After sleeping on the back deck of tanks, 5 ton, hoods, and multiple tents and hammocks throughout my military career. I want comfort .

I’m a veteran: Royal Marines 40 Commando. Total of nearly 30 years, honorable discharge on a medical exemption (I was incapacitated for a period of longer than 12 months. I served (to name the ones that the sneaky beak’s wouldn’t tie themselves in knots about) Bosnia, Sierra Leone, Gulf Peninsular - Al Faw or ‘ow far as we called it. Congo, Sudan, Kuwait, Iraq and then over to South Asia in Afghan just a dirty old scrape North of the Khyber Pass, HADR based out of Northern Thailand into Myanmar. Ended up the wrong side of 40 and ended up marrying my nurse (a Thai lady) and got a little farm together on the edge of the jungle. 2020 saw me fall off the wagon for various reasons and returning to the U.K. for medical treatment. Thanks for your glimpse of the outdoors Larry, and don’t edit out the cooking, makes me hungry! God bless.

We are getting our truck Camper ready to head out in a couple of weeks. Just added top boxes to our flatbed for more storage, we are looking forward to a lot of boondocking, 1045watts of solar, 600ah of lithium, portable lithium power station, generator, DC to DC charger, I think our power needs are taken care of, just need some good places to go!!!! Older brother did three tours in Vietnam, younger brother did 11 years in submarines and dad was a merchant marines delivering arms and ammo in WW2, KOREA and Vietnam. My cousin was in WWII and made the ultimate sacrifice at 18 years old. He lied about his age to get in bcuz my aunt and uncle wouldn't allow it otherwise. He was 17 when he joined the Navy. He was a Seabee and died on the beach on IwoJima. Those vets were really brave. Most who joined knew the chances were high the wouldn't return. Wish I could've known him but I wasn't born until 1949.
My husband is a veteran (Air Force, Army and Reserves). He hates to say anything or brag…so I do. Thank you veterans for your service. We watch each week since “Kenny of all trades” shared your channel information. Love both channels. We have a truck camper and love watch theses videos to get ideas for meals and other stuff along with seeing your adventures. Sometimes it gets frustrating trying to get or even find a spot, but when you find a gem like this one, it’s All worth it. Thank you Larry!
I'm a veteran. Retied from the USAF in 2017. I don't care for recognition but it was nice to see this on your video. I just bought a 4 seasons trailer. Looking to move into it once I finish all the installs. Got 9.8kw of battery with 800 watts solar. I also put in 2 Chinese diesel heaters with a 100 gallon fuel tank. I want to just head to the hills to stay long periods of time. Sounds like you need a glowplug. They are easy to replace. When you buy Chinese, always buy 2 and spare plugs lol. You can clean it and it should work until you get a new plug

Army brat here! Most of the men and a good number of the women in my family were/are in one of the branches of service. My dad started in Vietnam and retired after Iraqis Freedom. Pork Chops are too dry and flavorless. Pork steaks are on our menu regularly now! Check your PO Box for a package for you and Mason!
@@worklessenjoylifemore I agree about your visitors, if I came upon someone camping I would never go thru their site. What are they thinking? Bacon cooking, yum. I usually cook it outside though. It is very messy but so good. Try baking it instead of frying it. It cooks more evenly and stays flat instead of curling. Your oven will be messy though. Question, doesn't your smoke detector go off when you cook? Mine does so I just removed it. I know I shouldn't have but dang, it's so loud in that small space. Maybe I will just remove the batteries when I cook if I can remember. Happy camping! 😊
The US Navy was an over the top experience and my veteran status was instrumental in my getting my dream job as an engineer on Csx. 12 years into retirement and still living the dream.
First of all Happy Veterans Day to everyone and I truly appreciate you all. Next, you can talk about your heater all you want. That’s what I like about TH-cam channels. You can talk about life, the good and the bad because that’s what life is, a mixture and I like being real. You had a brightness in your eyes tonight. I know you said you’ve been busy, but I sensed a happiness in you. Yes, TH-cam is a hard business, it’s a struggle. I don’t know if it’s that my channel stinks, TH-cam don’t put it out to enough people or if I’m just not likable but it’s a lot of work and I’ve never made 1 penny. I am not in any branch of the service but my dad served in the Air Force during the Korean War, my uncle served in WW II, my great uncles served in WW I, and ancestors that served in both Civil War and the American Revolution. Kudos to all the veterans out there both in the US and abroad. I grew up in Australia where my uncle served in the military and my grandfathers were in the Korean war. Side note: Larry you need to get yourself some Montreal Steak Seasoning (by McCormick, I think). It is awesome! I put it on steak, burgers, lamb...it is quite versatile!

