    The whole Valley use to be one giant Marsh Land! all the rivers are dammed up & rivers in valley are controlled by levees... if these things were not inplace the whole valley would be flooded, yeah it would be a great habitate for fish/wild life but not for humans, you want to help wild life on earth??? STOP MULTIPLYING!!

    Salmon just pass through the sac up to their spawning grounds which used to be high up in the mountains. They spawn in tributaries down on the valley floor now because they can't get past the dams. This year there are so many salmon in places they haven't been in many years, at least in my area of the central valley. They don't have the water flows to keep the eggs alive or for the fry to survive.
    They can restore all the habitat they want but low flows of warm water will make all that restoration meaningless.

    • @fishtherapy247
      @fishtherapy247  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      💯 thanks for sharing. Yes, this year, there were salmon all over in creeks and streams they haven't been in years. That is the problem the egg can't survive the lethal water temps. They don't need to restore habitats. They need to restore water flow and temp! Habitat restoration is a big waste of money and time

    I hear your frustration and don't disagree with much of what you said but if you really think that the djt administration is going to have a better outcome than you can forget it. Trump has said he'll send all the water to the farmers.

    There were So Many Salmon in Oregon that spawned out the carcasses were all over the lower Rivers ,our rivers have Almonds

    • @fishtherapy247
      @fishtherapy247  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I know Oregon had an awesome year. Two completely different states, though that's why. We have enough water. Just too many crooked people have their hands in it and steal it at the most crucial time when salmon spawn. For huge almond orchards, we never see. We need to take more consideration for native species in our rivers. We need that cold, high flow water like we use to have

    Because of Stripped Bass, NMFS, and the Stripper lobby, Pre Lake Shasta there was only one run, the Winter Run !
    Renew Coleman Hatchery that promised millions of smolt ! Closed in 2008 to protect young Rock Fish !
    Tribal, use reeds, not nylon!

    • @fishtherapy247

      💯 Exactly leave the striper alone they are now neutral and are good for the river eco system. They have been here over 140 year and have Coe existed with salmon and other native fish. They should pay us fishermen to catch and kill pike minnow.

    I just recently saw on the news, ( KCRA ) that the 2023 and 2024 were record years for salmon. I'm a fisherman but I don't fish for salmon. I thought it was fantastic news. Now I don't know who to believe.

      It will take 3 years for the salmon population to come back. It's doesn't matter about the adult returns in if they can't spawn. We need our natural flood plains and to stop stealing our river/delta water in summer

  • @scotthammond9913
    @scotthammond9913 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    They don’t hold back cool water for when the salmon are spawning. Doesn’t matter how many restoration projects they do. When they dump warm water on spawning salmon they die..

    • @EstherAndTheStraightRazo-rq8sd
      @EstherAndTheStraightRazo-rq8sd 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @scotthammond9913; bingo bro. When it’s winter time and we’re flush with water we let it flow out to the ocean. When summer comes around they panic and slow the flows down, increasing water temps and killing off the fish. They haven’t built any new water storage since the 70’s. Meanwhile our population has grown 30 fold. Sites reservoir has been shut down numerous times. Govt is stupid. It’s all by design.

      There's invasive pike minnows in Berryessa but guess what? You can't fish for them and just chuck em in the grass because it's wasting fish. Yet they complain about the pike minnow affecting the fish in the area. Ridiculous

      Same can be said about wild pigs when hunting. The state requires hunters pay for a validation instead of making it free with the purchase of a state hunting license.

    Put no limit on stripped bass. Done. Maybe not done, but itll get better. Why are we protecting an invasive specie. Greedy tackle shops, no size and no bag limit.
