types in Adobe Captivate that have to be the topmost layer in your eLearning project. These are HTML5 animations, web objects, videos and learning interactions. However, there is a workaround. Use the following steps to get around this, but you should know that if your eLearning course contains web objects that are located on unsecured (http) pages and your LMS is on a secured web server (https), you may not be allowed to launch those unsecured items.
      1. Close Adobe Captivate.
      2. In your Captivate installation folder, open the AdobeCaptivate.ini file.
      3. Edit the file to change UseWidget7 to have a value of 1 instead of 0.
      4. Save this file to your desktop.
      5. Drag and drop it into your Captivate installation folder, replacing the original that's there. You may have to grant permission to perform this step.
      6. Relaunch Adobe Captivate.

      @@CaptivateTeacher Paul, does doing this disable the learning interactions when published? I was able to get the learning interaction under other objects (dark shaded shape, imported picture) but when I preview the project in HTML browser the interaction did not work. I also published it and tried running it on Scorm.com and it does not work. Any thoughts?

    Can you assign actions the them?

    • @CaptivateTeacher
      @CaptivateTeacher  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are fewer and fewer learning interactions with each release of Captivate. Presently there are some that can pull or store data from variables but that's about it. None of them trigger advanced actions.

    I don't know if it is the same between interactions, but... Is there any way you can delete the text from the tabs interaction and leave only an image? I've been searching but it appears that I'm the only one with that problem. I tried to delete the text but when I close the interactions menu the default text still appears on the tabs interaction. Can you help me please?

    • @CaptivateTeacher
      @CaptivateTeacher  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lack of customized options for learning interactions is why I seldom use them. Generally, I create my own interactions so I can make them look and behave how I want.