I am a USAF veteran. I NEVER get recognized because I’m a woman. I was a crew chief on F-111’s & F-15’s. I was stationed in England and participated in Desert Storm. Best time of my life. Just wish women were more appreciated in the military.

I'm a veteran, gave 5yrs., I'm 70yrs. old or young however you like to look at it. The one thing gets me is parents don't seem to encourage their children to serve in the armed forces. Military teaches discipline and respect, not to mention it gives young adults to grow up and figure out life little bit.

Well I use to have sorta a bad short fuse years ago but since learned that I can’t control the problem, I can only control my reaction. So I just try to stay calm 🤷 plus usually something good comes out of a bad situation eventually. Everything happens for a reason 😆
That range is AWESOME! Such a surprise the first time coming across it. If you are thinking of off-roading the West side of that range to the South… yeah, definitely take at least 1 or more adventure buddies… you’ll need it for spotting some of the areas and if you get stuck, will have others to get you out. Lost two tires (brand new TA’s!) on the same outing doing that back in 2020. Imagine the erosion of the “road” is even worse now with rain and wear/tear…😅
Larry, I have a older Jeep Wrangler and I would hang out and go camping with you. I am familiar with the Lake Pleasent area ( We call it the BLM ) and I have been to Crown King, but it has been a while. I also have a posse that we meet up and camp usually once a month or so, and you are more than welcome to hang out with us. I can let you know the next time we are heading up there. Might be after the holidays though.

I was in the Air Force and a Police Officer. I would not be a Police Officer now. I was an Officer from 1987 to 1991 and it was tough then, but now, no way.
Yeah, I don’t blame you. I couldn’t be a police officer nowadays!! Seems like people are intentionally rude right off the bat and then when the cop reciprocates a rude attitude, they have it filmed on their cell phone and posted online! Of course usually they take everything out of context to make the cop look really bad. The worst part is that everybody is brainwashed and thinking that’s how cops are, and it infuriates me to watch the comments on videos like that! The cops are there to protect us, yes, there might be a few bad ones in the bunch, but for the most part they are looking out for our better good. It’s just sad that media twist things around the way they do.

Take your cookie sheet and cover it in foil, line it with as much bacon as you can, put oven on 350, set timer for about 12 minutes, check 🥓 every couple minutes until you know how long it takes. It stays flat since it is a different heat. Trust me, try it. Jonesy

I am a veteran. USAF , I did not know how to drive when I enlisted but I learned how to drive in a 5 ton dump truck!!
I was not in the service but my daddy was in the navy and every veterans day I make a point to thank him .A big thankyou to all veterans!! We appreciate you...never ever forgotten....thankyou for another great video...much love to you and Mason...😊❤
Thank you veterans for your sacrifices to protect our freedoms. I’m not a veteran but my Dad was. Navy Sea Bees stationed in Lemoore, Ca. He served in Vietnam. RIP Dad.
My cousin was in WWII and made the ultimate sacrifice at 18 years old. He lied about his age to get in bcuz my aunt and uncle wouldn't allow it otherwise. He was 17 when he joined the Navy. He was a Seabee and died on the beach on IwoJima. Those vets were really brave. Most who joined knew the chances were high the wouldn't return. Wish I could've known him but I wasn't born until 1949.
22years in the US Army, retired in 2003. It was a honor to be able to serve our country.

We watch each week since “Kenny of all trades” shared your channel information. Love both channels. We have a truck camper and love watch theses videos to get ideas for meals and other stuff along with seeing your adventures. Sometimes it gets frustrating trying to get or even find a spot, but when you find a gem like this one, it’s All worth it.

I'm a veteran. Retied from the USAF in 2017. I don't care for recognition but it was nice to see this on your video. I just bought a 4 seasons trailer. Looking to move into it once I finish all the installs. Got 9.8kw of battery with 800 watts solar. I also put in 2 Chinese diesel heaters with a 100 gallon fuel tank. I want to just head to the hills to stay long periods of time. Sounds like you need a glowplug. They are easy to replace. When you buy Chinese, always buy 2 and spare plugs lol. You can clean it and it should work until you get a new plug

Pork Chops are too dry and flavorless. Pork steaks are on our menu regularly now! Check your PO Box for a package for you and Mason!

