*International laws* are very clear on the South China Sea:
    - parts of it belong to some ASEAN countries including the Philippines 🇵🇭 and Vietnam 🇻🇳,
    - the rest of it is the international water,
    - no part of it belongs to China🇨🇳 or Taiwan🇹🇼.

...um...actually Taiwan does claim some of the South China Sea....but I am sure the Taiwanese government is more than willing to have dialogs with neighboring countries about it rather than what the cpp is doing...

In addition to the international law, a natural law also shows the SCS belongs to countries bordering on the sea. The natural law is the phenomenon "bordering". If you border on the sea, part of the sea belongs to you. For instance, China borders on the Pacific Ocean, part of the Ocean belongs to China; the Philippines borders on the SCS, part of the SCS belongs to the Philippines.

If countries will just sit tight and stay in their own yards, then no alliances will be needed. If you threaten your smaller neighbors, then you push them to get into alliances to protect their sovereignty.

Vietnamese 🇻🇳 and Chinese cultures are very close.
    - Even the Forbidden City, a symbol of Chinese civilization in Beijing, was designed by a kidnapped Vietnamese and built by forced laborers from Vietnam.

    • @whitegoat1089
      @whitegoat1089 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

So why then that China always picks on countries with similar cultures. Out of 3 countries around China, Vietnam is the closest in culture and yet you treat Vietnamese with a mindset of slave owners to slaves. Take for example: Cambodia. Whenever the topic involving Vietnam and Cambodia comes up, Chinese always take the side of Cambodia. That just sends a message to the world to not embrace Chinese culture, or risks become slaves.

If Vietnam still relies on China, and deemed it much more important than the Philippines, it looks like the Philippines is really needed to somehow reduced it’s Critical Trade on Vietnam, knowing that it will prioritize it’s relations on China than the Philippines, these is also to prevent another China 2.0 over reliance on Key Trade imports, particularly Rice Trade from Vietnam, which is the current Largest Source of Rice Imports.

if we don't balance, china will definitely wage war on us, and with the few resources we have now, we CAN'T win. plus, as mentioned in this video, we still depend a lot on china in terms of economy (china is a huge trading partner for us), whereas to china, we're just a small trading partner. THEY have the upper hand, so we need to play nice if we want to stay safe, so to speak

The Philippine Sea has the longest passage on the SCS. Chinas ambition is control the International Sea Lanes passage and exit towards the Pacific Ocean. The Philippines is a free country, respecting the International laws and safe for the international shippers with income of 3.5T USD$/ year passage, then exit closer to Taiwan towards the Pacific. Whoever controls the sea is the king. Check all countries or continent where they control the sea passage.

One speaker is WRONG. If an act of war is committed by a coast guard vessel, it is still an act of war.
An act of war is NOT limited to official military assets.
IF an aggressive act is committed against another country's ship on the high seas (which the SCS is)
it is piracy if done by a private ship, or an act-of-war if owned by another country.
Philippines CHOOSES to downplay China's acts of war (which the water cannon attacks are)
    for diplomatic reasons.
    PH is trying to de-escalate.
HOWEVER -- PH is building is strength through military purchases, training, and expanding its US alliance.
At some point, China will go too far, and PH will respond in kind ---
shooting at a Chinese vessel or aircraft.
PH has already said that if the death of a Filipino will cause a military response.
    However, China is deaf.
