The truth is, having a President, military power, legislators and government, it is already INDIPENDENT TAIWAN. only CHINA cannot accept the fact.💯 TAIWAN ❤ .
One important criteria for a sovereign State is recognition. If Philippines views Taiwan as an independent country, it must break off diplomatic relation with Peoples Republic of China to Republic of China which is Taiwan. If Philippines is truly committed to One China Policy, then it must not entertain thoughts of Taiwan being an Independent country. This historic fact is Chang Kai Sek lost the civil war to Mao Tze Tung and fled to Island of Formosa (Taiwan) to form an exile Government. Taiwan Constitution declares mainland China as its territory and Chang Kai Sek devoted his lifetime to recapture mainland China.
Taiwan is a sovereign nation, in fact and in reality. It has its own legislative body, military power, and an independent foreign policy. With these functioning institutions in Taiwan and a prosperous economy. It truly deserves the title of an independent democratic country. Mabuhay Taiwan & Philippine ties!

What China failed to realize is while the Philippines is a pushover to them in military strength, China is not a match against the Philippines when it comes to a diplomatic battle.
Chinese bots are always saying about military power and that they can do anything on the SCS but if the war starts and all asian countries will attack combined with the US, UK, Australia, and India military they will be scared and play the victim. Haha! 😂
A lot people don't know about this, including the Philippines. When US defeated Spain and took over as the colonial master of the Philippines in 1898, these two countries signed the Paris Treaty of 1898. In it, both countries acknowledged that the territories of Philippines lied EAST of east meridian 118. The island in dispute? It lies west of east Meridian 118! It is really that simple. Philippine did not grab these island until after the San Francisco Treaty of 1951, from a still-militarily-weak China. But for the policy of “anyone but China” by the world’s hegemony, there should have never had any dispute in the South China Sea. And it wouldn’t be complete if I don’t include the fact that the USA bought the Philippines from Spain for $20,000,000 USD, right at the time when Filipinos were fighting for independence against Spain… obviously Filipinos didn’t take this lightly. 😮
@@condorX2 Thanks for the details on history and your facts show that the details do get more and more difficult to understand when digging deeper and deeper. A little unclear, has US bought Philippines from Spain or have US militarily defeated Spain and just took the Philippines as reward? (in my understanding US did not act as colonial master like the Europeans did strongly) I would be very careful to take an US - Spain treaty as basis for the decision if a specific island does belong to Philippines or China. I would rather rely on distance to Philippines or China (the closest country does get positive judgement) or on language/nationality/origin of population if any and if not clear simply ask a Referendum decision by all people living on the island. Bringing up historical facts can cause a lot of harm, see Israel. As end-result do you think a 50%:50% decision is good (usually in conflicts both sides have some good reason and a compromise/some win for both sides I would usually consider to be the best solution) or would you rather target 100%:0% decision, creating 1 party to be the winner, the other party to be the loser?

Beijing and Taiwan claims same South China Sea, Diaoyu island, Southern Tibet, well why should China give in to enemies?
Notice nobody's standing behind the Philippines; not even Vietnam. The other ASEAN countries are not as simple minded to be manipulated as the Ukraine of Asia.
Taiwan independence..go for it..fighting!!!😊❤🇵🇭
Salute to the two gentlemen
CHINA NEVER AGAIN IN THE PHILIPPINES WELCOME AMERICA IN THE PHILIPPINES 🇺🇲♥️🇵🇭 CHINA NEVER NEVER AGAIN 🇨🇳😡😡😡
Very interesting discussion, the Philippine representatives were wise and has intelegently answered the questions raised by the moderator.

Awesome discussion. More power to all of you for sharing your insights!
Enjoyed a lot of Taiwan Talks episodes, and lately was worried why Yin Khvat are not hosting these talks. Now I know the reason, she's in business trip to Philippines. Welcome Yin, and Taiwan Talks to Philippines. :)

I have seen how they treat cambodians, khmer people think China will help them to develop their country, but China is only seeking to build military base to help for Taïwan invasion and they are sneakily invading their country. Yes they are liars.
Stay strong Taïwan 👍 from France 👋

What China failed to realize is while the Philippines is a pushover to them in military strength, China is not a match against the Philippines when it comes to a diplomatic battle.
Ah, OK. If you so. Okot dokot.
Nah... Phillippine is not a pushover, nor are China and the Philippines on par in every respect. You got both wrong, mate.
hahaha, what diplomatic battle? win military battle,
@@lvjinbin28you say that because China does not know anything about diplomacy. Zero. Literally ZERO.
Chinese bots are always saying about military power and that they can do anything on the SCS but if the war starts and all asian countries will attack combined with the US, UK, Australia, and India military they will be scared and play the victim. Haha! 😂
My late dad’s Taiwanese, while mom’s Filipino (Batangueña-Illongga). I’m so blessed 🇹🇼🇵🇭🙏🏼💗🥰
The Chinese general wasn't speaking from his heart. He was speaking from what he was dictated to say so.
Chinese general doesn't obey Chinese leader?
Republic of Taiwan ❤ for Taiwanese ❤
Philippines supports Taiwan's Sovereignity, No to Communism !
With what?
(in my understanding US did not act as colonial master like the Europeans did strongly)
I would be very careful to take an US - Spain treaty as basis for the decision if a specific island does belong to Philippines or China.
Welcome to the Philippines 😊
Wow, such eloquent question and answer session. So easy to listen too when things are articulated with sophistication. It really cleared a lot of things that was hard to communicate and understand with this challenging subject. Need more of this .. Interview was too short for me 😊

I salute Richard for his thoughts about the current Philippine president. I know He is not a pro-marcos during the elections but he showed that he can think critically.
Mabuhay ang PILIPINAS mabuhay ang Taiwan
THERE IS AN INVISIBLE STRINGS BETWEEN FILIPINO AND TAIWANESE RELATION. WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SPEAK IT FREELY, BUT WE ARE ON YOUR SIDE.COZ THE OPPRESSED SHOULD STAND SIDE BY SIDE, LETS STAND FOR BOTH INDEPEDENCE OF TAIWAN AND THE PH.
does it help that The Taiwanese Constitution is almost a copy paste of pre-1987 PHI Constitution?
