I think it’s a good movie, but not a masterpiece, but that’s just my opinion. I think a love story should have some type of physical interaction, a kiss, touch of hands, a hug; something. It doesn’t have to be sex, but show me some longing. He had longing in his eyes, but she was cold to him; show the man some kind of affection instead of deer in the headlights kind of looks.
This was a beautiful film, and you have done it justice with this video. No text scrawled across the screen and ruining the visuals, and the choice of gentle piano music instead of some distracting singer is perfect. I enjoyed it so much. Thank you for your efforts which have resulted in such a perfect video.

Also, he risked his own life to help her get away with her friend after killing 2 German soldiers, as Nazis those days shot anyone who helped their enemy.This alone says that he really loved her.
When told of his death, she still, kept his memory as her momento. She hoped he had, just "disappeared"as she had. This denial of his ending his life ; that was so "precious", said it all, to me. The 'beloved' is undying to the lover...that is love's greatest reality, I know~

For me le silence de la mer is many times better,i this movie is only a remake of that movie,they added some things,he was a Prusian Oficer,after the German defeat of Stalingrad there was a Prusian general that called for the overtrow of the nazi régimen in Germany latter there was a plot to kill Hither and it was organizaed mostly by Prusian oficers,Claus von Staufenberg was the Prusian oficer who put the bomb in Hitler,s bunker,now in Germany they celebrate the date they made this and honor Staufenberg as a great hero.

I just finished watching@The Silence of the Sea,” but I much prefer “Suite Francaise.” I think Silence is more about two peoples’ attraction, but I can’t call that love because they never had a conversation. I find Suite to be more human and emotional. Here their feelings are shown in conversation and interactions. You feel their loneliness and you see their desire. Bruno loves her; he honors all of her requests. He is willing to risk his life and career for her. He , too, has no choice except to be a soldier in his country’s army. The night they planned to be together didn’t happen, but she had already decided that she wasn’t hiding her feelings anymore, but then events changed, and there was an understanding that it just wasn’t possible to be together. Even if she had not gone to Paris, his regiment was moving out, so all they had was memories of the little time they had together. Both movies are sad, but war always is for everybody, so we should stop having them.
He visto varias películas que cuentan una historia de amor, en el contexto de una guerra, si bien todas son preciosas, este film para mí, se lleva la medalla de honor. j'ai adoré Thomas Jouannet qui surclasse les autres acteurs du film "Le silence de la mer" , je n'aime pas le jeu de Julie Delarme ,elle parle mal et de façon saccadée( contrairement au roman) et je trouve Galabru ridicule! mais j'ai aussi adoré "Suite française" ! tous y jouent très juste , un plus pour le jeu de Matthias Schoenaerts qui est magnifique dans son interprétation de l'officier allemand ! il m'a "perturbé" ! les deux acteurs sont remarquables! quelle époque terrible : heureusement qu'on a enterré la hache de guerre!!! une pensée pour les deux écrivains , l'un résistant ayant publié en cachette les deux nouvelles en février 1942! et l'autre qui a été tuée à Auschwitz en 1942 ( son roman est posthume!).
