Great vid lads. Everyone needs to own a kegerator. I've built several, and have 2 running, 1 at home and 2nd at my holiday home... I can afford a holiday home because I build my own kegerators and brew my own beers! 99% of coils are not in the rear panel of the fridge. Fridges used to have their heat exchangers external read of the fridge on the black grid mesh. With fridge manufacturers making things cheaper these days, the heat exchanging coils are run thru the rear and side panels of the fridge. This is to make thinner insulation panels and by slightly heating the side panels, stops water condensation on the side of the fridge. Not a good looks, particularly for the metal, finished fridge. If you've never hit a coil going thru the side of the fridge, it's because you've been very lucky. Maybe go buy a lotto ticket?! With most fridges, on a hot day, turn the fridge on and let it cool down. You can then gently and slowly run your hand down the side of the fridge to feel for very slight temperature differences on the side panels. The warmer areas will tell you where a heat exchange pipe is inside the insulated panel. You need to aim for the slightly cooler areas between the warm zones!!! This is where you should consider putting a penetration thru the side panel of the fridge. NEVER drill from the outside of side panel. You should drill from the inside out at the area where the cooler side panel zone is. The plastic inner lining of the fridge is WAY softer than the external metal skin. Gently drill from the inside and just take the plastic liner off so you can push the drill bit into the insulation BY HAND. This way if you do strike a heat exchange pipe, you'll not rip it to shreds with the drill. If you haven't hit a heat exchange pipe, drill all the way thru. If you use a drill bit 1mm larger diameter than the OD of the CO2 line, no need for gap filler either. You can be confident drilling holes thru the front doors of the fridge. They don't have heat exchange pipes.
as you build your keezer...I just wanted to point out....this vid made me a fan....this is the vid that made it all work for me.......be safe braj!!!!!!
This video is so awesome I watched it twice. I got my fridge and just about everything I need to make this dream reality! I have to up my CO2 game though. 5 pounder just doesn't cut it.
Great Vid, good straight forward info, subscribed! I tried this on a Magic Chef 10.1 cu ft, was going good until the side hole, found a cooling line, Fridge died today.
@@HOMEBREW4LIFE awesome thanks! I've been using 8 feet per line with a fan circulating air up to the tower and each beer still came out foamy so I figured it would need to be longer but wasn't sure. Cheers!
Awesome video Braj!! I love the content you put out!!! Question, how long should the beer line be? I have a 10ft hard eva plastic line on the kegerator right now but I'm getting no head from my beer or my wife......joshin about the wife 🤣. Could the length cause this issue?
Stainless steel fridges are awesome. Its a price thing tho. Dont buy a new ss fridge to do this on. If you score on for cheap on craigslist than go for it. (Dont drop more than $100 on any fridge btw
I was gonna spend the money and buy one, but this is definitely the route Im gonna go. Good video...thanks. On a slightly unrelated note …. my babe magnet is almost as nice as yours. Have to keep a stick behind the seat to beat them off at times.
Great videos. When you guys making more? About to make the move to all grain and we will be trying some of your recipes. The Mega Man 2 music is appreciated as well.
Hey man, I just built my kegerator from your model. Did it for about $350. Have you ever put anything on a nitro line? I homebrew up in Oregon and you seem to have a lot of good advice. Just looking for other ideas. Thanks
Followed this tutorial. Getting all foam on my amber ale tap. I'm at 10-12psi and there appear to be bubbles in the beer line after it sits for a few minutes... My other tap pours great and doesn't get the air bubbles in the line. Has anyone experienced this issue and know how to troubleshoot? Maybe a leaky faucet/tap?
Solved! Contacted the tap distributer and I cranked down the treaded collar below the handle too tight. For some reason this prevents the tap from closing all the way which was letting air back in.
Know of any tubing for dispensing that doesn’t smell like ass plastic? It’s making the beer that sits in my lines disgusting and I hate having to pitch the first couple ounces
I'm guessing from the baking soda, the previous owner probably dabbled in corpse storage. This was a hilariously informative video. I've been looking at doing this for a bit, but always felt a bit intimidated. Going to fucking do it now though.
Good. Just did an experimental 2 gallon batch I'm fermenting in a old Mr. Beer keg video should be up in a few days. Added tasting and hop gardening to my video repertoire.
Finally. A straightforward, no-bull-sh*! video that details what to buy and what to do. You guys are awesome. Cheers.
Thanks for watching Jon! Cheers

And go with 10 ft beer line for the perfect pour!
I think I got 7 foot.. Is that good enough? Finding a good but cheap fridge in Jersey is the hardest part.. We have delusional Craigs Listers
No clue but give lemme know
The student shouldn’t question the teacher; ordering 10ft

Dang that sucks man
How long would you recommend the beer lines be for something like an American pale ale?
it doesn't matter on the style, and 10ft will give you the perfect pour. Cheers blake!

Not much lately, I need to get back after it. Gotta get some yeast and then I'm good to go!
