    Thanks again for the info. It's nice to know that we, as investors, have so many options to choose from. Still, I prefer covered calls ETFs like HYLD, HMAX & HDIV mixed with a few split share funds like RS, ENS & BK. To each his/her own.

      Good stocks for income but it's off topic. These are not designed for growth. Decent yield though.

    My top U.S. Dividend ETF’s which I own in my RRSP are as follows- SCHD Schwab Dividend equity ETF next is DGRO IShares core dividend growth ETF and my third holding is SPYD which is SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 high dividend ETF. Thank you Adrian for something a little different.

    Hey
    Just trying to understand the 15 precent witholding tax still
    VFV how much would that effect your annual return with that 15 precent? And how do you factor that calculation in. And also do you get taxed heavier when withdrawing these kind of etf with us in them?
    Thanks for you content very helpful

    • @PassiveIncomeInvesting
      @PassiveIncomeInvesting  ปีที่แล้ว

      VFV = Canadian Listed = the 15% tax is managed by Vanguard. the total returns are NET of taxes and expenses

    Thx Adri. I had forgotten about VGG because of its 1.33% yield, but I found out that it is the same as the popular US listed VIG. It grows the dividend over 10% per year. So the 1.33% will become 2.66% in 7 years and to 5.32% in 14 years. I prefer SCHD but I don't want to go over 100k in non registered US listed assets. Why couldn't I learn about this 25 years ago when I was 25 lol.

    Thanks for the VGG, I had not found this one and total returns are good! This is the type of ETF I buy when I receive the dividends from the high yield stocks like BK, FTN, HTAE, etc

    This is a great video! I love it. I noticed some comments in your other videos are contrarian to your picks. I noticed your replies can be harsh. I feel some comments are actually quite high quality and we need people like that in the community to go against what you have to say sometimes to keep the investments honest. This not only removes us from bias, it could also save us from making investment decisions and help us reallocate. I really think the devils advocate is useful to help us from blind spots. Obviously some comments are trolls and those are straight out rude! But good feedback will help all of us coupled with polite responses.

    Hey Adrian, I'm just revisiting this video as I'm rebalancing my RRSP and I hold VIU, VEE, VFV, and VCE in it. I believe I will just be moving out of VIU & VEE and some of my VCE to move into VEQT, however the U.S allocation on VEQT for U.S is ~44% and also VEQT holds VCN over VCE - although they are essentially the same. TLDR: For pure equity growth I'm going to strictly hold VEQT along with VFV for a bit more U.S exposure and VCE for some extra Canadian exposure (i understand there is a bit of overlap but I am okay with that as I'd like my allocation to ballpark 50-60% U.S, 30% Canadian, ~15% Global all cap, and about 7% Emerging. Does that sound like a decent growth RRSP? I'm aware ill have to throw some fixed income in there which i will definitely do also!

    • @basseon
      @basseon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lots of people, even Adrian, will chose to overlap for something they want to increase their exposure to. I'm planning to do the same kind of idea but reverse. My core holdings will be the specific ETFs and and I'll add some XEQT for global exposure (and overlap of US and CAN large market cap).
      50%: S&P500 and 10%: Nasdaq100(HXQ for the lower MER) for US
      10%: S&P60 (HXT for the lower MER), 5%: HUTS and 5%: HCAL for Canada(this is a suggestion from one of Adrian's video that I really like).
      20% will be XEQT (just like VEQT it holds the total markets). I'll get a fifth of whatever XEQT allocates to emerging markets and dev. countries ex. N. Am.
      The final allocation looks like 68% US, 25% CAN, 5% Dev. Countries and 2% Emerging Markets.
      I'm not adding any fixed income or anything else in that RRSP for now (I have another RRSP that is fully Passive Income). I have 20 years until retirement and I'll evaluate when and how much I sell in 15 years or so.

    How much of a difference does it make on the yield if we have to convert from us to Canadian?

    • @James_48
      @James_48 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most, if not all of the ETFs Adrian used are Canadian based, so on a daily basis their price changes include the variations in foreign exchange. It doesn't affect the yield though, the amount they pay out is fairly steady, and like all equities the yield is based on the share price on a given day.

    How much (maximum /minimum) should we expect as a total return if we build a portfolio using a combination of these TOP Growth and Dividend ETFs?

    • @James_48
      @James_48 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can explore the various returns of these ETFs using portfolio visualizer- you can create all kinds of combinations of these ETFs, covered call ETFs and even split funds. These ETFs have been around for much longer so you'll get a better historical perspective for them, but you can build three simultaneous portfolios of up to 10 holdings each in a combination you like. It's a great tool to help you understand total growth, income, and also income indexed to inflation, depending on the options you choose when you run it.