@@worklessenjoylifemore I agree about your visitors, if I came upon someone camping I would never go thru their site. What are they thinking? Bacon cooking, yum. I usually cook it outside though. It is very messy but so good. Try baking it instead of frying it. It cooks more evenly and stays flat instead of curling. Your oven will be messy though. Question, doesn't your smoke detector go off when you cook? Mine does so I just removed it. I know I shouldn't have but dang, it's so loud in that small space. Maybe I will just remove the batteries when I cook if I can remember. Happy camping! 😊

The US Navy was an over the top experience and my veteran status was instrumental in my getting my dream job as an engineer on Csx. 12 years into retirement and still living the dream.

You can talk about life, the good and the bad because that’s what life is, a mixture and I like being real. You had a brightness in your eyes tonight. I know you said you’ve been busy, but I sensed a happiness in you. Yes, TH-cam is a hard business, it’s a struggle. I don’t know if it’s that my channel stinks, TH-cam don’t put it out to enough people or if I’m just not likable but it’s a lot of work and I’ve never made 1 penny. Kudos to all the veterans out there both in the US and abroad. I grew up in Australia where my uncle served in the military and my grandfathers were in the Korean war.
Side note: Larry you need to get yourself some Montreal Steak Seasoning (by McCormick, I think). It is awesome! I put it on steak, burgers, lamb...it is quite versatile!

I am a USAF veteran. I NEVER get recognized because I’m a woman. I was a crew chief on F-111’s & F-15’s. I was stationed in England and participated in Desert Storm. Best time of my life. Just wish women were more appreciated in the military.

Happy Veteran's day y'all. Alot of vanlifers that use diesel heaters seem to be having the same trouble with them, have you checked the glow plug inside, or tried to change it out? That may get it heating again for ya .

Okay, I got to say your heater sounds like the movie Chitty Chitty bang bang.
I'm a veteran, gave 5yrs., I'm 70yrs. old or young however you like to look at it. The one thing gets me is parents don't seem to encourage their children to serve in the armed forces. Military teaches discipline and respect, not to mention it gives young adults to grow up and figure out life little bit.

Well I use to have sorta a bad short fuse years ago but since learned that I can’t control the problem, I can only control my reaction. So I just try to stay calm 🤷 plus usually something good comes out of a bad situation eventually. Everything happens for a reason 😆
That range is AWESOME! Such a surprise the first time coming across it. If you are thinking of off-roading the West side of that range to the South… yeah, definitely take at least 1 or more adventure buddies… you’ll need it for spotting some of the areas and if you get stuck, will have others to get you out. Lost two tires (brand new TA’s!) on the same outing doing that back in 2020. Imagine the erosion of the “road” is even worse now with rain and wear/tear…😅
Larry, I have a older Jeep Wrangler and I would hang out and go camping with you. I am familiar with the Lake Pleasent area ( We call it the BLM ) and I have been to Crown King, but it has been a while. I also have a posse that we meet up and camp usually once a month or so, and you are more than welcome to hang out with us. I can let you know the next time we are heading up there. Might be after the holidays though.

I was in the Air Force and a Police Officer. I would not be a Police Officer now. I was an Officer from 1987 to 1991 and it was tough then, but now, no way.
Yeah, I don’t blame you. I couldn’t be a police officer nowadays!! Seems like people are intentionally rude right off the bat and then when the cop reciprocates a rude attitude, they have it filmed on their cell phone and posted online! Of course usually they take everything out of context to make the cop look really bad. The worst part is that everybody is brainwashed and thinking that’s how cops are, and it infuriates me to watch the comments on videos like that! The cops are there to protect us, yes, there might be a few bad ones in the bunch, but for the most part they are looking out for our better good. It’s just sad that media twist things around the way they do.

Sometimes relaxing camping trips are the best. It is a beautiful camping spot.
Put the igniter under a flame while not lighting it. Then try to light it after. Just what I've done to fix my igniters.

Take your cookie sheet and cover it in foil, line it with as much bacon as you can, put oven on 350, set timer for about 12 minutes, check 🥓 every couple minutes until you know how long it takes. It stays flat since it is a different heat. Trust me, try it.
