My Meeden paper suggestion is 100% cotton, has a really great texture and is finer grade. My Artisto paper recommendation is student grade, handles lots of water, (still good for wet on wet) and is a bit less expensive.

I just found you and this was awesome. I haven’t seen any artists explaining in detail how to do this like you have. 😊. I’m just starting out and feel like quitting so often as things don’t seem to turn out right.

Wonderful, these are such fun little warm up flowers, and practices. Most of all enjoy and have fun!
As a beginner know practicing these brush strokes are important but don’t want to use my Arches paper! If use the Canson paper it’s harder to control anything! So hope another kind of paper ordered works better for these types of exercises (as if took art classes) bet you do sheets of these strokes! Ty!!
Done a few compound curves but it’s all about pressure of brush & then consistency of paint!
Yes on everything you stated here~ WArming up and practicing brushstrokes as often as possible is key to developing muscle memory which will devlop and create confidence, Yes I practice daily~ Its just natural for me now after decades of painting :-) I recommend and what I use for my daily paitning (And I have tried ALL student grade paper) is the Artisto pads and/or 9x12 pads. They are amazing, and great quality. I could not afford to paint daily with Arches and only use for gifts, and commissions. Artisto pads amzn.to/3N6RcaP
