    I love Pseudomugils aka "Blue Eyes" and in particular the king of the Pseudomugils, the Honey Blue Eyes.
    An incredibly beautiful golden colour fish full of activity and grace, these fish truly deserve to be respected and protected.

    Excellent video. One of my fav videos from you to date, could sense the passion. I was lucky enough to get mine to breed last summer and hopefully grow my population even more this coming summer

    An absolute dream fish. I was lucky enough to get a few from Dans Fish (USA), so really, really appreciate your insights andreallyI hope I can keep mine going. I haven't even added mops yet (1-2 weeks here) and already have one fry swimming around! Too many plants right now to see what else is going on, but fingers crossed!

    Great video. I had no idea you had these as well. Aaron is breeding them too, but it’s slow going. We’ve lost 2 females so we are down to our last female (with 3 males) but he’s got about 10 fry and 15 eggs at the moment. So far they are spawning most days. Hopefully if we are both successful we can swap bloodlines one day.

      If the Aaron you’re talking about is Aaron Khor, I’m about to buy 4 honey blue eyes off him. I’m absolutely looking to breed, so could you give me the do’s and don’t’s from your experience with them perhaps?

    • @DIYMick
      @DIYMick 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@caelanharamis5660 That’s the one. Have a chat with Aaron when you pick them up. Don’t have any special tips other than we breed them the same as luminatus. 2 spawning mops, one sinking, one floating. Species/Breeding tank (although they do spawn in a community tank, but eggs get picked off). Don’t seem to care about special water parameters. If you checkout my channel, i have a video of our luminatus spawning

      Awesome! I’ll check out that video (I think I watched it before when I was looking at breeding my 2 luminatus), and definitely will be asking some questions when I grab them.

      What size tanks do you use for breeding & raising, and which foods do you use for fry?

    Hi Blake,can i keep them with 5cory catfish and 5mollys in a 240litre tank?love your videos.😊

    • @BlakesAquatics
      @BlakesAquatics  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I wouldnt keep them with mollies, the water parameters dont match up for the 2 species.

    Hi I am in the mid coast of NSW and really hoping to keep them in my frog pond. Costa from ABC suggested that I should have them in my outdoor pond. Little did I know they are impossible to find. I really need to get hold of some for my children’s generation and their education. They would be so important for our eco system. I hope you could direct me to some good places that would breed them. Thank you.

    • @BlakesAquatics
      @BlakesAquatics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Best place is to join ANGFA and ANGFA NSW groups on facebook and ask in there for a local breeder 👍
      Alternatively there are some now on allfish2u.com.au, a really reputable online fish seller

  • @mm89_
    @mm89_ ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It is almost impossible to get them here in europe. People have to breed them more. When they are extict in the wild they 're gone forever.

  • @laurahockey9909

    Probably a dumb question. Are honey blue eyes and pacific blue eyes the same or different? And what fish can you keep with them? CPD's? 😊

    • @BlakesAquatics

      Same family different species. Any small peaceful species. Cpds work well yep

    Have you gotten them to color up like the ones in the thumbnail?

    • @BlakesAquatics
      @BlakesAquatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They do during the morning and when they are spawning. Rainbows and pseudomugils vary in colour a lot across a day.

    Are these still illegal to buy/sell?

    • @BlakesAquatics
      @BlakesAquatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      internationally yes but you can buy within australia just very rare. Illegal to catch and sell I believe.
